70 years ago!

This is a tribute to Sir Roger Bannister's sub 4 minute mile in May 1954.
At the time of producing this video in January 2024, it is estimated that around 1800 runners have since beaten this barrier. These numbers of course are always debated. There were numerous claims of beating this time over many years prior to Sir Roger, going right back to the 1700s. However, the run on 6th May 1954 is widely acknowledged as the first time. Let's celebrate this magnificent achievement, whilst also giving great praise to all who beaten the 4 minute mile since.
