When my mother was a girl 👧 the school was a one room school house. The teacher could not be a married woman and they she taught grades 1 through 7 in the same room. Every day they started the day singing the song 🎶 Good Morning to You. My mother adored the school 🏫 teacher 👩🏫. She was a very young woman 👩 who’s name was Miss Alice. Mother quit because her mother had died and she had to go live with her aunt Mae who was a mean 😢 cruel woman. At age 17 or 18 she married a bachelor 👨 who was about 18 years older than her. Although, mother had only a seventh grade education she attended classes and earned her Licensed Vocational Nursing degree 📜. She had been widowed at the age of 20 or 21 with 3 young children to support. Her youngest child was a girl who was 2 when mother’s husband died because of a ruptured appendix. I’ve always admired what some of those women of that era endured just to survive, and I believe the saying that, “The hand ✋ that rocks the cradle rules the world”. 🌎
I really love hoping Cassidy a hero, fighter, and he is honesty, and he is a great leader and I like too here him laugh and he is a very good actors (REST IN PEACE HOPING LONG I YOU AND ALL YOURS MOVIES I SAW ALL OR THEM. Thank You
Have a go at the spurs 'Hoppy" is wearing at about the 3.25-second mark, he was obviously no animal lover in real life, no one who loved his horse would ever wear spurs like that, they are as big as dinner plates! fancy using them on Topper, they didn't have a lot of morals back in "the day", did they?
Actually, the bigger, round and rolling is the most mild. Long or short is usually for length of riders leg. There has to be a way to signal a horse to go, to move. Hercules couldn't squeeze or kick some horses to move. Some horses don't like pushed move over with your hand. Topper is saying don't tell me what to do, and being a good boy. Just trying to help.
@@fayewilliams2088 I have ridden horses for more than half a century, I have never worn spurs and never would and have never had any trouble signalling to my horse exactly what I want it to do, it is the same with children, good parents do not need a BIG stick, good riders do NOT need spurs! They are cruel and inhumane and Hoppy's were huge and the rowels had huge spikes on them, you call that mild? there is no such thing as "mild spurs" that is like hitting some one with an Axe and in defense saying you only hit him with the blunt end! I am against all cruelty, even mild cruelty if such a thing actually exists
@@marganamaurer There was more than one"Topper" horse, Horses were collateral damage back then, it was like Smoking on screen, even stars who did NOT smoke in real life would smoke on screen cos when a Star/Hero does something fans emulate them, it was irresponsible to smoke as it influenced kids to smoke ....and they knew it, Hoppy wearing spurs even if he didn't actually use them, he knew kids would follow suit and try to be like "Hoppy".... and even if you are right, they didn't know he didn't use them, did they? I used to hear a lot about Hopalong Cassidy when I was a kid. Now I know why. Boyd is a great actor.
Great soundtrack!

That black and white cowhide chair was also in another episode, Dead Don’t Dream.
The wicked witch of the west throwing apples

Dick Davis went and borrowed trouble and paid with his life
Dats my Mamma😎
31:45 unusual to see a stand in teacher wearing two guns in the children's class room
Is it my imagination, or do these old dover movies tend to use very young cows as herd extras?
Hoppy couldn’t sneak up on anyone with those big spurs making so much noise. 😂
Someone really should do a biography of Lewis J. Rachmil. He had quite a career.
wow what a terrible ending! Now go to the school and tell the young boy that you just shot his father and he is dead next door.

The spurs were part of Boyd's COSTUME. He did not use them on Topper but they certainly made quite a racket.
