- Well since last I was here the vegetation has died off and been washed away.
Not many big geodes found but still a good day for a walk in the woods.

holy moly, My son (and I) would go crazy there. Your castaways are our treasures.
Haha this creek is constantly giving great geodes ... one day I may have to dig a little to see whats been buried over time .. I know monsters have come out of there
Thank you so much for sharing with me the beautiful creations of your artists and the beauty of the natural gems and metal art. I. Would never have known such beautiful
Thank you. Those are very kind words, and they mean a lot to me
Great finds, my friend!! That's a nice little honey hole you've got there for finding those geodes!
Will have to get you up here some time and take you to it .. and of course the trilobite spot 😁
Wow the geode creek is amazing ! You found so many. What a fun way to spend the time in nature😊
It's my go to spot for when I'm not sure what to video lol
I'm not ever really happy with the video but I do love the geodes .. this summer I'm gonna due a special cutting video .. but the saw sprays so waiting for warmer weather 😆
@@huntingrocks Ha I use a wet tile saw and it gets my lower arms soaked, lol I know what you mean !
Well at least you found some and quite a few too. And you need hip waders! But I can't wait to see what's inside the ones you found! Are you going to do a cutting video? Have fun Jeff. You are the best hunting guide out there! ❤say hi to Mrs hunting rocks, and of course Hamilton!❤
I plan on doing one when it warms up a bit the little saw throws water like crazy ... This isn't my best video I needed a filler bad for my Florida trip .. I apologize for a sub par video 😞
@@huntingrocks it was fine! You don't need to apologize for your video!
Let the games begin! Looks like a good omen for the year. That is a nutty amount of geodes out there. Hope you made it safe to Florida. Don't pet the swamp puppies. 😊
I did , was a little rough today having to use paper maps since ATT went down. For a few hours ... I already told Shari I'm gonna do a "Can I pet that Dawwg" to an alligator 🤣🤣
I might have to try and find some geodes this weekend. Cherry and I were going to go last weekend but we got snowed out… it’s 65 degrees now 🤪 Hope you’re having fun on your trip!
Haha that flipping St.Louis weather is so weird . Coming up I ended one of my videos with snow and let every body know the end was shot a few weeks later . We got great rocks to hunt but our window of opportunity is all over the place in the winter 🤣🤣
I have geode kids too. I can't wait to back out again.
I love geodes ..nature's Easter egg 🤣
Nice haul in a short time !
Thank you , not my best, but not a shabby amount
Master Jeff…thank you. You made me chuckle with that geode not wanting to go in the acid. That’s the power your content has to improve someone’s day.
I would love to see you do a live stream(pun intended) out there. Hunting geodes or trilobites or whatever. Heck, even sitting in your workshop.
I'm gonna see what I can do and I got some workshop plans for warmer weather .. well work porch not really a shop 😆.. I'm for sure gonna cut some geodes and see if I can't either find cheap or rent a soil pipe cutter.
@@huntingrocks I’m trying to picture what a soil pipe cutter is, but I’m drawing an unusual blank.
Mrs.HuntingRocks informed me I didn't reply.... It looks like a large pipe cutter, but instead of a single blade it has a chain with lots of blades, they wrap around the pipe (or in my case geodes) and when you push down the blades dig in and cause a crack
@@huntingrocks Mrs HuntingRocks making sure you reply to all the questions? Love that. Honestly, I forgot I had asked. So it was a reminder for me also. (Thanks, Mrs HuntingRocks!.)
That was the only thing I could imagine it being. I’ve never heard one given any sort of name before. So they use those to cut pipes, not just geodes?
Yeah, usually the big in the ground pipes that are cast iron and the such, With geodes we don't really use them they they use them for pipes though, we use the little cutting wheels to crack the geode along a line. Now that being said they shouldn't be used on Dugway geodes as those are a harder rhyolite and will just shatter, those you got to cut.
Also, Shari (Mrs.HuntingRocks) Says "you are very welcome. someone needs to keep him honest"😆
Would you mind getting
some good shots of the
cleaned broken Geodes?
Loved today's video!
I miss going Rock hunting.
They have prohibited so
many Rock-Hound spots
in my home county.
It's just very sad.
😒😒😒
Will do I need to do a cutting video at some point, might make a special video of it once it warms up a bit , the big saw would be over kill and the little saw tosses to much water for this time of year
Also, what country are you from that's a bummer they have prohibited rockhounding
That would be a cool live with you all if possible x
Thank you I'm really hoping it can be done that would be a lot of fun
I'm going to tell Hamilton that you referred to him as being slow.
And as for him not being that fond of the water, what else could you expect? He does live with cats after all.
Lol this is true
Where is this creek located?
It's up near the town of Elsa Illinois . Most of it is private property but this stretch is about 1/4 of a mile that's luckly not ... the bummer is the good parts are all on farm land 🙁.. That's where the big big geodes sit , they do wash down from time to time, though and if lucky they survive
