Brother Robins I know that it isn't your intention but you make it sound as if Daniel and John are writing their books out of their own desire to influence their people, but it was God Almighty and Jesus writing these books through Daniel and John, It was God who wanted these books written to reveal parts of the future so we would know what to look for and to know the word of the Lord is true. May God bless you for the work you do bringing people to Jesus.
God the Holy Spirit is the ONE who explains for me any thing of the Scriptures. It is good to get guidance but our relationship with God is the most important thing.
What happens when someone else has the same view as yours about the revelation of scripture, but the Holy Spirit explained the scripture to him completely different? How do you believe, the two of you would know the TRUE meaning and purpose of that particular scripture?
Good for you Tigist! So apparently you have no need to study history to understand any nuances in language that was used 2000+ yrs ago because the Holy Spirit just enlightens you of that history without having to go to another book, written by another person who has studied that time period. Or listen to a teaching such as this one from someone who has studied more than you have. And you've no need to learn what symbolism the colors or numbers usually mean, since that learning would all come through other ppl too. The Holy Spirit just tells you what 7 or 3 or green means. You certainly do have a unique life line to the heavenly realm, whilst the rest of us bungle along having to study and help each other. Odd that you'd even be here listening to this video since the Holy Spirit has already explained it all to you.
@@christinesorensen8050 For your information I study a lot of things. I read many many books about the church history about the early church,................. The fact that I listen this message and that is why I can comment in such away as well. I read the Bible in this two language and the Ethiopians Bible has 81books extra 15 books. Geeze is an old language old more than Greek and this books were translated directly from Hebrew Aramaic and I have God given privilege to read many many things. I read the dead sea scrolls in my own native langue's. I did not go to seminary, Jesus taught me by being under HIS feet just like Mary did and I study Bible books on my own with the Help of God the Holy Spirit. I do it because I have passion for God's words. I love God and I wanted every thing God gave to us and I asked Holy I watch other peoples messages and teachings as well. I asked God the Holy Spirit to come in my life and lead me as I asked Jesus to come and live in my heart and Jesus Baptized me with the gift of the Holy Spirit and when ever I read HIS words HE is the one who leads me to HIS TRUTH. I was excited to see what you had to say here, because so many of your videos are extremely insightful and have provided a deeper look into Scripture. This one left me very disappointed, however. It almost seemed as if you feel like Revelation and Daniel are completely allegorical, but at about the 12.30 mark it seems as if MAYBE you think these are actual prophecies. I'm disappointed that the point is not made that those passages are HIGHLY relevant because the prophecies are beginning to unfold before our very eyes, for those who have eyes to see. People, get ready, Jesus is coming soon for His bride, the Church.
Hi Brandon. I admire your power to explain the Scriptures. Thanks for the brilliant idea of creating a series on Daniel and Jonh. God bless your ministry
People must follow the good news of Jesus. Daniel an Revelations or books of hope. Pray for discernment. The closer we get to Jesus the narrower the road. Keep the faith
Thanks for doing this series. It wouldn't have been my first choice, but I am still very grateful. For the last 3 years a popular Pentecostal televangelist has been devoting Wednesday evening services to teaching a very traditional Evangelical/Pentecostal interpretation of Revelation, brining in verses from Daniel to bolster their interpretation. Frankly, the slow pace and the amount of time spent tying current events and politics to the "predictions" has left me far more confused than ever, including when I read the Scripture on my own, with minimal outside resources. I have seen enough of your work to know you go in-depth exploring context and meanings of the original languages and the metaphors, rather than simply relying on a single faith tradition alone. I look forward to this series I know you will do your usual great job, taking as much time as needed, but not being distracted by making political statements, promises and predictions.
Yes, the context is always important. I remember a sermon on Matthew 19:24. On the surface we think that a rich man will never be able to enter the kingdom of heaven because a camel cannot get through the eye of a needle. But actually, the eye of the needle is the narrow, short gate into the city. When the traders are entering the city they have to force resisting, bawling camels to their knees and through that small space. That is a real contextual eye-opener!
Interesting. I thought when it says it’s impossible for a rich man to get into heaven it’s because we should share our wealth with the poor and less fortunate and if a rich man was actually doing that than he wouldn’t be rich any longer. Like when the wealthy guy was hiding in the tree while Jesus was talking to the people. I think his name was Zacharius but I may be wrong. Jesus calls him by name and tells him to come down. He is a tax collector and Jesus asks to have dinner at his home and some of the people are shocked because they don’t understand why Jesus would choose him to eat with when in their eyes he is a sinner by collecting tax to gain his wealth. He asks Jesus what he can do to get into heaven since he already believes and Jesus tells him to give away his money.
@@picklechip5462 Yes, I understand what you are saying and I looked up your support verses (Luke 19). The man's name was Zacchaeus and he promised to give half of what he owned to the poor and pay back four times anyone he cheated. Jesus declared that salvation had come to this house. It doesn't say if the money Zacchaeus gave and paid back would make him poor or if he would still be rich enough. In the parable with the camel, the rich getting into heaven is not declared impossible, just improbable. How many rich would do what Zacchaeus did? How many rich would willingly give half to the poor and pay back any they cheated? Not many I think, but certainly there would be some. I think there is another example where Jesus asks the man to give everything away and the man goes away sad because he was very rich. Thank you for pointing out this other example.
The book of daniel is one of the greatest books of prophecy, but its timeline for this is that he lived in the time of nebecanezar, 500 + years before christ not 150 years before christ. His prophecies of the statue of the end of the world is null and void if written in 160 bc. Daniels 70 weeks prophecies about the coming of jesus is nullified also. Basically, by taking the stand given by some scholars that it was created at the time of the maccabees , you have remove his validity. Either he lived in the time of the captivity or a total fake. Been following you for several months, so i’m hoping that your statement was a misstatement of when it was written and when it was made readily available to the people
Gosh, Brandon, I've enjoyed many of your videos, but this one has left me utterly bewildered on your view of scripture. Do you believe all scripture is God inspired, or that bits of it, Daniel in this case, is Persian (or other) inspired and therefore untrue? Do you think Daniel lived in the Babylonian captivity era, or much later? Or are you just saying the book was compiled later from his earlier writings? It's a very confusing video. I feel this video needs clarification!
Your recommendation about the book: Sitting at the Feet of Rabbi Jesus. was right on. I loved it SO much that I bought 4 additional copies and gave them to people who I knew would love the book as much as I did.

According to Revelation and the kings that five have fallen, and one is, would tell us that the book was written in the time of Nero, so prior to 68AD.
First, thank you for your video. I read some of the comments and I just want to say that yes the Holy Spirit does guide us in our understanding of God’s word. And one of the things that he has led me to do is to understand the culture and the surroundings of His people. They were always set apart, no matter if they were in captivity or not. Sometimes, due to circumstances beyond their control, they were forced to shroud their beliefs behind paganism. Our very calendar, months and days of the week are based on pagan gods. Whenever I read any literature, it is helpful to know who the author is and what was going on around him. Shakespeare is a great example. I enjoy him, but without context it is impossible know what he is talking about. Speaking of context, I would like to know more about you. Do you have any videos about you and your background? I am very impressed with the way you approach a topic.

Being a more scientific study, Dr. Morris has tied the two books together in a unique way I have never seen before. "As it was in the beginning, so too shall it be in the end."
Dear Brandon, you are a good teacher in many ways, but when it comes to the prophetic books of Daniel and Revelation, you would really get great Biblical insights into these vital end time books by listening to such Pastors as Doug Bachelor of Amazing Facts or Mark Finley. They have studied these books diligently and are expert scholars of the Bible, and these two books provide a vivid look at the kingdoms of the world that have risen and fallen and the one kingdom that will rise again, but have its ultimately fall. Furthermore, the Bible itself explains which kingdoms the symbols stand for, and we can see that they are real empires and not of some fictitious fairytale🙏🏼
@BrandonRobbins, there is a too on the quote. It should be, ". . . with his FOOT on . . ." Jimmy Cater was a peanut farmer. He likely would not have won except he was a passionate Christian.
Hay Brandon, thanks for making the video, this was helpful, but I'm wondering what your belief is on the authorship of Daniel? I heard you mention how important is is for us to know the context to properly understand the intent of Daniel (and John), yet you also mentioned Daniel being written in ~165 BC which would have been hundreds of years after the Babylonian exile when the person Daniel supposedly lived and wrote his book. If you take the view that Daniel was written later then how could it still be the words of Daniel? Wouldn't that be taking the view that the book of Daniel is a later forgery? Again, thanks for making this video, I would love to hear your thoughts on this!
I know I am late to the party but I have a question. Is Jesus coming back and is there going to be an antichrist and a final war? Is there going to be 1000 years of peace followed by a new kingdom? I might be misunderstanding you but my faith is based on the resurrection of Jesus and his return. I am so confused.
Hi Brandon. Really like your videos. In this video, I share some confusion of other people about the perceived Persian religious influence. It gives the impression you are saying that the Persian belief system may have framed the Jewish concepts of the struggle between good and evil. If that is your interpretation then so be it; if that is not correct then I think further explanation may be warranted. Thank you

I get confused with what happens prior to the second coming, and those things that happen at the end of the world. It's hard to separate which is which in Revelation.
Just before Christ's return the Gospel will be preached to all the world. This will happen when the Church, Body of Christ, is under its most extreme persecution to come.
Hi Brandon, I started to love your content and your work. I couldn't find any references as you've said at the end of the video. I just found your channel and so far I have enjoyed the videos. I try to always study the Scripture with a Jewish perspective. However, I disagree with you on the date of Daniel. The Bible itself claims that Daniel wrote the book. If you can not believe that then you don't believe your Bible. So what is the point. Please pray about this and God Bless you.

Ok, concerning the words/letters/symbols/numbers that don’t fit into the theological formula. Aren’t we supposed to read the word study yet but also read it with the spirit of God with the Holy Spirit guiding us.? “ why do you not understand what I’m saying? It is because your spiritual ears are deaf and cannot hear the truth of my word. Could this be we can’t go solely biased on a scholarly formula of study?
The post exilic Jews were not obedient much of the time so much of the time they received the curses of the covenant. When they obeyed out of love and reverence for God, that's the only way you can be obedient, they received the promises of the blessings. This theme is redundant throughout the entire OT and often referred to in the NT. God raised up prophets to specifically tell about the end of the Jewish National covenant and compare that with the far more future end of the world in a process of final judgment. So, this is why you see so much similarity with judgments during crisis of God's people in the OT compared to the crisis during the end time judgments. Therefore, prophecy has nothing to do with the inventions of humanity and Persian or any other culture or dynasty, but as a remedy from God to propel the plan of redemption forward under apostate religious leadership and their disastrous/rebellious decisions. God did use the leaders of Neo Babylon, Persia, Greece, etc. to set judgment in the land because they could do a better job than the Jews most of the time, who would not rule themselves under God's provisions. John was not inspired to write the book of Revelation because of what he was going through and what the Jews were facing in their world. He wrote it because Jesus and His angel came to him in a vision and told him to write everything down that he saw and give it to the churches of the time. In other words, God has been directing His people for nearly 6,000 years, not the people directing themselves "under inspiration".
Why are you lying about the dates of Daniel? Daniel didn’t live in the 2nd century BC. Plus, the Israelites didn’t learn about cosmic warfare from the Persians. Have you read Job?
I think The part regarding the Persians is when the Jews applied the knowledge of Spiritual warfare to a futuristic end times scenario of the great battle to come between good and evil. But that's just my thought. The other thing you said didn't make sense. Daniel lived through multiple empires conquering across all the Eurasian middle East lands from every direction. But it wasn't until the 2nd century that Daniel's writings were put together into its final form. Not sure what the lying part is you are saying.
How on earth could you say Daniel was written in 168 A.D. What Biblical textual evidence do you have for that? The Book of Daniel within itself clearly says he was writing at the time of Nebuchadnezzar up to the beginning of the empire of Medo-Persia about 70 years after the Destruction of Jerusalem in 586 B.C.! The people who say Daniel was written in 168 B,C. don't believe in predictive prophecy or for that matter deny in miracles. This is a major problem for those of us believe in the inerrancy of the original books of the Bible. I can't believe you would say that. I am very disappointed. Nebuchadnezzar and the beginning of the Medo-Persia Empire.
You do a good job of explaining things and pointing to Christ in so many ways, but you missed it here. Daniel was accepted as canon in the150's BC. The idea that it could have been written so late flies in the face of the evidence. The chance that it could be written, accepted as written by Daniel, and accepted as Canon in less than 20 years when Daniel had been gone for hundreds of years is 0. The idea that it was written during the Seleucid period was made up to disprove the prophetic vision of Daniel. Daniel was not even the first to write apocalyptic literature. Ezekiel did it during the earliest days of the captivity. Daniel did it later.
@Brandon Robbins No response? Typical closed minded theological dogmatism... If the Bible is the infallible Word of GOD, WHICH IT IS, (in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and was God), then how would it be okay to say that entire books of the Bible were claimed to be written by people - hand chosen prophets of the LORD - but actually they were written by other people much later as a forgery under that prophets name? Daniel, was written by DANIEL and written during the time in which it says it is written. Jesus Christ affirms this assumption. Are you saying that or Lord and savior, God in the flesh, got it wrong and didn't know what he was talking about? That is heresy... I can't even watch you videos anymore because this is such a foundational flaw in your belief, that you are spreading to countless believers and would be believers

Well you did ask sohere it is: If the next Sabbath cycle (2024-2031) is indeed the last one (curiously it marks the end of TWO DAYS with the Gentiles…) THEN the next event on the prophetic timeline is the Psalm 83/Isaiah 17 Middle East nuclear war (the one event which precedes the 70th week). Christians will be soooo surprised when this event takes place! (They’re expecting a peace treaty instead at the beginning of the 70th week…Ha!). We’ll get ready, because as we move toward international war in about 4 (Mystery Babylon’s destruction) years from now, you may see Israel experience such a horrifying outcome you will be wondering what’s going to happen next….and most will ignore God’s message to flee just after this event takes place…Will you be the one that listens(Joel 2:32)?
In my opinion, Brandon got some bad information when he did his research for this video. Brandon claims that the book of Daniel was written around 165 B.C. If that's the case, Daniel is a work of fiction because the book itself claims to have been written by Daniel, who was captured by King Nebuchadnezzar in the year 605 B.C. If Daniel were about twenty years old when he was captured by Nebuchadnezzar, he would have been about 460 years old in 165 B.C. Not very likely.
i love reading Daniel its not as hard as ppl think it is, we are at the end 11 and 12, the wrighting on the wall is written in scottish dialect it says : many many to kill you for sin! thats what Ben loden said!
From this video, it's hard to determine if you feel these books are allegorical. They are not. All prophecies will be fulfilled. We are waiting for the Blessed Hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. The Rapture first, then the seven-year tribulation is yet future.
@@uekvowzkaebbzuvrgipqxhemmwbhe The early Church Fathers stated that Christians that allegorize the Book of Revelation are immature Christians. Polycarp, who studied under the Apostle John, taught this as well as most of the Early Church Fathers. You need to study to show yourself approved.
@@connierosario9474 The Bible most emphatically does teach the rapture. I'm amazed that you would state such a thing. 1 Thessalonians 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Hi, Mani. Not at all. The events described in Daniel occurred in the 6th century BC. But the Book of Daniel itself was composed in the second century BC. Many of the stories had been circulating for centuries.
@@BrandonRobbinsMinistry according to scholars and Jewish historians the Septuagint, which contains the book of Daniel, was completed between 200 and 300 BC….so that doesn’t line up with Daniel being composed after that date….??
I really don't know why Believers are so eager for Jesus to return because before His return the world will be in absolute evil. The Russian/Ukraine War will look like a sorority pillow fight compared to what destruction awaits.
Many firmly believe they will be suddenly, inexplicably whisked away from this world before any of the bad stuff happens. They won't even have to go through the first 3.5 years of "The Great Tribulation", let alone the second 3.5 years in which you can be killed for refusing to "take the mark of The Beast", in other words, being a faithful Christian (or Jew, one would assume). Still wishing for the hastening of destruction does seem a little strange. Especially since I was taught the prayer (in an Evangelical church, no less): "Please Lord, tarry a while longer for the harvest is great and the workers are few. I know that it is not your desire that any should perish without the offer of the life eternal."
You are speaking of the writings of scriptures as though they're made up , half baked fables , leftover nonsense from Persian myths and legends . Cobbled together tales of Jewish origin , nothing to do with divine revelations spoken to the ears of his prophets , just made up trendy stories . If scripture is made up via outside influences and doesn't come solely from God it is nonsense and should be ignored .
I listen to some of this if you want to understand Daniel in Revelation I cannot help you North in this gentleman there's only one land who can explain it to you read what it says in Revelation I'll give you a hint go read the Jesus all of that prophecies and chapter 6 Revelation see if he doesn't explain it to you only Jesus can teach you so you must ask him no one else can do it
The Lord teaches the word and is the way to heavenly Fathering and thy heavenly mothering and wisdom and Godly council of the Holy Ghost and the living truth of true love as a living spirit of God. Professors make up false teachings and council and profess the living word, the living word with as the living God, but the deny or don't know or understand the living God so they end up with false knowledge and attend the church of the untruthful. Many professors profess the knowing of things, things having measurements, the numbers being true also as written in scripture and God having the living truth. Therefore professors profess a real mentor of things based on there acknowledgement, and the measurements are as numbers, therefore because the numbers are true people think the professors are true. However their professing is of individual reasoning, reality, or a distorted reality, or of delusional. The living truth is different from reality of mankind that is much worldly
ETERNAL GLORY TO THE ONLY HEAVENLY FATHER YAHUAH AND HIS SON YAHUSHA! THE RIGHT NAME OF OUR HEAVENLY FATHER IS YAHUAH, AND THE NAME OF HIS SON OF OUR SAVIOR IS YAHUSHA! LORD, GOD ETC ... THESE ARE ONLY PAGAN TITLES REPLACED BY REAL HEBREW NAMES!
You sounded as a professor not a Christian. Seek in the living truth and the living spirit of God through the name of the Lord Jesus Christ of nazereth the one and only teacher as written in scripture and attend the church of truth and not the church of the untruthful as you may have in the universe as you attended a university. Scripture says there is two churches and only one teacher. The church of the untruthful also known as the body of the beast has no teacher. Therefore having professors that profess the word rather than teach, as your lesson sounded as to profess the Bible of some books you may not understand because of trash from worldly false council or teachings asking students to read of their reasoning rather than applying Faith and understanding because they deny the Lord and or the living God. Read the Bible applying Faith and ask of the understanding and that is the way to receive the knowledge

Thank you!
Yes ... I like Brandon's political neutral position Too ....... Amen 😇🙏🌈

According to Revelation and the kings that five have fallen, and one is, would tell us that the book was written in the time of Nero, so prior to 68AD.
Thank you Brandon I've never understood these books.
Hey, Mamie. Thank you so much. I don’t have any videos or anything out there about that. Happy to answer questions, though 🙂

Wow! Thank you for presenting these videos.

Also the book of Daniel is part of the Septuagint which was completed at least 100 years prior (200-300 BC)
Enjoyed your teachings
I WANNA LEARN AND UNDERSTAND MOSTLY ABOUT REVELATIONS.. THAT'S HOW I FEEL ABOUT REVELATIONS.. 🙏

Great commentary Brandon! Very helpful in contextual biblical understanding!
How could the book of Daniel have been written approx 165 BC ? It is included in the Septuagint which was completed between 200-300 BC…?
Looks like you’re a late-dater for both books. As an early-dater I’m interested in hearing about your reasoning for the later dates.
As always…thank you and looking forward to your videos.

Thank you

Saved Skeptic when did Daniel live?
@@zwijac the sixth century. Most secular scholars say it was written when Brandon said because they deny the power of the prophecies in the book.
The quote should have said " . . . standing with its foot on a globe... " not " food." Pres. Jimmy Carter was a peanut farmer.
So you are saying Daniel didn't write his book sometome in the 600's to the 500's during his exile in Babylon?
Daniel Lived in the 600's-500's B.C.... So how are you getting that the book of Daniel was written between 168 and 165 B.C.??? 10:43
@Brandon Robbins
No response?

Hi
You place so much emphasis on the people, the context and what they experience, but what about God? Does He feature somewhere in there?
I'm more confused now, honestly
i love reading Daniel its not as hard as ppl think it is, we are at the end 11 and 12, the wrighting on the wall is written in scottish dialect it says : many many to kill you for sin! thats what Ben loden said!
I got nothing of what I was looking for here. Symbolism, and hardly not event that.
From this video, it's hard to determine if you feel these books are allegorical. They are not. All prophecies will be fulfilled. We are waiting for the Blessed Hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ. The Rapture first, then the seven-year tribulation is yet future.
That’s not what scholars say, revelations was meant for Christians in the first century, it isn’t a prophecy like Isaiah 7:14
The Bible does not teach a rapture.
@@RavensCall777 funny that you mention church fathers when none of them believed in the rapture. That’s why the rapture isn’t a doctrine of the church
Are you not contradicting yourself by mentioning 538 BC in the beginning and then stating Book of Daniel written in 167 BC. Please clarify.
Hi, Mani. Not at all. The events described in Daniel occurred in the 6th century BC. But the Book of Daniel itself was composed in the second century BC. Many of the stories had been circulating for centuries.
@@BrandonRobbinsMinistry Thank you
@@BrandonRobbinsMinistry according to scholars and Jewish historians the Septuagint, which contains the book of Daniel, was completed between 200 and 300 BC….so that doesn’t line up with Daniel being composed after that date….??
