With all due respect, aren't you bringing HUGE presuppositions to the text? In your introduction you say John is trying to use first century language to write about things that were/are to happen in the twenty first century. How is that hermeneutically sound when in the first three verses the terms "soon to take place" and "the time is near" are in the text? John was saying the events were soon to take place and near in HIS generation, not ours. This is ignored, side-stepped, denied by so many dispensationalists. I used to be one so I understand. If we sincerely believe that Revelation is speaking of events that are all future to John's audience, the only conclusion is that those events had no relevance for his readers and hearers whatsover. We are completely ignoring the original audience and yet John says in the first three verses and throughout the letter, including ch. 22, that the events were immanent. The typical response is, "Well, they must have been because they haven't happened." If that's true, then Jesus, John, and the other apostles were false prophets because they all used immanent language. If anyone does respond, please do so with Scripture rather than mere conjecture, philosophy, opinion, or "It just can't be so."

I wish more preachers would speak about REPENTANCE. Also, " wide is the gate and narrow the way" is also totally omitted. Too many church goers dont realize there are certain commandments we must attempt to follow, because that is also left out. Of course, we are all going to continue sinning on the daily, but if we are truly saved, we will not want to be what we once were, Trust me, I am not the person to be preaching, but it causes so much concern to read these comments and see so many saying this was such a wonderful message and explanation, when so much important/vital scripture was totally left out. m not accusing the preacher of doing this on purpose, as I have no clue about his heart, but I do have a little knowledge about what the Bible says...Enough to know this was NOT a thorough sermon on Revelation.
the reason pastors in churches don't teach about eschatology(the end times) is becouse the subject is very complicated. take for example the preacher in this video is only teaching one view(the futurist dispensecional pre-mellenial view) what this guy in this video is not telling anybody is that everything he is teaching here about revelation are just assumptions. study for yourself to get to the truth.
I actually watched this sermon a couple months ago while looking for a bible study of Revelation. I rewatched Jesus Revolution a couple days ago. Came back here because I didn't realize it was Pastor Greg Laurie speaking this message. But I remembered that this sermon helped me understand the book of Revelation. Thank you!

Then tonight I just watched the Jesus Revolution! Only to find out at the end of the movie that I recognized your face from the amazing sermon about Revelation I watched this morning! So I came back to this video to find out what your name was and sure enough it was you!! 🤯 🥲 🙏🏼🙌🏼 God is SO GOOD and He has been so faithful over the last year. Remember don't get caught into that trap of I accepted the Lord and now I'm saved you must repent turn from your sin and put your complete trust in the savior. It's the only way you can bear good fruit. Be not deceived for even the elect will be deceived. You will be under attack like never before by the enemy for he's angry that you've taken this step. You must put the full armour of God on. His helmet his breastplate is sash sword and pray for forgiveness everyday. For We All Fall so short of his glory. Repentance true repentance is a daily thing. I followed a couple of false prophets, searching for answers to my spirituality for a while. When my heart felt so very empty and I was carrying so much weight and pain, that I began to feel I didn't even belong to mankind. Our Heavenly Father, God called my name, I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior and made my recommitment with a new Baptism. Wow!!! I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. I went to sleep one night, crying out to God and Jesus... I woke up with an imprint of a cross on my forearm, with no explanation of how it got there. I took pictures of it as a constant reminder. I was told then, "You are never alone!" I KNOW IT, and I BELIEVE IT. Amen, amen. I am not afraid. God bless, God blessed!!! ❤😊

Some years back now I reached a place in my life where I found myself cutting myself and looking off of interstate bridges for my weapon of choice. I fell to a place of darkness that I could not find my way out. But one night in that darkness the Lord called out to me and asked me two questions. Aren't you tired yet? And aren't you ready to come home?. When I threw my hands up in the air and said whatever it takes Lord whatever it takes.... My life was instantly changed in ways that it had never been changed before. God rescued me from the outer darkness. And while it is nice to have a lifelong testimony of serving The Lord you don't have a clue is to have grateful I am that after my life because I'll be 71 in 2 weeks but that after most of my life God reached out to me. And He hasn't stopped blessing me yet. I don't care what people say about me where I was what I did it's totally irrelevant to what my Father says about me. The world keeps calling me a sinner saved by grace. My father says that I am Redeemed. That I stand righteous before Him. The blood of Yeshua has been applied to my life and it has changed me. I don't worry about anything anymore. I know who I am I know whose I am I know where I am and I know which direction I am going. If you are living in a place where you think you're not worthy, you're not, but God still loves you just like He does me. We need to learn and know what our true identity is so that Satan cannot talk us out of who we are.

That's because most big churches are smart enough to know that Revelation was written exclusively to and for the seven churches of Asia Minor (Rev.1:4) and that the end times occurred in the first century.

I agree.the Gospel first but prophecy is also showing us warnings so when we see it we will know right..Jesus said behold..I have told you before..Rev.19: 10 says the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy..(the last part).. that tells me you can't have one without the other but both are essential meaning they are one in the same..the Bible interprets itself and lines up perfectly with history to date

Pure fables and imaginations of men. As Peter wrote, that the word of prophesy is not of private interpretation. The Bible interprets itself. People, seek truth where truth is found, in the word of truth, and find any bible not authorised by the catholic church or the ecumenical swingerclub. It is not without reason Jesus warned "let no man deceive you" You will be deceived if you swallow such teaching as being the word of God. It only contains traces of truth. @Sofie Love I don't have a timeline...I have the Bible. In that Bible, the last chapter is REVELATION. Also read the last few verses of Revelation. It warns of not adding or taking away from the BIBLE!

Some years back now I reached a place in my life where I found myself cutting myself and looking off of interstate bridges for my weapon of choice. I fell to a place of darkness that I could not find my way out. But one night in that darkness the Lord called out to me and asked me two questions. Aren't you tired yet? And aren't you ready to come home?. When I threw my hands up in the air and said whatever it takes Lord whatever it takes.... My life was instantly changed in ways that it had never been changed before. God rescued me from the outer darkness. And while it is nice to have a lifelong testimony of serving The Lord you don't have a clue is to have grateful I am that after my life because I'll be 71 in 2 weeks but that after most of my life God reached out to me. And He hasn't stopped blessing me yet. I don't care what people say about me where I was what I did it's totally irrelevant to what my Father says about me. The world keeps calling me a sinner saved by grace. My father says that I am Redeemed. That I stand righteous before Him. The blood of Yeshua has been applied to my life and it has changed me. I don't worry about anything anymore. I know who I am I know whose I am I know where I am and I know which direction I am going. If you are living in a place where you think you're not worthy, you're not, but God still loves you just like He does me. We need to learn and know what our true identity is so that Satan cannot talk us out of who we are.
