I thought Charles zi Britannia was based more on the concept of the Holy Roman Emperors rather than the Japanese Emperors. The holy Roman emperors did infact consider them selves the supreme monarch of Europe higher in rank than all other kings. This makes more sense than it being based on japanese emperor since Japan emperors never considered them selves above other monarchs nor did they usually wield absolute power even inside Japan itself
I don’t think this is supposed to be inspired by state Shintoism. The political doctrine of this empire it’s absolutely monarchy, weird archeofuturism and social Darwinism.
It would be great if such Anime hymns were covered by people who have english as their mother language. I do not mean this in a racist way, but Asians just have this accent/speech impediment.

The holy Roman empire was Roman in the sense that the pope said so. Catholics had to take him at his word as the Pope is the deputy of Christ. But if you aren't Catholic then the holy Roman empire isn't Roman.
