Description: "Horn of Plenty" is the national anthem of Panem and is played during the Hunger Games, in public announcements by the Capitol, and in other official Capitol events or propaganda commercials. During the Games, it is played every night throughout the arena while the faces of dead tributes are displayed in the sky. In the film adaptation of The Hunger Games, the instrumental version of this song plays during the opening ceremony and the display of the dead tributes in the arena.

I don’t know that much about Hunger Games but this anthem absolutely slaps.
I wish I could be you, to rewatch these movies for the first time would be awesome.
Do you know much about them yet? I highly recommend both the books and the movies.
You should reaaaaallly read and watch the series! Especially with the new movie coming out this November. The Hunger Games really made, and sits on top of, the most recent dystopian craze in English literature.
Complemented by the 2020 book, the original trilogy can actually be quite adult in themes.
Esoecially the first two movies are one of the greatest experiences of all time.
Many methods to divide people and let them fight against each other are present in the real world of 2023.
First, read the books, and after, watch the movies
I wish that Panem had more world building, but we know literally nothing about how it came to exist
It was lowkey so thrilling to see the Capitol and Twelve during the Dark Days and early Hunger Games era in the new movie and book, hopefully this world will continue to be expanded upon.
@@vxxnsanthat needs to be the next aspect to this franchise. Exactly what happened which caused North America to fall and Panem to rise. I’m hoping for a new book and film in the next few years titled something like Panem:Origins.
@@vxxnsan Yes hopefully, we can see something similar in the future. This new hunger games movie gave us a little bit of information and point of view from earlier times, but there are still questions that needs to be answered as; Why did the civil war break out at all, what was the reason? Was there something before Panem, if so what happened? Would love to see a next movie from earlier times.

I just noticed that there are 12 "feathers" on the bird of panem representing the 12 districts a pretty good detail.
most likely not on purpose as the flag existed before the dark days and there were 13 districts before that

@@L2TRAPPY42 They probably redesigned the flag to symbolize District' 13's loss. It likely had a thirteenth feather before that.
And the post-Mockingjay flag shown at the end has fourteen stars, signaling the nerfing of the Capitol and implying that it is now just another district that happens to host the government
You can find that kind of detail in Indonesian coat of arms too. you can find out the date, month and year of the Indonesian independence from the number of feathers.17 feathers on each wings, 8 tail feathers, 19 upper tail feathers (under the shield, above the tail), and 45 neck feathers; all symbolize 17-8-1945; 17th August 1945.

@@nadelien9124 Well, you said that you didn't know it had lyrics and thought it's just instrumental. I didn't know that either. But, now that you see the lyrics the words still sound kinda mushed, like they aren't actual words, just the idea of them. And mockingjays do the same: They try to mimic the words but just instrumental (the idea of them) comes out. That's what I meant.
You might be thinking of the instrumental anthem in the first movie when the Hunger Games are introduced and in the morning and evening of every Hunger Games day

"One horn of plenty for us all" My take on this line is that as the districts count down, they get less and less (hence the fact that District 11 and 12 are the poorest). So the Capitol takes more than they need (Due to their greed), District 1 takes what they need, and as the numbers count down less and less food is available until there are simply scraps.
This is mostly true but District 3 is WAY poorer than District 4. It’s just because the Career Districts suck up to the Capitol

I do wonder how the population density of Panem works. Each district is basically size of an US state or bigger. And yet all the children 12-18 can gather in one place for the reaping? So the entire population of a district is in the thousands, or maybe 10-20k at most? That small number of poor peasants can support the wealth and population of the capitol?
I have the impression that the world is sparsely populated, I think it is all post apocalyptic but I didn't read the books so
In the first book, 12 is said to have like 8,000 people. Since it is the smallest district, we can just use that information.
If i recall it, Katniss mentions in the books that 11 has over 1 million pop. So id guess there isnt any problem
In districts like 1, 2, and other rich districts, the population is way larger. The only guaranteed death would be one of the tributes, and maybe both to another career tribute, as they never starve. In the poor districts like 12 however, death by any natural cause is not unfamiliar, decreasing their population.
The population of the districts vary from the measly number of 8k, to almost 1M in districts like 1 and 2. This makes a massive wealth and quality of living gap. Also, the districts are the size of multiple states in the few maps we have they are shown to take up the space of at least like 6 states.
