you are absolutely incredible. I don't think I can play this version of the song yet. so many cords I hadn't played. but it's definitely sometime to aim for
That E is crazy hard to play along and it doesn't even sound right. I found a much easier version which is at the top when you search for this song that was more up my alley.
I have been whistling this tune all day since I saw the movie this afternoon. I knew immediately I had to learn it on the uke. Your chord choices are spot on, better than the other tutorials I have seen. It sounds beautiful. Thank you!
+Domino Thanks so much for the encouraging feedback. I'm glad that you found the tutorial useful. I really try to make the tutorials as true the original recordings as possible, so thanks for noticing.
It really shows and it pays off. I like that you teach at an intermediate pace too, I have been playing for about a year and a half now and felt I was stuck in basic mode. I've checked out some of your other videos and I hope you post more. Also, your voice is amazing by the way!
this is so helpful you put so much time and effort the world needs more people as kind and hardworking as you. know that you're time and sweat has not been wasted!
+Michael Gambale Thank you so much for your encouragement. It means a lot to me that you found it helpful because a lot of time and effort goes into these videos. Your kind words motivates me even more to keep going :). It's exactly what I needed. Thanks again, and have an awesome day.
+Grace Neiderhiser Awesome! That's so exciting :). Congratulations on your new instrument. I just finished editing another tutorial, so that should be up soon. Thanks for watching.
I've been standing at the edge of the water Long as I can remember Never really knowing why I wish I could be the perfect daughter But I come back to the water No matter how hard I try Every turn I take Every trail I track Every path I make Every road leads back to the place I know Where I cannot go Where I long to be See the line where the sky meets the sea It calls me No one knows how far it goes If the wind in my sail on the sea stays behind me One day I'll know If I go there's just no telling how far I'll go I know everybody on this island Seems so happy on this island Everything is by design I know everybody on this island Has a role on this island So maybe I can roll with mine I can lead with pride I can make us strong I'll be satisfied if I play along But the voice inside sings a different song What is wrong with me See the light as it shines on the sea It's blinding But no one knows how deep it goes And it seems like it's calling out to me So come find me And let me know What's beyond that line Will I cross that line See the line where the sky meets the sea It calls me And no one knows how far it goes If the wind in my sail on the sea stays behind me One day I'll know How far I'll go

+Grace Ryan Thank you so much for the feedback, and I'm glad that you like the format :). A lot of time goes into these videos, so this encourages me to keep making them.
+cuteVeila Thank you so much for your comment. It motivates me even more to push through the editing process. I was hitting a wall, and then read your comment :). I'm going to try to get some editing in before I go to work today so that I can post something soon. Thanks again :).
Wow!! You're voice is REALLY beautiful! I'm just starting to learn the Ukulele and I've been looking for beginner song tutorials. Unfortunately, while many can play and teach, their voices can be surprisingly bad, which throws the entire song off for me, when they try to sing. Your tutorials are both informative AND a pleasure to listen too. Thanks for making them. :)
Oh my goodness! You are so sweet! Thank you for taking the time to watch and leave such a sweet comment, and I can't tell you how happy it makes me that the videos are helping you. Have a wonderful day :).
Thank you for the tutorial. Your chord choices worked well. I feel you went at a good pace and explained things well. However, I notice that on the screen for the C#min, there is no indication of which fret should be barred, so it looks like it's the 2nd fret, while you're playing the proper 4th fret. I couldn't figure out why what I was playing didn't sound like what you were playing until I looked up what a C#min chord was.
Hi, and thanks for watching. If you look closely, you will see that the C#m does have a 4 and a 6 by the graphic indicating that the chord is to be played on the 4th fret. If you're using a mobile device, it is difficult to see. Thanks again and have a great day :).
Oh, I forgot to mention to thank you for your comment. It helps me know that the numbers by the graphics are too small, so that will help me know what people are noticing and not noticing. Thanks again :).
I messed up a lot of times during the play along because you sing it differently than the original song and it threw me off track. But thank you for the lesson! I'm sure I'll get the hang of it soon.
What kind of ukulele do you use, is it soprano. I am thinking about purchasing a ukulele and I want to sound as much as I can. Is there really any difference. I'm more of a woodwind player :) Ps your one of the best players and your tutorials are extremely helpful, hopefully I can play along very soon!!
+sunshine sparkle Hi, , thanks for your question. I use a Gretsch Root Series G9121 Tenor A.c.e for my tutorials and for teaching at my studio, I use a Classic Mahogany concert Mainland. I like the longer necks because it allows me to play a variety of songs with different chord voicings. I would say, play as many ukuleles as you can and then decide what you like. Ask yourself a couple of questions. How does the neck feel in your hands? What shape is easiest for you to hold and play? Is it in your price range? Does it hold its tuning? I hope that helps :).
I just had an urge to learn this song and of course you already made a tutorial! However, I had to transpose it (this was too high). I have trouble transposing the key change rn but this is still the best tutorial, thank you so much!
One Music School Well what I'm struggling with is figuring out what key the key change is in. The song overall is in E, right? And what's the key after the key change? You're really the sweetest and most helpful person ❤️
The key of the first part is E major, and the key change is to F major. Try changing it to the key of C and then place a capo on the first fret and play the rest of the song in the key of C rather than transposing it to C# if you don't like barre chords. I hope that helps :).
Hi Miss Katie ,I am trying to play this song as it has got the same strumming patterns as the circle of life.I have done my homework for circle of life yesterday so I am trying this out.I have to defeat my fear for E chord.🙈🙉🙊
You can do it!!! I use one variation, but I did make a video about how to play the E chord 5 different ways. Let me know which way worked for you the best.
Thanks for watching and thanks for being so kind. These chords and diagrams will work for any standard ukulele except for a baritone. I hope that helps.
Hey, I really like your version of the song. Could you please share the strumming pattern for the very last part of the song? I goes too fast to follow. Thanks :)
I'm so glad that you liked this video and found it helpful. the strumming pattern is [down, down, up] [down, down, up] [down, down, up] [down, down, up] or 1 + a, 2+ a, 3+ a, 4+ a. I hope that helps.
Thanks so much for watching. Here Lana video that made about how to play the E chord a few different ways if you do t like the barre chord. I hope it helps. ua-cam.com/video/L8vXbVB-Mtw/v-deo.html
One Music School Thank you so much for the video suggestion. Still having a hard time doing any of them but I’m sure it just takes practice. Thank you.
I know I watched it long time ago I play the e chord the third way from the video that’s the easiest way for me I’m just a baddie xD sometimes it sounds right but must times it doesn’t :( but thanks
+rainbow star I'm so glad you're learning how to play :). Yes, it means to barre or push down all of the strings with one finger. If you look at my fingers when I play the E chords and pause the video, you can see I'm using my ring finger to push down on the G, C, and E strings. I've seen E played different ways, so you do what's comfortable for you. I hope that helps.
+Paul Thomson Don't give up and keep trying. I'm able to play the E without barring the first string because ive been playing double Barre chords on the guitar for a long time. Just focus on progress and not perfection. Trust me, I wasn't able to do it right away, so don't worry if it doesn't sound like what you want right now. You can don't😀.
Wow, thanks for taking time to reply, I was not expecting that. I shall persevere. My kids love Moana, so I am determined to get something that sounds vaguely like the real thing. Thanks for your videos, they really are fantastic for learning!! Keep up the good work.
Yes, you can do it. I actually made a video about barre chords. Here it is, and I hope it helps you. If you are still having problems, let me know and let me see what I can do to help. Have a great day :). ua-cam.com/users/edit?o=U&video_id=CvJYDSTfzuY

+jemma jamz Hi Jemma, I play to the tempo of the actual song to try to make it as true to the original as possible. I check with a metranome. As far as the tutorial, there is a way that you can slow down any UA-cam video, and it's linked below. I hope this helps. HTTPS://ua-cam.com/video/q9k-B1-TVGU/v-deo.html

These chords I've never played before. 🤯
I need to recommend this! You are the best teacher I've had on UA-cam! Thanks!
Thank u so much, this is my favorite song. IM ONLY 11 AND I CAN ALMOST PLAY THIS SONG!! My friends are gonna be so impressed!!😍😍😍😍🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
+Drew Jaeger Keep playing 😁. So glad that you're starting early.
I've been standing at the edge of the water
Long as I can remember
Never really knowing why
I wish I could be the perfect daughter
But I come back to the water
No matter how hard I try
Every turn I take
Every trail I track
Every path I make
Every road leads back to the place I know
Where I cannot go
Where I long to be
See the line where the sky meets the sea
It calls me
No one knows how far it goes
If the wind in my sail on the sea stays behind me
One day I'll know
If I go there's just no telling how far I'll go
I know everybody on this island
Seems so happy on this island
Everything is by design
I know everybody on this island
Has a role on this island
So maybe I can roll with mine
I can lead with pride
I can make us strong
I'll be satisfied if I play along
But the voice inside sings a different song
What is wrong with me
See the light as it shines on the sea
It's blinding
But no one knows how deep it goes
And it seems like it's calling out to me
So come find me
And let me know
What's beyond that line
Will I cross that line
See the line where the sky meets the sea
It calls me
And no one knows how far it goes
If the wind in my sail on the sea stays behind me
One day I'll know
How far I'll go
I have an easier way (different pitch):
C (I've been staring at the edge of the water)
G ( long as I can re-)
Am (member, no matter how hard I...)
F (tryyy...)
C G Am F (same timing)
(Every turn) Am (I take every trail I track, every path) F (I take every road leads back, to a place) C ( I know where I cannot go where I long) Dm ( to) F (be) FM
C G AM F for the rest like normal
i guess it is kinda randomly asking but does anyone know of a good place to stream newly released series online ?
@Allen Ray Lately I have been using FlixZone. You can find it on google =)

I adore your tutorials! But, I was wondering, is there a chance you could make this tutorial for guitar? I'm looking for it! :)
I messed up a lot of times during the play along because you sing it differently than the original song and it threw me off track. But thank you for the lesson! I'm sure I'll get the hang of it soon.
+Li Un Thanks for watching :).

sunshine sparkle ice suggest a concert if you want a load beginner ukulele. Because that’s the second smallest.
Amazing 🤩🤩🤩
so cool
I just had an urge to learn this song and of course you already made a tutorial! However, I had to transpose it (this was too high). I have trouble transposing the key change rn but this is still the best tutorial, thank you so much!
You are so sweet, and I. So happy that this helped you even though it was too high for you to sing. Let me know if you need help transposing it 😁.
One Music School Well what I'm struggling with is figuring out what key the key change is in. The song overall is in E, right? And what's the key after the key change?

Wait... actually, transpose it to D. C might be too low.
One Music School Thank you so much ❤️
Thanks for this! This is such a great song! Just a heads up I think there might be a mistake for the Dm chord chart.
I know! I put that I. The cards right away, but cards unfortunately don't show up anymore 😑. Thanks so much for watching and have a great day.
wow. thank you!
i played this at our school and it was awesome. Can you pls do a tutorial of True colors? thanks
+Jaian Aaliyah Francisco That's great to hear :). I'll look into "True Colors".
thanks so much
+Muh Kurniawan Thanks so much for watching :).
Is there a link to the chords and lyrics? Thanks so much. Using this with my grandkids.
could you tell us what frets to play these chords. it would be really helpful but if it's too much than never mind. thanks if you do though
Let me know which way worked for you the best.
you have a such a voice

So pretty . I love your voice.
amazing!!! :D
wow your voice is amazing 😍🔥💫👌
+Sweet Harmony Oh, thank you so much. You made my day. Have an awesome day 💗.
love your videos. could you do a tutorial of the instrumental version of A Whole New World?
Hello! Great voice. I have a question: the chords are for a soprano ukulele?
Thanks for watching and thanks for being so kind. These chords and diagrams will work for any standard ukulele except for a baritone. I hope that helps.
I love your singing😍
Oh thank you! I really appreciate you taking the time to watch :). Have an awesome day.
Good!! thank you!♥
I'm so glad that you liked it :). Thanks for watching.
OMG WHAT A VOICE!! 😍
Thank you so much.
Hey, I really like your version of the song. Could you please share the strumming pattern for the very last part of the song? I goes too fast to follow. Thanks :)
Theses chords are way harder than I expected.....
bravo!!!!
Hi i just loved your video.
Can you write down here the struming patern that you use please?
I'm so glad that you liked this video and found it helpful. the strumming pattern is [down, down, up] [down, down, up] [down, down, up] [down, down, up] or 1 + a, 2+ a, 3+ a, 4+ a. I hope that helps.
Are u mad? You are too fast but still easy for me. Congratulations for 300K subscribers!❤
Que mulher maravilhosa, estou encantada.
Hello!! Was wondering if u wanted to do a duet with ur uke and my cello (-:
Oh my goodness I have the exact am same ukulele as you 😊
Any tips for beginners on how to play the "E" cleanly?
Thanks so much for watching. Here Lana video that made about how to play the E chord a few different ways if you do t like the barre chord. I hope it helps. ua-cam.com/video/L8vXbVB-Mtw/v-deo.html
One Music School Thank you so much for the video suggestion. Still having a hard time doing any of them but I’m sure it just takes practice. Thank you.
Do you by any chance have any chord sheets I could look at for this song.. Or any links where it is these chords
+Danielle Carter Hi, I uploaded the chart a few days ago, and the link is in the description box :).
You sound like Moana😍
What kind of ukelele did you use????
I would hope to win one!
Many thanks! i ve practiced a week! just found Dm at 4:59 is wrong.^^
Yes, I found it as well, and addressed it months ago. If you look closely, there is an annotation correcting the mistake.
Que mulher maravilhosa estou encantada.
Can I use different strumming pattern? I can't handle with this one 😢😢
Sure. Use anything that you’d like.
Is your ukulele tenor, soprano, baritone, or low g?
+Daniela Santiago I use a tenor for my tutorials 🎵.
One Music School Thank you so much!
i just discover this song but i cant play the E chord cant get it right lol can we change it for something else xD
I did make a video about 5 different ways to play the E chord. I’ll link it for you and I hope you find a good option.
I know I watched it long time ago I play the e chord the third way from the video that’s the easiest way for me I’m just a baddie xD sometimes it sounds right but must times it doesn’t :( but thanks
What does it mean when it has the dots and a line going over them from one side to another **sorry I'm barely learning how to play**
rainbow star I'm pretty sure it means to bar the whole or part of the fret. Meaning you cover the three strings the dots are on
Penelope Cornell oh thanks I'll try it 😊
+rainbow star I'm so glad you're learning how to play :). Yes, it means to barre or push down all of the strings with one finger. If you look at my fingers when I play the E chords and pause the video, you can see I'm using my ring finger to push down on the G, C, and E strings. I've seen E played different ways, so you do what's comfortable for you. I hope that helps.
One Music School thanks so much! 😊 btw good job on the vid you did amazing
How does she play that e chord without barring the first string. I can't get my fingers to do it!!
You can don't😀.

now i can play
+Binbin Komkrit 😊 I'm so happy that it helped you. Have an awesome day.
I really want to learn to play this song. But I can not take the chord C#m. I ever make it?(((
Yes, you can do it. I actually made a video about barre chords. Here it is, and I hope it helps you. If you are still having problems, let me know and let me see what I can do to help. Have a great day :). ua-cam.com/users/edit?o=U&video_id=CvJYDSTfzuY
Thank you. I will try :)
can you do goner from twenty-one pilots
Thanks for watching! I'm working on "Ride" right now, so thanks for leaving a suggestion about what I could do next. It's nice to see what people want to see.
It's pretty helpful, but I recommend not going to fast because it was hard to catch up
+jemma jamz Hi Jemma, I play to the tempo of the actual song to try to make it as true to the original as possible. I check with a metranome. One Music School oh okay thank you!! :D
whats her strumming order down up up or?
Strumming is down down up - that is one count, so you will repeat that pattern 4 times in order to play 4 counts.
u sing better than my sister
Please do a "Remember me" tutorial
+youngdancemoms You read my mind. It's coming later this January 😀.
