Also glad to hear you're having fun exploring the different characters! Doc Strange is definitely powerful and is my fave. But there are honestly very few characters I wouldn't want to play in this game. I'd recommend War Machine against Ultron actually! He has several cards that can just wreck the drones
Try Leadership with Hawkeye, Squirrel Girl, and Make The Call - Hawkeye can snipe drones as they come in, meaning they won’t get to attack you and Ultron won’t get the bonus ATK. Fun video!
Haha this video made me LOL - and was absolutely rad. I love videos like this. These are the videos we make for ourselves. The most creative aspect of creatives. This was brilliant Tim. Edited amazing and so enjoyable
Beautifully done video, wow! Ultron is definitely beatable, but maybe not as much with the precons. Sounds like you might have also been making your life a little harder by giving his 3rd version the plus 1 ATK for each drone in play, which is a skill he no longer has at stage 3. Instead the drones get tougher and he can't take damage if there are any out, but he also doesn't hand them out any more. Venom is great against him, as someone mentioned, because of his gun which just shoots down all the drones. Anyone with retaliate 1, like Black Panther, is a solid choice. Using Leadership and the Hawkeye ally who shoots any drone that comes into play is nice. Hope you've had better luck since this dropped!
Very fun video Tim! Cant believe you lost as venom; he's the Ultron KILLER. You just drop his multigun and the endless hordes of Drones just disappear. Red skull definitely isnt a pushover either, but Ronan...Ronan is a tier on hus own
AH now I have to give venom another shot! I think I let the drones overly build and focus too much on ultron… HAHA! And here I am having trouble with ultron 😭 I need to get my act together if ronin is that far away! Glad you enjoyed the video Kieran! 🥳
Great video. I struggled with Expert Ultron when I first started playing. As I expanded my card inventory and pit more time into deck building he becomes more manageable. Still an underrated difficult Villian. I feel he is more difficult then anything in Rise of the Red Skull campaign because he disrupts your deck.
I think so! So when ultron initiates an attack- a drone pops out giving him +1. He’ll finish the attack (level 2 making him at 3 atk now with the +1 drone) and then minions attack after the villain; it’s a tough fight 😅
In true solo, beated Ultron (standard level) with the precon decks of Captain America, Black Widow, Venom. Using custom decks, Iron Man justice and Rocket Raccoon aggression. Tough but not impossible.
I just got Marvel Champions in a BGG trade. I really need to get this played. Have you tried it with two players, yet? If so, what are you're thoughts?
OH nice trade!! i have not (will soon with 3), but I can only imagine it to be better! Certain heroes have supportive cards that excel in team scenarios, and for me, it'd be more fun if I could focus more on one mechanism (purely attacking) while my teammate focuses on managing threat. You can also try playing with two heroes at once (like dale the casual gamer does-i love his playthroughs) to see how team dynamics would work!
Sounds like you're playing on expert mode I think the preconstructed decks will only get you so far - they can be fine for normal mode, but for expert you'll definitely have a better time with a refined deck. Especially vs Ultron, attacks that clear drones are sorely needed, and for example Dr. Strange preconstructed protection must have been terribly disappointing 😅
Yes!! Expert mode ultron is the last one I’m trying to finish before moving on to red skull! 😩 I was super confused with how dr strange protection played out-you’re right 😂😂 def going to try aggression or leadership with strange!
If you only have the core set, then you can only play a single deck with every aspect. I managed to defeat Expret ultron once with Agression spiderman. Hulk carried that game pretty hard.
This is great. I can relate when playing a video game but I don't think a board game has gotten to like this. I really need to try Marvel Champions now.
Played ultron with base set up she-hulk. I must have got lucky because i beat him first try. So far the only person i have a hard time playing with is base set upblack panther. Took me like 8 tries to take out rhino

More Marvel Champions videos please! This was awesome. Ultron is definitely pretty difficult true solo, much more manageable two-handed or 2 player
Love the artistic camera shots of the cards and you telling the quick stories of your sessions!
amazing video quality. here from Foster the Meeple

Nice video, thanks! I've only played Black Widow (winner) and Rogue (loser) against Ultron. Yes, Ultron is a tough one to deal with.

Ah man Champions rocks! Glad you're enjoying it!
Are you sure that after the drones spawn, they boost the attack, aaaaand attack themselves?

@@TimChuon cool, ya I was never too sure on the order. Sometimes messing up the order can significantly simplify or harden a boss.
He's hard af 😂
Totally right they spawn and attack and boost the villain attack in Ultron II.

Well edited
Only tried Ultron once with a preconstructed deck and got demolished. lol. Such a fun game.
hahah! we share the struggles here 😂😂 incredibly fun!

Let’s catch a game on Skype sometime :)

I have yet to beat this guy even on normal 😭 too much scheming!
