There's a difference between a wrench light and a check engine light. My 2011 Ford Fusion hybrid only when driving over 70mph for at least 16 miles the wrench light comes on, but when i stop the car and turn it off the wrench light goes off. No check engine light is on! I see no change in driving on the the engine. MPG stay around 35.this is unknown by Ford dealer. Even when Ford looked at it they said possibly the Throttle body when i was under warranty, but when I started having shutdowns they said they didn't have any record of the tech finding that. Becayse it was under warranty at the time it should have been c9vered when it finally failed, but the Ford dealership didn't honor their statement. What good is having a warning system that doesn’t tell you what is wrong?
I'm having the same issue. Pulled the code P2119-- my light too alsso comes on and then off. Also it did have limited power yet I can drive up to 70-80 sometimes with out light illuminating
So I have a 2020 Ford Escape and it keeps throwing the wrench light. But it only does it when I am putting or taking my jetski out of the lake on the boat ramp. And eventually after about an hour it goes away. My guess is that the AWD isn’t engaging or slipping. Any tips? Thank you.
As someone with a 2012 ford escape and this is happening i am also confused. Just gonna change my oil tomorrow and see if that fixes it. If not then ill get a tune up
My Lincoln 2013 MKS started that yellow wrench terrror right after my first oil change on this used car. And the engine light was already on when I bought the bitch.
In my 2011 F150 platinum I changed the fuse box And i think after I change it I was getting the wrench tool ones in a while And now I get about twice a week I all ready change one of the catalysts and now is give been me P0721 -00 and P0722-OO the speed sensors You think is because I change the fuse box Any help we’ll help me a lot When the wrench come I lose my miles from my dashboard lose pose and the needles go down right away

Is it possible that the wrench light could come on after using different gas I used premium because there was no unleaded and I noticed the difference but ignored it felt harder than smoother…anyways I took it straight to a mechanic because while I was driving wrench light came on it went into limp mode I waited like 5 minutes started it up check engine light came on so I got worried when I got to the mechanic he ran a diagnostic and said there were no codes shown there is no issues with the truck from what he can see everything looks good and he said the check engine light cleared itself he said it’s more than likely the gas I used the truck wasn’t used to it and it triggered a safe mode like my truck went into panic mode but said once I burn the gas just put unleaded only and it should be ok

Go to your airflow meter sensor connector check if it's tight enough it may be loose

Okay what if it wasn't on until AFTER I took it in for an oil change and other routine maintenance, and now it comes on about 5 minutes into driving?

Yes it's possible. I've seen it happened before. Always use the correct octane designed for your vehicle.
