This is how I made an automatic Shuriken(Ninja Star) fidget spinner from a stainless steel bolt.
I hope you enjoy this as much as I do!

I get asked a lot about mechanical drawings for my UA-cam projects. Technical drawings including Shuriken are now available on my website. 😄 www.maker-b.com

When making Springs and you want nice even spacing.
Just use the threads on a bolt as a guide! 👍
"In the next episode, I turn all the objects I've made, back into Bolts." 🤯
Do it now!
As a mechanical engineering I really can appreciate the precision and work which went into making this curio. Well done.
My pleasure :-)
"As a mechanical engineering....", you should probably learn to proofread your comments before you post them. Also (just a footnote), Mechanical Engineer, being a title, is capitalized. Unless you meant to type "mechanical engineering STUDENT, in which case we're back to proofreading.
@@Rotorhead1651There’s no need to be a dickhead. It’s a UA-cam comment, not a literature test.
@@Rotorhead1651jesus christ that‘s pathetix

Such precision. It’s a pleasure watching you work.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Very relaxing to watch you work. Everything is so clean and precise. Nice job.
Thanks mate
@@MakerBi watched your engine video a few months ago and was bummed out that you didnt have any new videos, thanks for coming back
Alternate title: I have a lathe, a camera and way too much free time.
Deadliest fidget spinner yet, I love it.
Great to see ya again! Hella cool star. 💪
Nice to see you again too✌️
Finally a new video after one year! Please don't disappear again for so long time.
He's back!
The fact you used stones to sharpen each individual blade just shows how much love you put into your work. 🤙
That part was fake. He didn't actually sharpen them.
That is so cool! Got to be careful not to put that in your pocket. 😨
Great video.
Wow 1 bolt and 1 shop filled with more machinery tools than most commercial shops.
And more skill than you probably have in your pinky finger.
That was mostly one mill
The attention to detail, skill, and knowledge is just amazing
So easy to build... If only I had the time, those tools and your ability... Piece of cake 😅
In all seriousness, this was impressive!! Congrats!
Great build. Thank you for sharing the different techniques. 😊😊
wonderful 👏🏻👏🏻😍 .. the bearings make me laugh 😅😅
Here, even a watchmaker would nod in appreciation, beautiful work.
I just finished up my apprentice machining school and am working towards that journeyman level, so I love watching videos like these. Getting ideas for projects and seeing the behind the scenes of how mechanisms work, like the Iris mechanisms here (which blow my mind every time I see one). As an added bonus your other videos are on making engines! (I'm halfway through a little sterling engine, myself). Consider me subscribed.
Is the machine you're using a lathe or horizontal mill? That powered tailstock for index cutting/slotting was super rad, too.
It's a lathe with a rotary that I attached. Good luck with your engine project!
@@MakerB Shuriken should be thrown
This is stunning..pure art sir!!
Вот это точность; на такую работу смотреть приятно! Молодец!!!!!!!!
The man makes a spring like he is cutting bread. Astonishing
A shuriken (Japanese: 手裏剣; literally: "hand-hidden blade") is a Japanese concealed weapon that was used as a hidden dagger or metsubushi to distract or misdirect. They are also known as throwing stars, or ninja stars.
Very nice!
Very very good machining. Loved to see that precision and clean work.
Just amazing work. Thank you for sharing it!
An imaginative artisan. Thank you for your talented display.
The amount of precision on this hurts my head but I still want one....
nice to see you back ...
UA-cam was less creative when you were gone
Very pleased to hear that. Thanks!
Man, I had no idea companies make ball bearings that small! Very neat.
you should see my dental drill. It spins at 500,000 RPM
Extreme precision and fresh coffee.... good way to start the day
Thanks for sharing
Cheers
Man, a lot of makers I think "I could probably pull that off with the right tools. Not a chance with this. Amazing and beautiful.
That is craftsmanship at its absolute finest.
Phenomenal work and tolerances..!!
Pure genius.
You’re a magician with that lathe!
Thank you very much for taking the time to answer me! You ROCK!
Beautifully, elegantly machined and assembled. Nice work.
Making the gas engine was so cool I would love to see that again
I watched all your videos within two days and I am totally hooked.
Everything is so clean and precise even though it's so tiny. I love it. Thank you so much for your fantastic videos.
Glad you like them!
Haha. A razor sharp fidget spinner. That's a good idea.
Great build! Really satisfying and fascinating video.
Well,
There goes 20 minutes that I will never get back.
Not as if your 20 minutes is of any significance.
That is really cool how you made that.
dark owl : that's impossible how did you do it
Shuriken/fidget spinner. Nice! 👍🏻
Bro he made this just for our entertainment, and apart from his project you are not forced to watch.
That is so cool. Bad ass design
This is one of the best videos I have ever seen
Bloody beautiful. I began to dream about variations at the finish. Childish moment.
finally you're back with bolt 😇
I love it. Its like the fidget spinner of death.
❤ Very special project. The mechanism working good. Great to see you back mate ❤
Thank you! Cheers!
My family is waiting for me to head out to go shopping. So I tell myself, it is 18 minutes, so I will watch like two or three and then head out. Needless to say, they had to wait... Fantastic work!
Most people don’t know the origin of the name “shuriken”. In ancient times a ninja came to a blacksmith and asked “Sir, can you make me a metallic star as a weapon?” To which the blacksmith replied “sure I can”; and the rest is history.
XD
You’re videos are too good! And too few in between😂 we want more of your craft please ❤

I was getting increasingly worried. It's good to see you back.
I'm sorry for making you worry. Good to see you again!
This seems to be done in the same style of "Johnny Q90" absolutely enjoyable to watch! I just wish you uploaded more often :-)
It's so cool. It is a symbol of mecha.
the precision🤐
Sp you in fact, just made a very complicated and dangerous fidget spinner.... good job.
So it's really just a complicated spinner.
That has to be the most dangerous fidget spinners ever made haha
My dude, you're sick with it. I wish that I could have the brains to make ANY thing close to what you make EVERY TIME!!!!! all of your videos are AWSOME BRO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Babe wake up, Maker B posted
Beautiful work. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you! Cheers!
Muito bom adorei isso se eu encontrasse a venda eu compraria.
Parabéns 👏👏👏
Bravo si vede che te ne intendi di meccanica di precisione bel oggettino anti stress 👍👍
Занятная штучка. Прекрасно исполнено!
The most dangerous spinner in the world xD
NICE!
That was awesome !
beautifully done👌
thanks for sharing
Excellent travail. Tres impressionnant. Tout simplement splendixe
I work wood. Your level of skill and precision dumfounds me. Beautiful video. Thank you.
Thanks for your comment :-)
How cool is that?! I'd say somewhere well in to the range of pretty damn. Does the fact that this thing is almost entirely useless matter? Oh no. If anything, that just makes it cooler.
Just admit already that you ARE an alien, PLEASE!!
Maybe?!
@@MakerB there you go. Now I can understand why you are so awesome. 👍
Absolutely incredible engineering, and a beautiful finished piece. Its a joy to watch your videos.👍😊
Glad you enjoyed it! 😀
It's impossible to stop watching. Looks like a magic video. Thanks for your job, man.
Glad you enjoyed it!
That Moment he build a screw out of a screw killed me😅👍
Nice 👍🏿. This looks a lot like a fidget spinner w/ blades.
One of the coolest thing I have ever seen, just not sure what’s that for….
Great work, beautiful artistic work. Love it ❤️
It's for when you find yourself surrounded by the ninjitsu, and ya got to slice your way out

Прекрасная работа! Молодец!!!
Absolutely amazing to watch!!!!!
That is so cool.
Hi,
Genial,Genial,Genial !!!👍👍👍
Useless, maybe but amazing to watch the precision and thought that went into it. Thanks
He's gonna be hired by Alexander Corvinus.
In fact a Brilliant Precision Work
At last the craftsman has returned!! Welcome back man, great build! I'm super curious how that mechanism works. I understand the pins and blades, but I can't make out how pushing the brass center makes the blades snap out, and then pushing it and twisting pulls the blades back in and rearms it. Regardless, very fascinating build.
1) twisting the body pushes the pins through the tracks engraved in the blades, making the blades extend or retract
2) the torsion spring is set up to pull the blades into extension
3) the retention plate has two pairs of notches for the internal button
The prongs on the internal button slot into those notches when the outer plates are not held in. Pressing the outer button plate pushes the internal button out of the retention plate, freeing the mechanism. The torsion spring then unfolds the blades. The mechanism then locks in extension when released.
Pressing the outer plates again and twisting counteracts the torsion spring, pulling the blades in, then releasing the button plate locks it in retraction.
Awesome
You're fantastic!!!
Greetings from Brazil.
Thank you very much!
The fine metal processing is impressive.
Accidentally makes a class III weapon.
Awesome job!!
Oh yeah.. you remembered finally having a youtube channel..
It's like a deadly little fidget spinner.
This is so cool. A great project.
That's pretty awesome!

until we meet again next year guys 😂
Glad you enjoyed it😀
I have no idea what that is, but that is some beautiful machining. Fantastic video.
