V8 solenoid engine, 3D printed with throttle controll and autostart. Final video

- This engine is constructed with 3D printed parts. It is designed using Autocad 123D and printed on an Ender-2. The solenoids are Arduino controlled, with Hall sensor crankshaft position pick up. Main power to the solenoids is switched with MOSFET's in the 'cilinderheads'. It has an auto-start sequence, and speed is controled with a 'gas pedal' in the panel. The crankshaft took two attempts. The first one was completely 3D printed, but turned out to wobbely. The second, still printed side pieces but now with brass shafts and pinn's, was succesfull.
Parts used:
8x JF-0530B 12V solenoids
2x Arduino Nano (1 dedicated sensor read and timing control, 1 for the display's)
1x ACS712 Amp sensor
4x SS461A latching Hall sensor
8x LR7843 MOSFET's
8x SS310 Diode
2x TM1637 LED display 4 digit
6x bearing 9x5x3mm (crankshaft)
8x bearing 7x4x2.5mm (connecting rods)
5x M8 nut (flywheel weight)
1x Oak wood base
Several pieces universal PCB board and connectors
Various resistors, wiring, M3 Allen bolts,

Imagine that thingy in a circle, and the coils not pushing orthogonal to the axis but already circular. Cool isn't it ? Then you got a real electrical engine !

A coisa que eu mais gostei é que daria pra ter ligado as bobinas uma vez por volta que daria mais potencia igual um motor 2 tempos mais voce fez questao de ligar cada bobina de acordo com o tempo de ignicao de cada cilindro e isso fez toda diferenca no som do motor meus parabens

How is the throttle control actually working? What's the concept?
In partial throttle the coils are not powered the full 180 degrees stroke of crankshaft rotarion. At idle it is about 20 degrees, getting to full throttle that gradualy increeses to 100%. Crankshaft position is messured with four hall-sensors every 90 degree, and from those values the power-on times are calculated.

This engine needs some serious greasing first of all and a heavy 1kg metal stabilized flywheel to run at that speeds

hey love the project and how it has turned out, just have one question as im currently working on a small engine project of my own, is there any chance i could get my hands on the code you are using for the engine timing as it may be suitable for the pneumatic engine im making?
