I grew up with both cats and dogs, so I know what's involved in caring for both! But right now I live in an apartment, so it's a little bit easier caring for cats than dogs for now. We vote cats! In San Francisco, not enough room for a dog as space is a premium. We rescued an American short hair female kitten and have enjoyed welcoming her into the family. She’s a very easy going cat and plays well with our Netherland dwarf rabbit.

I cat sit for a friend's year and a half year old girls...there was no problem with the training...I now know they expect me to have breakfast and fresh water out at 630am...not 631, or 632, but 630...likewise the litter box has to be cleaned by 630am too...in case I forget, they will come get me...for over a year, when they stay with me, the same girl watches me while I put out the food and water, while the other girl watches me clean the litter box...I'd say I've been trained well...😁🐈🐈
I'm animal lover who loves both, we feed stray dog in our street, i have 4 cats and one other dog which is in our yard and no one takes her for a walks.. I'm the only one feeding her.. If it's not me she would've doe from hunger..🙂 I'm cat person because cat's doesn't require walks.. I prefer going on walks free wothout any things in hands just for a bike ride and i love my cats and the stray dog which is going everywhere with us we love him💚 The problem is my family has got dog which doesn't even walk or feed.. Just being in the yard all day wothout doing anything.. I'm trying to provide her with everything but it's not up to my powers to walk her in rain storms.. Dont get a dog if you cant take care of it, instead get a cat they will both love you but the difference is cats are happy in their territory while dogs need to go out from their territory and need regular walks.. Both pets are good but the difference is big.
I grew up with both cats and dogs, mostly large breeds because my family had a single family house. When I moved from New York to Texas (Yikes!), we rented and the landlord didn't allow large dogs, so we kept mostly cats.
Now, I'm 63 and had two knee replacements due to bone-on-bone arthritis, I've had only cats. I can't keep up with a dog.

I currently have 2 senior small dogs and 2 cats. One cat is about 5 and the other about 3. They have all been shelter animals. I’ve had many dogs and these are my first cats. Since I’m getting older, 69, I’m going to stick with cats. The going outside to potty in the snow, barking and, for the chihuahua, peeing on my furniture, has lessened my enthusiasm for dogs.

I have, neutered male cats and they only tolerate each other,one is a year and a half than the other,my younger cat wants to love on the older cat,but will not let him. They both sleep in different areas.they are like mighty and day! I give the cat nip now and then.The younger cat is a tabby/Bengal mix very loving,the older cat 3yr.3 months Tuxedo my first 🐈😺.good 🤞

More reasons because cats catch mice which are called mousers but when it comes to a dog and a mouse a dog will sit there and look at the mouse and cats don't require walks because you play with them with the feather wand or the laser pointer dogs need walks everyday you have to spend send me your relaxing time making sure the animal gets enough exercise
And also dogs have a certain smell it's like when you walk into a dog lovers home you can smell that mutt even before you see it
And one more thing is that they have something called leash laws for dogs they can get impounded if they're off-leash far away from their owner's property but there's no leash laws for cats That's because nobody is afraid of cats let alone Stray Cats
BOTH are best. We have both in our home. Sometimes, they even sleep next to each other.

I'm a cat person of course =^..^= I love dogs too, but I like a lower maintenance pet since it gets so cold where I live. -40F is no fun to take a dog out to pee when they need to! 🥶🥶 Up here we usually have jackets and booties on the dogs if they are small, older, or just get cold too quickly. Of course my cat is contrary and loves me to open the window if it's 20 above or more to get some fresh air lol

@@salmonellagiver Northern Minnesota actually lol, Icebox of the nation is fairly close to where I am. -40 is "cold" but our record so far has been -60 without wind chill 😱

Dogs might require more training or owners might get into trouble when someone is injured by dogs. Less heard of in cats.

So, I am allergic to cats, scale of 3 per the doc, and still have a cat. Depends really on how bad. My girl is also very allergic to dogs.

As a person who has had a dog and had at least 9 cats or something, I feel like cats are just the best pet for me bc they are easy to take care of and they usually love snuggling in your lap and lots of affection, But I hate those people who force their toxic opinions about dogs saying "cats are scratchy and un-loyal and they crap all over the place and knock everything down!" those people who can't grow up and are just mad bc their mom never got them one, it'd be better if we respected people's opinions and act polite instead of whining saying one is much better than the other.

energy level and size of cat can vary greatly. Especially if you have Savannah cats. Most Savannah cats are very active (not much sleeping cat) throughout the day and are the size of a medium sized dog. My Savannah's playing every day 15 hours and need 4 hours of playtime (or keep meowing and destroying the house)

I’ve grown up with dogs, but I love cats WAY more. After the first dog, Dexy, passed away, I flat out refuse to love another dog after him. Plus, cats are much more calm and I don’t really have time to care for dogs (exercising them etc).

You can get a ragdoll because they are easier to train than other breeds because ragdolls have a puppy like behavior but about the taking care stuff and health is same as a cat but behavior is slightly different

Well my cat died yesterday and even though they just died I need a cuddly pet to have around as I found I have a better mental health with one
I've fed my dog the cheapest food available and took him to the vet I think twice? Flees. Until I figured out he was getting the flees from the cats he was pursuing. I cut off cat chasing and never had that problem again. He's almost 17. I do supplement his diet with human food though, he has eaten actual meat all his life.

Dogs are slightly better than cats, but nothing compares to a pet rock. Rocks can be found everywhere, they are silent, their lifespan is almost infinite, they don't require food or water, they can keep undesired people away, they don't shit and piss allover, they don't require training, you can pet them when you want and you can always find them where you left them.

I am decidedly not a dog person. I do not mind watching videos of dogs and I'll even hang around them and pet them if they remain calm and relaxed, but I freak out and freeze up when someone's dog comes charging at me, even if they don't mean me any harm. I got chased around by a family friend's dog when I was a kid and I never fully got over it. I've never owned a cat, but I don't think I'd have the same problem with them.
I will argue that cats can be trained at it is getting easier only because we have people who are actually dedicating their time to them. I mean cats are used in films just like dogs.
