The people that left North St Louis' blight went to South St. Louis. Low and behold the same urban blight is happening in those neighborhoods. Piss on my foot and tell me it's raining outside. Rest In Peace St. Louis, from a former resident.
I'm white and I grew up in Ferguson...it's , my hood. It's obvious that once black culture moved in, not black people who are wonderful, things began to deteriorate. Why this sudden deterioration? The answer many would like us to believe is poverty leads to crime. But my friend it is actually the opposite...crime leads to poverty. Immorality leads to crime, and thus poverty. The only hope for this situation is for personal introspection and to answer the question, 'Am I immoral?" If the answer is yes, then change your mindset and become a moral person, and join the brotherhood of the righteous and walk that "hood" with likeminded brothers...seek them out and join them for change that will turn this situation around and bring peace, protection, prosperity and love. It can happen starting with you!
I mostly agree with what you said. I’m a white person who grew up in U.City during the ‘60’s-‘70’s. St.Louis is a unique city in many ways. Yet,people are people, wherever you go. Problems are propagated in large part due to culture, and decline of culture.
Read "Bell Curve City". You are right. Immorality is a huge problem, but the problem goes deeper. Blacks on average, not all, are inherently different from the average white person. Violence and laziness have always been a staple of their culture and lifestyle.
Josiah Patterson I'm telling you what man, it's become my life goal recently. Always been comparing cities when out of state and few looks as beat up. Lucky being born at the time we've hit the bottom cause now we've got nowhere to go but up
St. Louis is a great city with magnificent architectural stock just like we have here in Philly. My hope is that this city rebounds and rebuilds and regains some of it's former glory. We can't afford to let these once great cities like St. Louis and others die. Historical urban cities across America built vibrant self sustaining communities where it's residents lived, worked, played and raised their families. There is hope for cities like St. Louis, it's happening here in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Newark, Jersey City and many others. It's not going to happen overnight, just like it took years of neglect for the decay that we've seen in these cities, the good thing is there are many visionaries working to restore and rebuild them for the future. Much success to you St. Louis!🌃🏙🌇🏦🏨🏤🏣🏢🚉🏭⏳
this vision is great for north st louis, everyone on the board of alderman should get behind this plan, all contractors should come together and be a part of a great vision. North St Louis is rich with land and the geographical location is great , we have leaders that have been a place for years that sat back and watch a beautiful part of st louis deteriorate. A massive reconstruction of north st louis can start a major trend around the world. Before you can start rebuilding you must first attack the violence. Keep pushing my brother i support you all the way. This is a great opportunity for white and black developer's to come together and create jobs for hundreds of men and women across the st louis region. Wake up st louis it's time for change give the man a chance if you can the past aldermans and past developer's a chance who you see have failed us you can most definetley give this guy a chance wake up my people jump on board and change not only st louis but the world our children deserve better. I grew up in north st louis i remember a beautiful place where kids could be kids and family's enjoyed living in north st louis dont be scarred of change no matter what race the developer is. Unite rebuild and create a better community for all race and all nationalities. This project can also create international neighborhoods this is dream that Martin Luther King dreamed of if you love king and the dream then become part of this vision. One nation one love.
So everyone moved away from crime. Now with the revitalization the criminal will now be forced to move to a new low income area. Now when the criminal enter that area they will be watched, video taped, and a visual presence of law enforcement will insure a safe environment.
Is there anything called code enforcement here? Why don't they get this guy for not cutting the grass and cleaning up the lots, and demolishing the dangerous buildings?
After the Ferguson riots and the more recent aquital of Officer Jason Stockley, violent crime in St Louis has skyrocketed. The few areas of the north side that showed any hope of revival are stagnated. Crown Candy Kitchen was recently featured on local tv news. They have virtually no customers anymore. People won't go to that part of town. It's a grim situation.
@@clairehad As someone who has been coming to the neighborhood for about 8 years, I have seen lots of improvement, and none of it is because of Paul McKee. The NGA west headquarters is moving into St. Louis Place, bringing 3000 jobs with it, and there's an ongoing renaissance in Hyde Park with three restaurants open on Salisbury street. New homes are being built on vacant lots in the southern section of Hyde Park ,and many of the homes in both Hyde Park and Old North are being renovated. Thankfully, the city cut ties with McKee, who allowed the historic Clemens House to burn, and has let many of his properties lapse into deterioration. The biggest problem I have with McKee is that he wants to destroy the historic character of the neighborhoods and basically build a suburb within the city limits. Without funding, and a bunch of lawsuits from the city, it doesn't look like his 1960s style urban renewal plans will gain much traction. Despite this, things are looking good in Old North, and I just took a walk around the neighborhood yesterday and was pleased to find many homes from 1855-1875 still in good shape, along with some replica homes that are nearly indistinguishable from the originals. Unfortunately, the areas in the northwestern sections of the city, such as those along Goodfellow and North Kingshighway are not faring so well due to the high crime that still plagues those areas.
Sad thing is that eventhough some TOD is good and would clean the city up, but then the gangs that also form there don't want TOD to happen. City of St. Louis needs to be cleaned up big time.
@joe blow exactly Joe Blow. They could clean up the crime if they really wanted to. But it's too much money involved in crime. What I don't understand is how most people haven't caught on 2 it by now
most people cant think for themselves, they are told how to think,,,yes its money ,crime is a huge money maker,,watch CRIME THE MULTIBILLION DOLLAR BUSINESS,,why is a murderer back on the streets after 7 years,,to keep the business going,,,think about all the jobs linked to crime and the impact of our economy without crime,,this country loses bigtime without crime,,i drive through this area thinking about what stlouis used to be,,thx for having your eyes open
@@rep4666 thank you as well. Is so draining and sometimes humiliating trying to convince people we're all not naturally bad people. But I'm sure a lot of them know they just don't care.
i left north st louis in 1998 i stayed as long as i could. everybody is gone but a few old timers. i remember people burning houses down to keep blacks out.blacks and crack is what brought the neighborhood down now its herion. no reason to go back
This is why housing should help you buys home that way they can't move if the rip apart the homes and streets and blocks and city and state and well you can get the point
well there was a white flight then businesses moved out of north stl. now it's vacant which means prices are low. developers fix it up, raise home values and bring in businesses then white Americans return and keep black minorities from being able to live there. this plays out in many places.
- dwasilco412 - no shit but the thing is not all black people. Can get over that shit yes our own ppl make shit worst but your ppl not making it better by doing wat your ppl been doing the same thing in a way (and fuck u to)
Maso24k But he has! He’s done far more than Obama did in 8 years. You will see. Socialism/socialization just doesn’t work. Eventually you run out of everyone else money. It will never happen ,sorry ,i grew up there and my parents, then we moved to Pine lawn then to Ferguson then we totally moved out into a small Country town south away from the Big City.Thank God.

💯
No, they went to North County then to St. Charles where they whine about their property taxes.
That plan aged well.
Now, this was done some 5 years ago.
What is going on NOW ‼️
Jeff King Not a damn thing.

You bring up a very good point. With no morals, there is no boundaries. The condition of “man”,
You end up with a “wide-open “ society.
