    Young Lady, you are Terrific! I bought everything to try the homemade Kahlua but I'm going to do this one also. Thank you. 👍🍹

      I’m liking this comment not only because you enjoy the recipes, but mostly for calling me “young lady”… I’ll take it! 😂🥃

    I was gifted a bottle a few years ago, but I don’t care for it. I used it to make it into a cream liqueur (a la Irish cream) and that turned out pretty good. I gifted it all ;-). Btw i made both Irish cream and amaretto using your recipes last week and shad them at a Christmas party. They were a huge hit! Thanks and happy holidays!

    For my homemade liqueur lovers, keep in mind that this one has a little more kick to it than you may be used to with Irish Cream, Amaretto, Kahlua, etc. This is a fat washed whiskey, with just a little bit of sweetness. It might be a really great gateway into whiskey if you're a novice, and will satisfy that craving for my fellow whiskey lovers!! Cheers, friends! 🥃🥰

    Great easy to follow instructions! Now for the cocktail!!! Still voting for peanut brittle!

      Peanut brittle as a cocktail, or peanut brittle to snack on? Or both?? 😂

    I have a casserole dish that is freshly washed, that I just don't feel like putting away... I have a jar of peanut butter that I was gifted, that isn't my preferred brand, but still very good... So, I've been cooking with it... Everything is telling me to make this, but I don't have a full bottle of whiskey... Maybe I should just make a blend... and free up some shelf space... Start the new year with less clutter! And actual peanut butter whiskey...

      Yessssssss… do it! Just use up whatcha got! Doesn’t have to be a full bottle! Report back- your reviews are always my fav 😂🥜🥃

    sounds like a nice little experiment, and one to maybe try with almond, cashew, hazelnut butter etc...

      I think cashew would be super smooth and yummy 🥃

    The Amazon recommendation link is broken btw. I've made my own using peanut butter powder and letting that infuse for a few days, then using a coffee filter to strain. Tasted great!

      Thanks for the heads up about the link, I’ll have to fix it! Glad yours turned out great! 🥃😋

    Seems interesting, if only to acquire the spiked peanut butter byproduct, ha. So, xanthem gum to incorporate the fat without having to shake it? Maybe it'd make it more syrupy? If I make this, I'd probably use an allulose simple syrup from your previous video. I'd imagine that would come out well. 6 months post bariatric surgery so sugar free is preferable. Ha, it's bad enough I'm indulging in booze again ha! Great content. Just gave your homemade Kahlua to my brother as a gift

      I’d go the freezing route rather than adding xanthan gum, especially considering your surgery! (Congrats on that and good for you!!). Let me know how it comes out with the allulose… I have not used allulose in any of the liqueurs yet simply because because I tend to keep them on the shelf for a long time and the alternative sugars will eventually recrystallize (although allulose would be my choice if I try it). Thanks so much for tuning in!!

    Have you made mint liqueur?

    • @SavidgeKitchen
      @SavidgeKitchen  5 днів тому

      I have not… but mint schnapps is a personal favorite of mine. It that something viewers would enjoy too??

    I think this is interesting, but I'll admit it's not something I want to drink (and I love peanut butter). But I dig that you're doing this.
    The thing I will not be the leader on, but would love to follow and play around with, is playing in the maraschino category...

      Oooohhhhh, there’s a couple cherry liqueurs that I like- the Luxardo Maraschino is fantastic, but I also love Cherry Heering (very different from Luxardo). Hmmmmm… let me play around with this a bit. Thanks for the inspiration! 🍒

    Whiskey doesn't have a min ABV except for Bourbon whiskey so while it cant be Bourbon for several reasons its still a whiskey. they wouldn't be able to put it on the bottle otherwise

    • @SavidgeKitchen
      @SavidgeKitchen  19 днів тому +3

      In the US, all whiskey, (including bourbon) must be bottled at a minimum of 80 proof (40% ABV) for it to be legally considered whiskey. Bourbons have additional requirements regarding the mash bill (at least 51% corn) and aging (new charred oak barrels), among a few other things. Skrewball is indeed made with whiskey, but the final product is not legally designated as a whiskey. This falls in the same category as Fireball, Drambuie, & Baileys. All of them are liqueurs made with some form of whiskey, but not a high enough ABV to be considered whiskey at end result. The choice of wether or not to include “whiskey” on the label is purely a branding decision. :)
