I just want to say thank you for the time to show how to install the Interior LED light swap. One helpful tip, to remove the stuburn light bulbs use scotch tape instead of pliers. Just place the tape over the old bulb, form it to the bulb and gently pull the tap in the direction to remove the bulb. It worked great on my 4Runner.
Dragged my feet on this upgrade for no good reason... and WOW. What a difference. We've enjoyed your videos and taken inspiration to work on our 4R, so thank you.
This is must do if you have the black interior. I did this on my 2010 and I just bought a 2018 TRD Off Road last week and had all the interior lights replaced with 4 days of having it. The LED reverse bulbs also helps a bunch.
Thank you so much for this video. The trick about how each fixture is removed is a huge time saver - not to mention not breaking anything. Using a light meter, each LED was approximately twice the LUX output of the OEM bulbs.
I’m a big fan of pure 4300k lighting and sometimes manufacturers state a light is 4300k but it’s still got a bit of blue in it. One helpful hint is to not put the housings back in until you test the bulb, just in case you have a bad bulb or the polarity is wrong.
Thank you for the great video! What color of lights did y’all use for the overhead interior lights- warm, pure, or cool white? In hindsight, do you wish you got a different temperature of white? I was thinking the warm white, while still bright, might be easier on the eyes at night; but, I don’t know how much brightness would be sacrificed.
Careful on the dome light rear seats. When i popped mine out the slider thing popped out too. I thought it broke. But I snapped it back in place. There is a center guide that matches the sliding mechanism switch. 28mm too short and loose for 2020+ 4 runners. Waiting on a 29mm led for the dome light.
Hey guys, great video as always. I'm wondering where I can get an LED kit for my FJ. A kit would make it easier than hunting down each individual bulb. Thanks guys!
not sure where they got theirs from but here is a kit I have had good luck with. www.amazon.com/Precision-LED-2009-Interior-Lighting/dp/B010OOXVTS/ref=pd_lpo_vtph_263_tr_t_1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=G6PKVVCW0RMGDDQQDK72
For the T10's in the map light area (or anywhere) use a piece of 3/8" heat shrink tubing.Turn the lights off so they do not come on automatically and slide the heat shrink over the bulbs (you can do all of them at once) and turn the bulbs on for 90 seconds. The heat shrink will shrink grabbing the bulbs. Turn the lights back off and let the Heat Shrink cool. WaLaa… pull on the heat shrink and the bulbs pop out. This will prevent scratching up the inside of the polished reflector surfaces or shattering the bulb in your face as you look up to see why you can't get a hold of the darn thing. =\
With all due respect; It's totally unnecessary to waste time taking down the upper console. Much easier and faster to simply put a bit of electrical or duct tape on the needle-nose pliers a pull them right out.

Great to hear!
You two put out some of the most helpful and entertaining videos I have seen. This made it so much easier. Very much appreciate your sharing.

If I hadn’t seen the install myself, I would’ve guessed that Toyota upped their interior lighting game! That looks clean AF (As Factory 😜)
Thank you so much for this video.

Glad it helped!

You 2 are so cute. Thank you for all the instructional video. I really enjoy watching your videos.
Glad you like them!
very informative - all cars should come with LED light bulbs. You have a new sub !
Thanks for the sub!
Thank you for the great video!

Great information and how-to. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Remember some LED bulbs only work a certain way around. If it doesn't work straight away, flip it around and refit.
I appreciate this video 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I just did this and it was sooooooo easy !!
Nice work
Thank you! Cheers!
Where you get leds bulbs for your 4 runner I like the complete set you have
hidkitpros.com/
Hi, we’re did you buy the led lights? Please send links if you had, Thanks
Would be nice if a link was provided to the lights y'all used.
I used 1" x 1" masking tape around a bulb of map light and just pull the tape. It's easier and safer.
did I miss it ? where should I buy all those bulbs including the RED ones please ??
HID Kit Pros
I need some for my 2016 4 runner sr5
Where did you get the tool to pry out the lights from? Great video too.
It came with the lit from HID Kit Pros
Hi guys! I like your videos! One question: where did you get the LED kit from?
not sure where they got theirs from but here is a kit I have had good luck with.

How have they held up? I installed a different kit on my 4Runner and 2 months later they started flickering already
All lights are still working perfectly! HID Kit Pros only sells the very best quality bulbs.
Have these held up since installing them? The LEDs I have in my Suburban flicker.
After a couple years, they still work perfectly.
i like jussssssst white
I'm on it!
I'm half blind and don't even use half of those lights lol Would be a waste of money to replace them. The map lights would be a good upgrade though.
You’re half blind and drive? Please post your travel itinerary somewhere online so I know where not to venture 🤣
Are the LED's polarized or will they only go in one way?
I believe they can go in either way. Or we just got lucky and put them in right the first time. :)
Also curious where you got this kit and how much it cost.

Did you change the glove box light?
We didn't.
For map lights, the trick I used is, clear tap, wrap it around the bulb, and pull like no tomorrow !!!
Can you show which fuse are you exactly swapping? thanks
Are you asking about the fuse I blew when I accidentally shorted the circuit?
Wanderlost Overland exactly. But I did some research and I was able to find out I believe. Is a 10A fuse named ‘dome’ I believe, correct?
Yes, that is correct.
Which LED kit did you go with?
One from HID Kit Pros.
That’s a lot of interior lights. The battery will now last longer lol

Was your festoon 31mm or 30mm?

Uh, those map lights are designed to be replaced from behind the upper console. It comes right down.
With all due respect; It's totally unnecessary to waste time taking down the upper console. Much easier and faster to simply put a bit of electrical or duct tape on the needle-nose pliers a pull them right out.
the bulb part numbers would of made this vid perfect
There is an entire kit, don't get cheap generic bulbs: hidkitpros.com/shop/2010-2015-toyota-4runner-led-interior-lighting-package/
Put the tape directly on the bulbs to pull them ding dong.....
Has anyone done led to side mirrors
Yes, hidkitpros.com/shop/2009-2019-toyota-4runner-led-puddle-under-mirror-lights/
Link to the kit: hidkitpros.com/shop/2010-2015-toyota-4runner-led-interior-lighting-package/
White light makes it look cheap
