I think the "tweaked" sound of the MG6 was better. Regarding the topic of huge numbers of Effects available in Modelers, I get "selection fatigue" and waste a lot of time trying to find just the right version of a type of Effect I want. I think it would be better and faster, for example, if there were just a few Distortion Effects, but each one was incredibly flexible in the range and ease in dialing in a tone. Being using zoom multi fx for years for both studio and live situation, their amp sim never failed me, I like the frequency and dynamic response, the only drawback I suffer from most zoom multi fx is the ugly factory preset, but once you make your own preset you're good to go, for live situation especially I can't get out the zoom rabbit hole, but for g6 I feel that if only it had more feature it will feel complete, but zoom is known for that sometimes half baked feel xD
awesome full breakdown of two units the songs you play are always nice! Nux for the sound and more effects amps and options, zoom for more stomp options for gigs.
Hi, as far as I know the G6 does not have the scene function. With the G6 you can change presets or activate or deactivate signal stomp pedals. Thank you for your question!
I used zoom for years and fell in love with the G5n as it's so easy to use until I sold it as I get fatigue from playing music, started back again last month I kind of missed it but had the opportunity to choose between it and the Nux, was hesitant at first but when I started to fool around my MG30, then I realized that it was the best decision I've made and will definitely not go back on using zoom.
Hey Man, I am currently using a Zoom G1XON and planning to upgrade. Both Nux Mg-30 and Zoom G5N are in my shortlist. Can you shade some light to pros and cons of both and why Nux is better? Thanks in advance and Have a Great Day.
@@m.rajo_17 I like G5n for its ease of use and editing even without the zoom lab and you can choose 4 presets on the go everytime (can make 8 and even 16) if you setup your patches kinda hard to explain but once you have it you'll understand what I meant and what I can say is the deal breaker for me is the pitch shifter. I can just tune my guitar on drop D and let the shifter do its job (like the Digitech Drop Pedal) What I don't like with it is you're kind of stuck on the patches and IR available since no update is coming in for it and it's too bulky and heavy for me and there will be some times where the unit seems to lack the processing power for some patches. Still a good deal but I wouldn't go back buying it. I'd rather buy the G6 for its IRs since that changed my view on having multi effect processors. Nux on the other hand is simple to use and easy to get the tones that you want if you get used to plus the IR for me really is the game changer. Would never pick up anything that can't handle 3rd party IRs.
Hi all, zeroed down on Zoom G6(price 70% of pod go), Nux MG 30(price 50% of pod go), Line 6 POD GO. Which one I should go for, I want to consider Pod Go only if Zoom G6 or Nux MG 30 will not be enough as Pod Go costs almost 50k INR in India.

Hi, Leo! First of all, thanks for your great comparisons! Its a big deal! Is it possible to see your Marshall JMP-1 as an amp (preamp) in FX loop of similar units like NUX MG-30? I think it is very interesting to test how IR's and effects are cooperating with real tube preamp!
Hi Emile, you are welcome and thank you so much, I'm really happy that you like the comparisons! Yes, it could be an interesting video...the JMP1 or the victory V4...Actually I did a similar video about an hybrid set up with the boss gt 1000 and victory v4...but I can do even more... thank you!
Thank you, well it's an hard decision...in my use case I really hate the USB port of the G6, and I would use this unit in most cases for practicing and recording and the computer app of the MG 30 is much nicer, so I would get the MG 30. Thank you for your message!
Maybe this is better simulation of Marshall amp but the hum on MG 30 is annoying. I have L6 Pod Go and I prefer Zoom G6 over MG 30 and even over th Pod Go. Effects on G6 are superb and the looper with SD-Card is outstanding. Thank you for the vid and excellent playing! cheers!

Hi, you are welcome!. Well, I've never owned a GT-1 so I cannot talk by direct experience. I can just say that the GT 1 is pretty old (2016 I believe) and in the last couple of years amp modeling has improved a lot. Thank you for your message!
I bought both. It depends on what is important for you. My ears are still at the beginner level, but in my opinion, the boss is still above the NUX in term of sound quality (out of the box). Using both side by side, are much more usable and pleasant presets on the boss. With headphones both are good, but as soon i plug it into my amp, the NUX is kind of... cold, dead sound and really, really not pleasant (the kind of sound you have on cheap headphones. ( i needed to change treble at 1 on the amp, maybe this is just a question of playing with equalizer on the nux but i have not this level yet). The outdated screen and menu on the GT1 did not motivate me to search on menu to change presets while on the opposite, the NUX is really intuitive, easy and pleasant to use. The Nux have dreaming machine and automatic start for loop, which i did not find on the boss ( check it, mb i just did not find it). However the recording on the loop is not crazy in term of quality for the NUX. A detail, but the power adaptor on the NUX is rather small, and looks so cheap and made in china Aliexpress style. The Boss has battery possibility, which is... really good. The Nux comes with another footswitch NMP-2, USB C cable, Power adaptor, and a jack. The BOSS comes with 4 battery ( at least in europe ) but no power adaptor, no cable. I bought MG-30 on Amazon Warehouss for 218€, Boss GT1 was 199€+25€ power adaptor. I kept the NUX with hope i will improve equalizer :-)
Hi Michael, thank you sharing your experience and opinions! Let me just add that when you connect whatever amp modeler to your amp, you have to disable the cab simulation and also the amp simulation (if you are not connecting the pedalboard to the fx return). Thank you once more!
Hello Leo, I'm one of your many avid followers here in the Philippines and i am really amazed by your tutorials. Can you help me with my zoom G3Xn, my problem is when i change from one effect to another the sound is so loud that i need to rock the pedal or close the guitar volume way down so the sound will be in control. Thank you very much.
Thank you so much, I'm really happy that you like the videos!!! Actually, I don't have the G3x, therefore I can't tell. From what you are writing, maybe the problem is that there is a volume associated to a preset. For instance the master volume of the amp or the overall volume of the patch: I would suggest that you check out all the volume settings of the two patches, to verify what could be wrong. Thank you!
The most basic thing u might need to do is that you need to adjust the patch volume on both the patches ( or all the patches that u use)so they sound roughly the same while switching
Todos se olvidaron opinar en cuanto a la calidad de los componentes ya que eso hace mas durable una que otra... La g6 puedo poner dos chorus o 2 delay ...
Hi, they are both good, I don't see the music genre as a key differentiating factor. I would just suggest to check out the amps available in both the unit to verify if there are the ones you are searching for. Thank you for your message!
Hi Leandro, thank you so much, I'm super happy that you like the channel!!! Well, considering that at this price point, the main purpose of the unit would be to practice / recordin ideas, or for soma small gig, I would go with the unit that allows me to play the most around effect signal chain (i.e. parallel effects), the smallest one, and of course I love usb c...that usb port in the G6 is so frustrating...therefore I think I would go with the MG Thank you once more!
Just ordered the Nux MG-30 and looking forward for its arrival. It`s great how much you get here for that price. Also important for me, was the possibility to use 4 cable method!
When loopers come with drums, PLEASE see if they sync so that loops stop ON THE BAR and therefor cycle without going out of sync to the drums. Donner Circle looper does sync, and an early discontinued Zoom G3 did too but drum samples sucked. Loopers that don't sync USELESS; with digital BPM Circle looper, for example, will "synce" to external Beat Buddy (except where the BB's live drummer originally went "off measure" or beats with Swing, needing a little math divisible by 3 to discover the true BPM)! For me, that factoid would represent the point of make it or break it between multi-effects. The number of FX and cabs and mics and positioning often become time-consuming DISTRACTIONS.
Feel like it's kind of sad to see how far Zoom has fallen. They were one of the companies that was modeling and coming up with multi- fx processors before other companies. Feel like the Zoom G5N was successful but when they released the G11, soo much hype for a unit that was originally priced at $900+ went down $600 within a year. A used Helix LT is $700 and has exponentially more flexibility and options available. Feel like Zoom isn't really adapting to new technology (parallel paths, profiling, bass and guitar amps and cabs on one unit etc) and that's why they fail.
@@LeoGibsonGtr , I emailed Zoom last year after the G11 was released and stated that I'd love to see those options mentioned. Still haven't heard back. No "these are great points and recommendations. I'll pass them along to R&D". Can't say that I don't understand that I'm some nobody telling them what they should consider. I've emailed asking questions or given suggestions to Mooer and L6, they responded back and were very friendly. Probably the reason why they aren't in the same conversations as Fractal, Kemper, L6 and Neural DSP as they don't seem to adapt to the new technology that's been available for a little while.
The MG 30 clearly sounds better. But more gain sensitive than the real amp. The feel is amazing. And it comes with two extra Foot switches. Flexible signal chain and way better sounding effects.
Im a bedroom composer.. I played bass n guitar.. NUX MG 30 better on both instrument.. Nux dual DSP also a huge advantage.. Zoom need to drop their price if want to compete with China mfx...

I'd like a comparison between the MG-30, the GT-6 and the Line 6 Pod X3. See how these old pedals hold up against the MG.
So actually Zoom offer more?
Hi, it depends from your needs and what feature is more valuable for you.
Thanks
Todos se olvidaron opinar en cuanto a la calidad de los componentes ya que eso hace mas durable una que otra...
La g6 puedo poner dos chorus o 2 delay ...
What's better for metal going straight to PA only and why? Thanks.
Hi, they are both good, I don't see the music genre as a key differentiating factor. I would just suggest to check out the amps available in both the unit to verify if there are the ones you are searching for.
Thank you for your message!
Hi Leo. I'm a big fan of your channel. I have a question. If both units have the same price, what do you think would be the best deal?
Hi Leandro, thank you so much, I'm super happy that you like the channel!!! Well, considering that at this price point, the main purpose of the unit would be to practice / recordin ideas, or for soma small gig, I would go with the unit that allows me to play the most around effect signal chain (i.e. parallel effects), the smallest one, and of course I love usb c...that usb port in the G6 is so frustrating...therefore I think I would go with the MG
Thank you once more!
@@LeoGibsonGtr Thank You. This information Help me a lot!
I'm happy to have been of some help!
Great. Thanks
Hi, you are welcome! Thank you for your message!
Zoom's limited DSP is a serious handicap in all of its models.
Hi, thank you for sharing...yes, DSP power is pretty important for letting us to build the signal chain we want.
Please tell which one should i buy zoom g5n or nux mg30
Mg-30
I like ZOOM G6.. sound very good
Hi, thank you for sharing!
This must be the most Italian guy of all of time.
😀😀....yes, I'm Italian...
Just ordered the Nux MG-30 and looking forward for its arrival.
It`s great how much you get here for that price.
Also important for me, was the possibility to use 4 cable method!
Hi Ruben, thank you for sharing! Yes, you have amps, effects....these type of devices are pretty usefull...
Qual é melhor para ambiências?
Hi, hard to answer, I would say the one which allows parallel effects...
Thank you for your question!
The g6 sounds like real amplifiers, after you record you can modify dB and bits.
Hi, thank you for sharing!
Mg30 looks cool
Hi, thank you for sharing!
9:17 This is smart because I prefer Human Leo to ROBO-Leo anyway ;)
😀 Thank you!
Hi Mark, thank you for sharing....I'm not too much into looping....I will see if I can do something.
I think that the G6 needs more gain to sound like the others. Thank you, Leo.
I prefer NUX.
You are welcome, and thank you for sharing your opinion!
Hi Timothy...good analysis...and pretty solid points....
Thank you for sharing!
I like ZooM G6 is better sound
Ok, thank you for sharing!
Zoom cant undo overdrive loop
Hi, thank you for sharing
The MG 30 clearly sounds better. But more gain sensitive than the real amp. The feel is amazing. And it comes with two extra Foot switches. Flexible signal chain and way better sounding effects.
Hi, thank you for sharing!
Im a bedroom composer.. I played bass n guitar.. NUX MG 30 better on both instrument.. Nux dual DSP also a huge advantage.. Zoom need to drop their price if want to compete with China mfx...
Hi, thank you so much for sharing!
Zoom G6 is better Sound i saw david simpson demo it but the bad is it has plastic Cover...

@@LeoGibsonGtr Is the Nux touchscreen and able to control via bluetooth?
Hi, no it does not have a touch screen and can not be controlled via BT
Hi, no it does not have a touch screen and can not be controlled via BT
If you choose MG_30 than Zoom g6 you dont know nothing about Effect processor..
Hi, thank you for sharing your opinion
why are you saying this? what makes G6 better than MG 30? I am asking because I want to decide between them
Nux mg 30 imbatível
