But today's testimony all but sealed her fate in my view. She didn't do herself any favors as she tried desperately to convince the detectives of her selfless actions leadining up to Lynn's death. What a despicable human being! She continually asked, "what would I have to gain by killing her if she had no money left?" She's right. With only $84 remaining in her account what was left to steal. The answer is easy: not content with the $200k she had already stolen, there was still the condominium. But she couldn't steal that as long as the victim was occupying it. What a sleazebag!

It was my experience that most inmates actually gained weight during their incarceration. I know I did. And I'm aware of several contributing factors. 1st, if an inmate was lucky enough to have a friend or loved one putting money on their books, they typically gained weight because nearly all of the calories from commissary-purcased food were high in carbs (ramen soup, honey buns, cookies candy, etc). So unless you're doing strenuous exercises (which I would estimate that less than 20% of the San Mateo County Jail population actually did on any kind of regular basis in '05 & '06), you're more likely to be released looking like Pop 'n Fresh than you are Charles Atlas. (You probably have to be my age to know who they are. Sorry.) 2nd, and again from my experience, once you've spent any significant amount of time in a county lock up and interact with the population, you realize that nearly everyone is either directly or indirectly there because of substance abuse issues, ie drugs. Whether you're a dealer, a thief, or a wife beater, drugs are nearly always at the root. And it's just common sense that addicts generally gain weight when they're locked up (unless they're ill or being victimized). I could go on but I think I've made my point and I believe Jessy's weight loss has a lot to do with all of these: I guessing that no one is lining up to finance her junk food requirements, least of all her ex, I'm sure she's not the most popular inmate in her jail, and I'd be willing to bet that she's and alcoholic and possibly a drug addict. I didn't mean to go long with my explanation but the response required it as I have some knowledge in this department.

@johnqpublic... believe me when I say that I'm not in the least bit proud to say that I have some expertise in this matter, specifically 8 months in a county jail from 2005-2006. It was my experience that most inmates actually gained weight during their incarceration. I know I did. And I'm aware of several contributing factors. 1st, if an inmate was lucky enough to have a friend or loved one putting money on their books, they typically gained weight because nearly all of the calories from commissary-purcased food were high in carbs (ramen soup, honey buns, cookies candy, etc). So unless you're doing strenuous exercises (which I would estimate that less than 20% of the San Mateo County Jail population actually did on any kind of regular basis in '05 & '06), you're more likely to be released looking like Pop 'n Fresh than you are Charles Atlas. (You probably have to be my age to know who they are. Sorry.) 2nd, and again from my experience, once you've spent any significant amount of time in a county lock up and interact with the population, you realize that nearly everyone is either directly or indirectly there because of substance abuse issues, ie drugs. Whether you're a dealer, a thief, or a wife beater, drugs are nearly always at the root. And it's just common sense that addicts generally gain weight when they're locked up (unless they're ill or being victimized). I could go on but I think I've made my point and I believe Jessy's weight loss has a lot to do with all of these: I guessing that no one is lining up to finance her junk food requirements, least of all her ex, I'm sure she's not the most popular inmate in her jail, and I'd be willing to bet that she's and alcoholic and possibly a drug addict. I didn't mean to go long with my explanation but the response required it as I have some knowledge in this department.

Interrogations are always powerful, but they’re often 4-5 hours straight, but this way is so much easier for the jury.
What a cruel, cruel woman. Not only did she kill someone that loved her so much, but she did it in a way that was miserable and embarrassing, with the diarrhea and everything. Poor Lynn was so ashamed and frustrated and confused all leading up to her murder. 😢

The mother is definitely involved. Her bills were being paid with Lynn’s mother. The mother also went with Jessy the day after Lynn died to open the safety deposit box at the bank. And when the cops arranged to have the safety deposit box opened, it was empty. Hmmmm. But I do think the boyfriend had to know at some level Jessy was using Lynn’s money. Thousands of dollars spent at bars and casinos.
