Nice video! 😉 O.O.K 👌🏼💙 And you're RIGHT! Complicating, speeding up and cheapening what was once great and beloved. Not only does UK Pavilion just need SOMETHING.... it could get something timeless and significant. Walt's final film plus in a compelling 3d dark ride format like Horizons you say?..... man you've sold that to me! I'm IN! 😉👌🏼💙
Jordan, once again you took me down memory lane. It would be great if Disney would stir up the those memories too. I know so many people want thrill rides but it's also very nice to ride a slow ride, relax, and take in the atmosphere of the ride.
In my personal opinion I feel like the best option for a Mary poppins ride would be similar to soarin therefore I feel it wouldn’t be appropriate for Epcot. The ride carts are shaped like clouds and float through the sky through cherry tree lane, past the admirals house, over the chimney sweeps dancing on the roof, into the street paintings and along slide the merry go round horse race, past the bank, watch the family fly the kite and finally we peer through the window of the nursery as Mary sings the children to sleep. It could begin with us seeing Katie nana storming out of the house below and the children’s advert for a nanny flying up past the screen. And if they have to use Mary poppins returns (🙄) on the streets with the street sweeps, into the bowl, underwater, past Big Ben to turn back the clock, and end that portion at the fair. I also feel like going with the Emily blunt Mary poppins is a huge mistake and pray they go for the superior Julie andrews one. Regardless I’m sure Travers would NOT be pleased that this is being planned
Mary Poppins deserves a great ride in Epcot... it's a perfect fit for the UK pavilion... hopefully it'll get done in the future... and if it does, let's hope Disney learn the lesson of Galaxy's Edge, and base it on the original, not the disappointing sequel
What might’ve worked as an appropriate ride could’ve used somewhat CLASSIC EPCOT RIDE TECHNOLOGY...have the ride start with that carousel opener, but done like the turntable opening of the original Journey into Imagination...then, as we reach the end of the turntable, we then break off and just have the horse race through a dark ride building...classic and simple
The EPCOT of yesteryear is so much more mystifying than the EPCOT of today. It's still probably my favorite of the parks just for the world showcase, but if future world still exhibited the awesome vision of the future that it once did it would solidify its position as number one for me. Living with the Land and Spaceship Earth are a couple of my favorite rides. I enjoy the IP injected replacements but, as you said in the video, they are cheap thrills in comparison. Capitalism is a hell of a drug.
EPCOT today is much different, but like you say, its got a lot of quality still. I hope they can strike a proper balance... and think they might. By the time EPCOT turns 50, when the woes of 2020 are far behind, who knows what kind of experience it could be.
Really wish you could’ve been there in Classic Epcot, my friend....you seem to love it with the nostalgic eye of someone who deserved to have been there...but, as someone who grew up as Epcot did, neither one of us should still be anything like we were in 1983 or 1987 or even 1992, even if sometimes we desperately want to be...I’m not so blinded by nostalgia that I can’t see this...(what makes me a bit sad was that I don’t have the faith that I did, just a short time ago, before all of the darkness, that we’re going to get that timeless Epcot that Bob Cheap-ek promised us...I just can’t trust the man, sorry)
At the VERY least, he seemed to genuinely fanboy at Dick Van Dyke in a way that I might similarly. (who am I kidding, it would be ugly if I met the DVD) That gives me a glimmer of hope that he appreciates some aspects of the classic ways of things. I know the buck stops with him now, but hopefully Josh can fight a little harder for the little things that have big results.
Ok... I pray to every thing that is good in this world that you are correct about this and that they are just putting it on hold and not canning it... this is too special to be canned, too "Disney" to turn down
Sorry but Disney is losing its Magic! They need more anamatronics! Lighting shows are not original! They do not stay with you when you leave! Illuminations reflections of earth was the best show ever! I love that you mention magical and whimsical! Disney is losing that feeling!

Saw this thumbnail and clicked so fast! I see what YOU did there 😉 8:11
🤣 Yep... Poppins and I go way back! (That was actually in the now demo'd Innoventions building at EPCOT... so... #FATED)

100 percent agree! Balance is key!
I CRIED when this announced..... and I cried after the second announcement.

I definitely want Poppins to be an audio-animatronic dark ride... but I'd ride this in a second!
So I think Jordan is secretly working at WDW and leaking their ideas 😎

Exactly. I know 2020 is likely the reason for the delay, but I hope it serves as a different kind of kickstart.
If the UK Pavilion needed a Maelstrom-esque dark ride, they could do it on The Sword In the Stone

That's a brilliant/classic way to accomplish the Jolly Holiday sequences, actually!

@@HappyPlaceExplorers Hopefully, Josh HAS HIS JOB SOON ENOUGH!
Just hoping he doesn't go Harvey Dent on us.
