I think a Mary Poppins attraction or perhaps a stage show is a wonderful idea. I understand the appeal of Frozen, Star Wars and Marvel but Mary Poppins is a classic that I believe could be released to a brand new generation of audience.
We need this ride at Epcot!!! Come on Disney! Get your act together!! This a fantastic idea! Why after all these years has Mary not received her own ride or attraction at Disney??!! It’s one of the most beloved Disney movies of all time!! My addition would be to turn the London street or town into cherry tree lane! And we should add a street show of chimney sweeps in the uk that perform step in time!
This honestly blows my mind, because as a child, I always thought Disney should build a Mary Poppins ride! My idea was to have it be sort of like Peter Pan's Flight, or Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, where you would board vehicles suspended from the ceiling, like Peter Pan's Flight, and design the ride vehicles to be carousel horses from the chalk world, with some sit down vehicles with open umbrellas, that resemble the umbrella Mary Poppins uses to fly, on the sides of the vehicles, and those vehicles would be for the guests in wheelchairs that might have a hard time getting onto the carousel horses. And then you would go through the chalk world, like how Mary, Bert, Jane and Michael do in the movie, riding past the café scene and some dancing penguin animatronics, and then accidentally ending up in the horse race-- which would end with the guests winning, and riding past the band playing Supercalifragilisticexpealidocious, and looping back to the loading station, which would have a mural like the classic Disney rides, which would have been the hills and pathway of Bert's chalk drawing that the characters jump into in the movie.
If Disney doesn't build this, it might seem interesting to at least include a CGI version on the next home video release of _Mary Poppins_, similar to the virtual ride included with _The Little Mermaid_.
after thinking about it for a while, I have one issue with the ride. And that would be how would children ride this ride on their own? for a parent to take a child with them the the carousel horse would have to have two seats. front and back would be fine but that kind of spoils the idea of your on a horse. unless this ride would not be suitable for children to ride, I'm not sure how you could do it. That also eliminates any folks with disabilities. as I'm writing this I'm also coming up with a solution. You could also have a bench seat that would work in the same fashion coming off of the carousel. I don't know that it would look great with them all being bench seats because you kind of ruin the idea of the scene of the Steeplechase of carousel horses. but occasional bench seats might work for folks with disabilities or folks with small children.
there'll be a sequel, Mary Poppins Returns, coming this 2018. That would be the perfect time for Disney to implement this, given if the new movie is a huge success at the box office.
I predict a Mary Poppins attraction at Epcot's UK pavilion will be approved and announced at the D23 Expo sometime around August 25, 2019 ;-) ;-) Ready to "step in time"? ;-)
if I'm right in saying they'll be a new Mary Poppins movie then they should create this ride for that! I could be wrong. Certainly looks fascinating though!
For some reason, Disney seems to think that for a ride to be relevant, it, one, must be based on a movie, and, two, must be based on a recent movie. Hell, I was born in 84 and I grew up watching Mary Poppins. I knew all about films like the Swiss Family Robinson too, so I totally got the treehouse. That was way before my time. And Mary Poppins is certainly more relevant to today's culture to Swiss Family.
Not gonna work. MARY POPPINS is not a very action-oriented genre; and it's but not even touchy-feely. So except perhaps for Uncle what's-name, the chimney sweeps and the penguins, there really isn't much going on there. Plus, in terms of Star Wars action, etc., it's going to be a very TAME ride -- hence, it had such appeal many years ago, it would already have been executed. And I don't think the MP2 sequel will be as great a hit as the first one. Shaiman and Wittman (composers of the new score) aren't anywhere near the magic of the Sherman brothers' score. Emily Blunt? She's not as wholesome as Julie Andrews.
Tony Baxter is a national treasure - and it's criminal that Disney never made that ride, or something very close to it - it's a no brainer!!!
WHY ARE WE NOT DEMANDING DISNEY MAKE THIS?!
It’s SO beautiful!!!
This ride is amazing and would be a fantastic addition to the England pavilion at Epcot.
niastyle - Say again ma'am?? Lol. Mary's comin'!
Exactly!
The UK pavilion of Epcot’s World Showcase is already getting an expansion inspired by the classic film!

Ok, this better be the ride they're making now.
OMG! Its literally just been announced that theres going to be Mary Poppins Attraction at Epcot! Our prayers have been answered!
PLEEEEAAAAASSSSSEEEE MAKE THIS A RIDE! It is just natural to make a ride out of this Tony. It just is.

That would be an amazing ride! Love the concept and the art work was superb!
BUILD IT
This would still be an AMAZING ride!
you're right - i think everyone would like this ride too!! ;)
That would be a ride worth waiting two hours to go on!
Please make this a real ride! It sounds absolutely out of this world!
Tony... I would LOVE that ride!! (I'm not even that much a fan of that particular movie... but... the ride concept sounds fantastic!!)

That ride looked pretty amazing! I think a different ride concept for that film would be perfect for the UK pavilion of Epcot’s World Showcase!
I really hope that this is the exact idea they are set to start installing in the UK Pavillion at Epcot. I had this same idea when I was a kid!

MAKE THIS RIDE REAL !!!
that ride would be amazing! aren't there rumors about a Mary Poppins attraction in Epcot? just make this!

Folks? The Attraction is only on hold, Chapek said. We're STILL GETTING IT
I would definitely ride this! What an out-of-the-box concept. Hopefully there is something brewing over at WDI 😏
Please, please, please make this.
Please! Please! Pleaseeeee!!! Make this a thing!!!
MARY!!!
There is a movie remake coming. So you never know...
Oh! Can you imagine that?
Love. This.
If you do this, have people feel like they are on the rooftops at some point.
this is what we SHOULD be getting instead of another Dumbo clone.
Nice!
It'd be a great way to spice up Epcot's UK pavilion. Either that or an Alice in Wonderland attraction.
The Walt Disney World Resort needs more carousel rides for the other three parks Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom!

Fall 2019 ;)
Too bad this will NEVER see the light of day since it's NOT Frozen, Pixar, Marvel or StarWars.........
Yeah, yeah, I get it. Marketing. Lame joke. I'm sure this attraction might happen someday, sequel or not.
Agreed. Hopefully Disney doesn't invest so much into what's trending. And maybe make something original again for once.
They're doing a new attraction for Typhoon Lagoon and that looks original
.
He sill alive

If only. ☹️
