Decided to cook some lunch at my camp in the woods while exploring.
    Got chewed up by mosquitoes.
    Had fun.
Today I use some things given to me by some of my friends. Most of them I’ve met in person and the others I feel like I have...
    ‪@CheezeheadChris‬ (Coleman 502 camp stove)
    ‪@doinsngoins‬ (MSR Fuel Bottle)
    ‪@Thomas_M76‬ (Walking Stick)
    ‪@oldschoolwithamoderntwist6074‬ (Leather Pouch)
    ‪@wvoutdoorsman5326‬ (Spice Kit)
    ‪@diydarkmatter‬ (Pipe)
    ‪@pacificbushcraftconsortium3813‬ (T Shirt)

Now I know why Gandolf carries a stick. I make my insect repellent for pennies on the dollar using sulphur. Effective against mosquitoes & chiggers. Sulphur was used by WWII troops and sprinkled over open wounds, it’s great for your skin and outlast commercial insect repellent‘s. Sulphur is the active ingredient in chigger repellent but is $15 for 3 oz. The other ingredient is mineral oil. Good looking meal. It gave me a craving for cabbage.

    • @MarkKratzMC

People pay big money for mineral baths. To me chigger bites are worse than mosquito bites or fire ant bites since they last for weeks. I looked at sulphur repellent and it has two ingredients, sulfur and mineral oil. Commercial repellent doesn’t work in theTexas heat because the sweat just washes it right off. The odor of sulfur remains and lasts for hours. I’d like to see how it works against those mosquitoes. It might even discourage those yellow jackets. Link in this comment section

I don't need to be patient. If a brussel sprout touched any other food parts, I'm out. I don't recall seeing that big a$$ stove before. Hope it keeps you warm in a few months. Can't believe it took you 18 minutes in that heat to search out a proper stump.

I made that chiminea out of the water heater from the house that was originally on that property. It was the only thing left. It is made out of “monel”. It easily weighs 100 pounds. I’m sure I could get $250-$300 for it at the scrap yard, but it was free to me. Make no mistake, I’d sell in it in a second to buy beer. I’ve had it at my house for five or six years, but the wife said it was time for it to go somewhere else. I think it will be great at my camp this winter

that yellow jacket wanted to camp with ya brother . lol. food looked good . i would have added water to that to helps the taters cook faster and dont burn them . i like Brussel sprouts to there almost like mini cabbages . do you like cabbage if so the next time you do some Dutch oven cooking you should try a nice boiled diner . just a nice roast beef is best . pork roast is good to but it can be real fatty . any veggies you like taters corn carrots Brussel sprouts . broccoli cauliflower . but man you put a small head of cabbage in with it and add about two or three cups of water or beef broth if you use water you will need a bouillon cube . then let it slow cook for three or four hours . the meat will fall apart on its own when its finished . best to add the veggies about a half hour to a hour before you want to eat . once its all finished if you add a little cold water and corn starch to the liquids it will make a nice gravy . be sure to watch your broth as it cooks unless you seal the dutch oven with dough . it will evaporate and burn your food . thanks for the mention brother . cant wait for cast iron videos that are coming . but i do enjoy the camp videos as well . 😁
