I was quite pissed with DS in the beginning. Then it became a boring but mundane part of my life for a couple of weeks. At one point I even turned the difficulty down just to hurry things up. Now that I have finished it, I miss it so much. I miss those long lonely laborious walks, those contemplations whether to ride the bike full speed ahead in a BT infested area or walk slowly past them stealthily or take them on in combat. I miss the risk of facing the bigger BTs. I miss the solitude in the destitute environment of DS. I miss the action Clifford Unger (Mads Mikkelsen) brought with him and even more than that the emotional reality of his character. I miss all its characters. DS is now resting right in front of me in its box but I miss it. I was too quick to judge the game and thought Kojima has overstretched it with this one but in retrospect, it was a perfect game. Thank you, Hideo Kojima, for this slow effecting drug, for this beautiful journey.
I love how you have a lot of side activities that are actually useful, sure, GTA V has golf races and whatnot, but everything you do in this game is worth something, wether it be recovering lost stuff, contribuiting materials, laying structures in strategical points, hell, even signs help other players
@signoguns I agree with you except I don't agree that it's boring. I think you're just used to a certain type of game that in comparison you find this boring. But Kojima made a point of steering away from that and we ended up with this 🤷♂️
Kojima would be so proud of you for this video. I'm glad I noticed most of these amazing things. I'm 210 hours in, and STILL not done!!! Here's some more things I've discovered: • You can taunt BTs and Catchers as well with the call button. • Sometimes other players who died while hunting BT Catchers, they'll help you by tossing you items! • If you die, you can use the call button while in the Seam, find other players' souls, and touch them to "connect" with them, and you can even obtain their lost items! You can also scan with the Odradek, and swim faster using the boost button (R3) and if you want to just load your last save, you can swim up to Sam's charred body, and hold down the triangle button, and you'll see a black, tar version of BB instead, and the camera goes down its throat, and takes you to "Load Game" screen! • Sometimes BTs are made of fire, blood, or even gold! The ones trapped in the snow can be set free by peeing on them. lol • Sam talks in his sleep; "Oh no, no one's home!" "It hurts." Amelie, thank god!" "Just a little longer." etc. and eventually BB makes that shush, 2 point gesture like Cliff did. • While Sam is soothing BB, the Odradek droops down and spins slowly just like a mobile. (Those rotating ornament things above babies in their cribs) • If you get Sam drunk (when beers are available in the private room) and "Check on BB" he'll make a complete ass out of himself, and make weird faces, taunting BB, and flop back on his bed. Also, he'll sometimes trash his table and knock everything over. lol • The expressions on the porters' faces change if they're tired, scared, or happy (at least their eyes are visible) and if you knock them out or attack them, their eyes bug out or roll into their head and become bloodshot. (I beat them as an experiment) they'll also give you dislikes for being a dickhead. Using photo mode was how I discovered this one. lol • If you keep the camera on Sam long enough in the private room, he'll stand up and "check on it" and put it back and give you a thumbs up. • In the mirror, if you pose for the camera and snap it at just the right time when he does that "guns" gesture, you'll receive 45 likes from BB, and you can do this up to 5 times in a row. You can also blow raspberries in the mirror for about 30-something likes. If Sam's face is dirty, you won't get as many likes! So you need to shower first. • While in the hot springs, you can sing, BB will dance, and the signs or structures left by other players nearby will sing along, and you'll get likes from all of them after! If you had either Mama or the Chiral Artist with you, they'll sing along as well. *SPOILERS:* • The Elder eventually dies, and you can see his hologram as a BT! • When you no longer have BB with you (for a short time in the game) you can call out to her and he'll say things like, "Hang on kid!" and "Hey, Lou..." etc. It was so touching. I discover new things CONSTANTLY. I love this game so much.
Hideo Kojima is the rare type who dares to do things differently, dare to create something new and unique unlike other game companies just rippin off each other to make cash grab games. I am glad i was born in the same generation as this man, really a diamond in a haystack. Looking forward to his future ideas and creations
Thanksgiving is usually a tough time for me as my family doesn't get along very well and i usually spend the whole day holed up in my room as i have nobody to spend it with; at 12:30 when Sam said "You Should have more faith in yourself" i couldn't help but feel emotional since it's been a overall tough year, and i guess i need to have more faith in myself... :(
I knew they were contextual because from the moment I learned that you have a dedicated button to "pick with left hand" and one for "pick with right hand" I knew that the animations system would be pretty complex and amazing.
Fun fact for Sam’s gestures. Norman (Sam’s actor) would always improvise things because it’s sometime to do stuff so he would fidget alot and Hideo liked it a lot he kept telling him to continue the same things while camera was on him
this game is such a fresh air.. where the game industry is saturated with kill-to-survive and trust no one tropes in post apocalyptic setting, kojima presented a post apocalyptic game where you NEED to trust people and reconnect with them instead. a relaxing, slow-paced and not overwhelmed by action despite a massive extinction is near, where brutal violence isn't always the answer. death stranding is an anomaly, and that's why it got so many varied opinions. i'm sure death stranding can be the start of inspiration for other post apocalyptic new games in the future
You described and summarized it perfectly. The slow pace and feel of loneliness mixed with the subtle reminder that you are connect with others during this journey is a really unique and gratifying feeling. I dont know why, but it's just a great sight seeing other people's structures out and about there to help you, knowing they were there too even though you'll never see them in person. So close yet so far type of feeling. I love it kojima really put his heart into this game if you look beyond simple deliveries.
I had put 62 hours in by the end but I spent an insane amount to time raiding mule camps for materials and building roads. I got pretty addicted to that part of the game and stopped doing missions for days before I got back on with the story.
Heres one i havent seen on YT yet! When youre driving on a road, if you swing the camera to the side a bit so it drags through structures and lightposts, it will make a ‘whooshing’ sound. Vpleasing
Great video about a magnificent game! ❤ Another detail: When you play it in December (especially around Christmas), all the co-workers at the stations will wear Santa hats.
@@jppitax what's awkward about giving compliment to a beautiful Woman? And it's fucking UA-cam comment she can choose to ignore it not like he went to her face and said it.
Death Stranding enchanted me like Shadow of the Colossus did back in 2005, what an incredible experience I just finished it yesterday and I've been down ever since
Forever grateful that I'm one of those lucky, open-minded individuals who allowed themselves to experience this game unbiased and uncorrupted by the opinions of others.
Peace be with who reads this, Music that is used in the video is from Death Stranding (Original Score): Strands by Ludvig Forssell. It can be found on Spotify Hope it helps
One small detail that i found out to be pretty cool was that when it starts raining then small plants will quickly grow, change color, wither and die in just a few seconds.
@@kwilkinson7707 I just found that out! That's awesome. But it should start off as a huge yellow puddle that eventually a bunch of cryptobiotes build a coral mound in the middle of that you can then eat from, lol.
Nobody thinks its "Hip" to hate on the game, either your gonna love the peaceful nature of being a glorified postman or your not. This game is beautiful sure and the concepts are really cool but the gameplay isn't anything mindblowing.
@@MrHappymanx While yes, the game isn't for everybody. But it's not out-of-reach to say that there are some who hate the game because Kojima is a well-respected and well-loved developer and they think it's cool to be on the other end of the spectrum. Think of it this way, nobody cared about farming simulators, or trucker simulators, or even sports simulators. But when Kojima releases a delivery simulator, there are many who are quick to be in-arms about the game.
I mean finally we get a AAA game that glorifies normal type people with problems. So glad Metal Gear is dead. Half of that fan base is just freaks who get hard because of guns.
It's to me one of the greatest of all time. No game is perfect, but this one's detail is so astonishing and everything is so impressive that I will never forget it.
The first time I ever came across a porter I didn't know there were other NPCs in the game besides MULEs and accidentally beat him up and got docked 100 likes.😬
I shot at them with the anti assault rifle. They were underneath the time shelter. I was fucking suprised that they didn't fight back. Now to find out they were actually partners I feel bad lol how do I get the mule trucks too???? Need some help on that. I'm tired of the traverse bikes.
I must have discovered them outside a mule area because I was nothing but nice to them. Gave them Likes and graciously accepted their stuff. I didn't learn you could trade with them until late in the game.
People mock this game for being a walking simulator but I found it really captivating somehow, and the game makes you feel the struggle of getting across tough terrain. It helps that the environment graphics are awesome imo. I like to walk around nature in real life too so this game was perfect for me.
Next video will be on Modern Warfare :)

Impulse 2152 😂😂😂😂
There's even an achievement for trading with them :)

The feet thing? My worst nightmare.

Kojima would be so proud of you for this video. I'm glad I noticed most of these amazing things. I'm 210 hours in, and STILL not done!!!
Here's some more things I've discovered:
• You can taunt BTs and Catchers as well with the call button.
The ones trapped in the snow can be set free by peeing on them. lol
• Sam talks in his sleep; "Oh no, no one's home!" "It hurts." Amelie, thank god!" "Just a little longer." etc. and eventually BB makes that shush, 2 point gesture like Cliff did.
• While Sam is soothing BB, the Odradek droops down and spins slowly just like a mobile. (Those rotating ornament things above babies in their cribs)
• If you get Sam drunk (when beers are available in the private room) and "Check on BB" he'll make a complete ass out of himself, and make weird faces, taunting BB, and flop back on his bed. Also, he'll sometimes trash his table and knock everything over. lol
• The expressions on the porters' faces change if they're tired, scared, or happy (at least their eyes are visible) and if you knock them out or attack them, their eyes bug out or roll into their head and become bloodshot. (I beat them as an experiment) they'll also give you dislikes for being a dickhead. Using photo mode was how I discovered this one. lol
• If you keep the camera on Sam long enough in the private room, he'll stand up and "check on it" and put it back and give you a thumbs up.
*SPOILERS:*
• The Elder eventually dies, and you can see his hologram as a BT!

Praying for you bro
Same thing happened to me. Having one of the worst years of my life. Sam’s comments and the game itself has been therapeutic
Didn't even start the video yet, but I had to like it because i love the work you do, mang.
Thank you, I appreciate it!
This isn’t just a game for me personally.. it’s an amazing experience... It’s hard for me to shake..
This isn’t a game for me this is a lifestyle 😅😂
6:33 for the first time I see those animations I thought it was scripted but damn...
Nice job Kojima
I love those animations whenever Sam does it
I knew they were contextual because from the moment I learned that you have a dedicated button to "pick with left hand" and one for "pick with right hand" I knew that the animations system would be pretty complex and amazing.
Fun fact for Sam’s gestures. Norman (Sam’s actor) would always improvise things because it’s sometime to do stuff so he would fidget alot and Hideo liked it a lot he kept telling him to continue the same things while camera was on him
"Sam, deliver this tower of 20kg plant samples to East Africa on foot."
60 hours in and still hadn't noticed some of these. What a great game.
Death Stranding is probably Kojima's love letter to the hard working delivery persons everywhere.
Fun fact:
"Strand" in german means "beach"
In dutch to
In Stephen King's The Dark Tower he describes the main character walking along the strand.
Same in Afrikaans
Danish as well ❤
In Indian too
this game is such a fresh air.. where the game industry is saturated with kill-to-survive and trust no one tropes in post apocalyptic setting, kojima presented a post apocalyptic game where you NEED to trust people and reconnect with them instead. a relaxing, slow-paced and not overwhelmed by action despite a massive extinction is near, where brutal violence isn't always the answer. death stranding is an anomaly, and that's why it got so many varied opinions. i'm sure death stranding can be the start of inspiration for other post apocalyptic new games in the future
I enjoy the game cause its relaxing and I enjoy the helping others online deal as well
Hell yeah man, thats the stuff 👌👌👌
Consider becoming a game critic
Nice video dude.
Love your work too cap!
Did u notice, that when Sam sleeps BB moves his hand just as Cliff c:
If you spend too much time out in a cold/snow, Sam will have a frostbite, both on hand and feet.
Beat the game yesterday and the ending was phenomenal
How many hours do u play everyday in this game?
@@nemasuuuu1208 well I played for at least 4 hours on my days off I clocked in a total of 47 hrs but some take a little longer.
I had put 62 hours in by the end but I spent an insane amount to time raiding mule camps for materials and building roads. I got pretty addicted to that part of the game and stopped doing missions for days before I got back on with the story.
@@hanyolo2011 yea I built a few roads too, also a bunch of safe houses and charging stations
What do you do after the story?
Heres one i havent seen on YT yet!
When youre driving on a road, if you swing the camera to the side a bit so it drags through structures and lightposts, it will make a ‘whooshing’ sound. Vpleasing
Great video about a magnificent game! ❤ Another detail: When you play it in December (especially around Christmas), all the co-workers at the stations will wear Santa hats.

@@MISTAH.XBetter question, are you guys hype about DS2?
@@MMinz26 Of course. Always hyped when its made by Hideo Kojima himself
My reaction to number 10
"I'mma call em thumbshrooms from now on"
How about the fact that Sam can literally get frostbite from being in the cold
Kojima always has an obsurd amount of details in his games, look at each mgs game. Sets his games far above others in its genre in that regard.
I'm somone that appreciates detail A LOT. I get excited about the smallest things that they add and this game has a lot of it
Video: you get a happy birthday email when you log onto your birthday
Mgsv: am I a joke to you?
12:32 ❤️ "You should have more faith in yourself"
That snow melting bit made me realize the sheer strength Sam's stream has, no wonder even BTs are scared of the thing jeez it's a lazer

Finally.. i've been waiting the details of Death Stranding from you. 👍
You should have included the part where Cliff sings you happy birthday on your birthday
17:36 how men deal with harassment.

The spots on the mushrooms are actually Likes.
One small detail that i found out to be pretty cool was that when it starts raining then small plants will quickly grow, change color, wither and die in just a few seconds.
I wish peeing on the snow left yellow snow, and works like signs do so that other players could see it and drop some likes.
Peeing does works like signs, only enough people need to pee in the same spot, it grows a big pile of mushrooms and collects cryptobiotes
@@kwilkinson7707 I just found that out! That's awesome. But it should start off as a huge yellow puddle that eventually a bunch of cryptobiotes build a coral mound in the middle of that you can then eat from, lol.
Easily the best game of the year, IMO. I can't believe this game isn't more appreciated than it is.
This game is purely amazing. I’ve been trapped and entranced.
I know its late and you may know it, but you can tell the Porters hello by pressing the select button.
Amazing game.. Too bad a lot of people think its "hip" to hate on this game.
Half of that fan base is just freaks who get hard because of guns.
one detail missing..when you stalk the porters they should ask you what you want or acknowledge you are following them lol
It's to me one of the greatest of all time. No game is perfect, but this one's detail is so astonishing and everything is so impressive that I will never forget it.
If you come out of a private room on your birthday you go into BB's Vision with Cliff Unger wishing you a happy birthday and giving you a bouquet.
This game is magical. I love Kojima
that happy birthday email hits way too hard when you're alone most of the time

I0 or 15 years death stranding will still hold up and it will become a cult classic
No one:
Sam: Gotta work on those core muscles
the Odradek has various moves too when you're leaving dangerous area. sometime it's like waving hand, pat Sam in the back, or give Sam a thumbs up.
Sam: Oof ouch I have to step on these pointy rocks oof ouch my feet
Sam when he gets into the Safehouse: TOENAIL BE GONE
imagine being so lonely that a game is the only one to remember and wish you a happy birthday
reedus kinda sounds like a new gen snake

And looks like Keanu Reeves that played Big Boss
If you play the alert music from Metal gear solid during boss fights, you wont regret it

@@Yahriel that he does, that. He. Does
Another fun note that you can even see in the video by chance, at 7:52 you can see BB do Clifford's hand signs to his undead soldiers.
*"So.. I guess there will be another hundred or thousand for this one.."*
Or both
He trashes his table in the private room after you drink 4 or more beers
The first time I ever came across a porter I didn't know there were other NPCs in the game besides MULEs and accidentally beat him up and got docked 100 likes.😬
myscrnnm lol I did the same thing except I ran them over with a mule truck.
You appreciate more of the game with all of these details. Its just amazing!
Just like in MGSV, small mechanically related details will be emerging from this game for the next couple of years.
That's pretty incredible Actually.
By maxing out your bond with The Musician, you also get a harmonica to play BB's Theme on while resting.
There's so much love in this game
People mock this game for being a walking simulator but I found it really captivating somehow, and the game makes you feel the struggle of getting across tough terrain. It helps that the environment graphics are awesome imo. I like to walk around nature in real life too so this game was perfect for me.
