Hi emmar, I remember having similar issues when I first started. Usually both players need to click start. I'll wait til I have another multiplayer match with a friend and check the steps we go through to start our matches.
I checked with a friend to confirm the steps. With the version I'm running v1.8042 (old UI), when you both appear in the same room you need to bring up the eleven table tennis menu first using the 'B' button on the controller. Then need to select either 'Strict' for ranked or 'Casual' for unranked checkboxes as your game type. Your opponent needs to perform the same steps also. The game will automatically start after you both do that and you'll play 3 matches before being prompted to select the game type again. Hope this helps!
Hi Jeff, I've had a look online to see if doubles is available yet. From what I can tell it is only available in the beta version. I'm running the latest 1.842 and there's no doubles mode available. Here's a demo of the beta where 4 players are playing doubles: ua-cam.com/video/_Pt9HyuiTjs/v-deo.html I used to play penant in a lower league comp at my local table tennis club a long time ago and taking turns to hit in doubles was very challenging. i.e. stepping out of the way after you hit. I'm not sure how they'll simulate this when the doubles feature is released.
@@SuperEvenSteven sorry, what I meant was singles against a friend. Not doubles. Like if I wanted to play a friend on a separate quest either nex to me in my house or remote/offsite. Basically, can I setup a private singles game to play a friend?
Oh sorry, yes you absolutely can 😀 That was how I played my friend John in the video. We're friends through Oculus which helps speed up the match making session. The way we did it was by both of us joining the same Oculus party in the quest menus. Then the party leader starts the game and the other member of the party clicks the 'travel to' option on the party leaders avatar. You then both appear in the same room ready to start a match. I will admit that this method can be a bit finicky sometimes but it worked well for us most of the time. Also note that both players need the game purchased and installed on both headsets.
@@SuperEvenSteven Hi, I was trying to play with my friend but when we both traveled to the room, there is an AI player next to us and we didn’t know how to get rid of it. Is there anything we need to choose in the setting?
Hi Kelly, I've noticed that same behaviour also once. I think it's a bug in the game that rarely occurs, but when it does its annoying to get rid of. When it happened to me we tried leaving our party and taking turns to try and recreate the room but we still had the issue. From memory, I think we both restarted our quest 2 headsets to fix it. Hope that helps!
how did you set up your match, because for some reason whenever i play with someone it doesn't keep track of our points

@@SuperEvenSteven Thank you so much
Can you play with family or a friend? Vs strangers.
