I love these 20 turn Legendary guides... Really useful, even for noobs like me who don't do legendary.... Can i make a suggestion? At the end of the 20 turns you show us a doom stack... Show us what we should be working towards to make the best Army for that particular Lord/Faction.
This is actually a great suggestion. 👌 These guides really help me get a grip on what I should be aiming for, so explaining what doomstacks to build up to would be grand!
That was your better guide so far, imo. Lot of details + we can really see that you're in your element when playing with the Tomb Kings. The real challenge will be for you to do the same things with the races that you don't like.
I found this immensely useful. I know you've mentioned you aren't a huge fan of savage orcs but I would really appreciate seeing the first 20 turns on legendary.
My first legend difficulty game was with clan angrund. what a pain it was. wish i had your tutorials back then. Ultimately found a nice battlefield with a chokepoint in front of my city, put my stack of 14 rangers with a bit of cheap melee support there and let all the enemy stacks run into that for the first 15ish turns. it was the ultimate cheese, but gave me enough breathing room to get a foot on the ground. That being said ill now treat myself to your tomb king video, another faction ive struggled with in the past
I like To go for the necrotect at the Event, embed him and take the ritual. That gives you an instant tier 3settlement, which ist super nice. Might be too risky for legendary tho
I would like to see a guide on the Skaven or to be more specific one on Clan Mors. A Friend and I want to play a Coop Campaign as Skaven on Mortal Empires on Legendary but he has never played as Skaven on Legendary. Note:He has played about 100h as Skaven and also about 150h as Greenskins because they have a similar playstyle.
Clan Mors has a really easy start in ME, only the orcs to your south will attack you until Krok'gar actually borders you. You can ambush them with 2 armies over and over then reduce them to 1 settlement and just farm them for xp until you get tired of it pretty much.
I find that in mortal empires, it’s best to leave top knots to be killed by someone like strygos or wurzag. That way you won’t need to waste 20 turns taking galbaraz and you can focus on other tomb kings as well as Bretonnia.
Really? I found her easier than Tyrion due to the starting BoA and Treeguard bois. Gaean Vale is not as good as Lothern but the tree peeps and archers working together should be able to take on dark elves pretty well as long as you focus on taking out the darkshards *or* waste the ammo with cheese. Start building the artillery building on turn 1. Sweep through your starting province and then sweep north through the gate. The gate is the only tough battle so I cheese the hell out of it.
Just started a legendary Alarielle campaign recently, struggled a few times. If you're struggling with taking gates, just wait on them until you have eagle claws to shoot down those towers. Very winnable after that. Also, rush Sisters of Avelorn. Focus growth in your home state, get Gaean to T3, build that sisters building and pump them out. They kill everything. Don't declare any wars; let the other elves come at you when they will as you deal with Khaine. By the time they get their shit together and declare war, you should have taken a gate, which can definitely hold its own against the Khaine armies coming from the outer edge of Ulthuan. Try to befriend Chrace and have them harrass Khaine for you. They'll soften them up and are an easy confederation later. And make sure you're targetting as much public order benefits as you can. Alarielle has a bunch, so does the tech tree. Tyrion does too, when you eventually confederate him, and Alith Anar has EVEN MORE. You can lock down public order across the map with no problems, once the three of them are levelled appropriately. Just don't focus too hard on fast expansion at the start. Secure things at Gaean Vale, let the gate hold back Khaine, and mop things up as they come. Build walls on your minor settlements if you don't feel safe leaving them.
Get Skavenslaves instead of Clanrats to save money. You'll need it. Skavenslaves hold the line while your artillery and ratling guns mow everything down. Get the endless drum upgrade for ratling guns from forbidden workshop on turn one
Three things that will help me was the stance to wait out so the enemy doesn't leave, or don't attack too fast to let them come out and kicking out the Heros to get better stats :)
I always go with necrotect for the free hero to get sphinx carver for +1 sphinx capacity, then once it's levelled up you get another + 1 sphinx, basically getting 3 units for 1.
I always go necrotect for the event. I usually try to get Ushabti carver since it's useful earlier and they can be spread around a few armies to make them more effective.
I tried to start Settra 3 times. In every occasion the orks just overwhelmed me with 3-4 different armies by turn 5, with one 10 units stack raiding on turn 2. Maybe I'm that unlucky, but I have not been able to see turn 20 with Tomb Kings.
I think the next 20 turns after the first when lizardmen come knocking at your door with their rite of primeval glory armies is the part that needs a guide bit more :P
I won a campaign, think it was only very hard mind you, with Chaos in 30-40 turns. You basically just march down towards your victory conditions as quickly as possible.
Basically you want to hit and run raid, destroy your opponents economy by attacking undefended villages and razing them, spread chaos corruption and let provinces revolt, basicaly you have to be like the Vietcong
@@Stokeling Chaos operates in the shadows and only strikes when its strong enough, spread your corruption and watch as it destroys them from within. ;)
I'd start as Sigvald, he grows the fastest, and the hellcannon is good for assaulting settlements. Get rid of marauders, go for chaos warriors, then just prioritize growth to tier 5, then shaggoths and upkeep reduction buildings. Then its GG for the enemy
The Setra campaign is fixed! I've played the first 10 turns 4 times now... and you know that mission you had to raid/ And just before you got there they lost the settlement? Well, I've had 2 different missions over the 4 attempts and in all 4 attempts something has happened the turn before I was able to complete it Two were raid missions, and in both cases an unseen enemy pops up and takes the settlement... The other two were sack a settlement of their enemy and in both cases as I sat within hitting distance and ended the turn... They made peace. I think it's a fixed scenario that you cannot complete... Or I'm very unlucky.
Dont know if it has been requested yet but i'd like to see a Chaos First 20 turns ( Sigi would be nice ) sorry i realise its probably not your 1st choice :-)
Hi, awesome guide. Can you tell me what is your 3d research because you've cut it after and I just saw that you have 18 turns but no idea which one it is. Thanks
If you raze a settlement your movement becomes zero. It would limit your options and have been risky. Although another reason is that if that army hadn't shown up he would've used it as a sack cushion to level more and get another 5 gold.
does somebody else has the bug of not beeing able to recruit other units than the skelleton swordsmen and spearmen? even tho im constructing the rights building ( for example the one for the archers)
Could you do a firts 20 turns guide for either morghur the shadowgave or tretch craventail mortal empires campaign, I really struggle with these 2 guys to get a good setup with them
So, a tactic I've used before is that I declare war on as many distant factions as possible in round one, in order to get money out of a peace agreement when I'm the strongest fucker around. However, I recently learned that those factions immediately begin cheating if you do that. So is that a good cheesing tactic to get the extra income?
Only thing where I disagree is go for the necrotect first always, he's going to be leveled up quickly and get you extra construct units in your early army and help get you off the ground whereas the mage is random what school of magic he gets, and the tomb prince is useless when all you have are chaff units to give experience to every turn. Plus there's a chance you'll get a necrotect with sphinx carver trait and just be able to recruit an extra sphinx soon as you can get sphinxes.
Pf, you can destroy skeletons building (after buy) in the capital (you need to do it in other cities too) and change it on cavalery building. Easy kite and kill orcs on legendary dificult. Settra does not SURF XD
Nice guide, Legend. Was having a struggle with Settra in legendary and now, hopefully, with the help of your guide I will be able to clear it. Please, let the next guide be a Tiktaq'to one.
why skeleton warriors instead of skeleton spearmen? i thought the idea of the frontline sacrifices was to hold for as long as possible so your good units can get the kills they need to cause army losses, and spearmen have more defence

Just a detail, I assume legend figured out about ambush stance cancelled while recruiting since that video was released, but just to say. This is a trap. He wants people to try legendary and fail then send him the save files for SYDC.

I see
it may be the opposite tho...to many early shit campaigns that would be easier to just restart.
Or maybe he want the opposite... don't get to much fucked up legendary campaigns sent in that could have bean avoided with the guide. :D
I can finally do 20 turns on legendary. I get wiped out at 21 though :(
One turn at a time you can do it

Tomb kings don't really doomstack though
Use their archer chariots.
Amazing good because most chariots just flee.
Vampires don't do doomstacks they do crapstacks just mass Skeles infinite armies
The last time I was this early Nagash hadn't ruined literally everything.
"Ruined" is a subjective term. He did sort of invent necromancy and by extension, all the Undead factions that followed
you mean made everything perfect in undeath

Do Khazrak of the Beastmen. One of the hardest legendary starts in mortal empires in my opinion.

Harder than Malagor?
hordes are actually easiest to play on legendary especially beastmen with hidden camp stance
Morathi is the worst imo.
@@retnuHDJ Malagor is easy. Just GTFO from Orc land and go raid some Brettonian lands.
