    lol you know you right and struck a nerve when people write whole paragraphs just to say that they don’t care🤣🤣🤣🤣 mannn but true!
    My mom permed my hair called it nappy. It’s kinda sad how normal it is to dislike our own hair and spend hundreds to look different.

    This is an important topic and I'm so glad many young black women are embracing themselves in totality. Extensions that mimic your natural texture works best. Personally, I have waist length locs but I like to cosplay with wigs for conventions and such (alt black nerdy lady). I also model so sometimes it's easier to cover with a wig instead of manipulating my hair to the point of breakage. I have fine 4a hair. I don't even retwist my locs super often. Wigs are just fun! A wig to me is pretty much a hat to change my aesthetic since I've been loc'd for a loooooooong time and don't like to color my natural hair anymore. I know some people who hide behind enhancements which makes me sad. Women are the most beautiful in their natural state imo.
    I'm also a beauty professional and have been in cosmetology for 14 years. I used to be an instructor at a major salon that has a school as well. The black instructors were always getting fired because the white students kept complaining about learning how to style natural textured hair when it got to that block of the curriculum (the curriculum totally omitted type 4 hair)
    . I had to quit that job because they tried to tell me my LOCS WERE UNPROFESSIONAL while working at a salon lol These folks walked past these white girls with half their head shaved with rainbow hair to hit me with microaggressions. Of course I told the HR woman to her face that I thought her hair (half shaved brunette mohawk) didn't fit the "aesthetic" of the clientele in the area aka the old money blonde hair blue eyes types. Shut her right on up.

    I’ve noticed that the problem is getting worst. Whole graduation class in wigs is at the very least something to ponder. And perms are on the rise again. I understand why we do it but the lack of self love in our community is off putting

    My only question is what is your stance on black women who do not have 4c textured hair? I think the large misconception that black hair is the same is our biggest blindspot. Many black women have naturally wavy, curly textured hair. Not just kinks and coils - I am one of those women. What is your suggestion for women who want to add textured extensions that match their non 4c hair.
    P.S. I respect you tackling such a bold and “triggering” (for some) topic.
    Keep up the work on your channel.

    • @Empressemoni
      @Empressemoni  6 місяців тому +1

      Thank you! ☺️ my stance is wearing extensions that match your hair texture. Whether that’s 4c or whatever other hair type you have. Other races of women wear extensions as well, the only difference that sets us apart is that they wear extensions that are fit to their hair type/texture. So you wouldn’t even know they are wearing extensions half of the time.

    I agree, I don’t submit to the energy part but I respect the connection. Last thing I want is to fun wrong doing, if the hair isn’t sourced or synthetic I’m not trying to support financially. But yes I agree we are beautiful and we should embrace our hair. In every form as much as possible. For me it’s having pride in my people. But undoing the hate starts in the home. Children shouldn’t be having their hair straightened for “special occasions”. We need to stop the whole “oh my hair isn’t done I can’t go”. And just like things how they are, people be hating they dreads when they at an “ugly phase”. Just enjoy the journey and be confident.. Also we need to stop obsessing over long hair, instead worry about the health of the hair. Hard but doable !

      Also there is so many ways to change your hair but still have it your texture. Locs, twists, braids, kinky straight, cornrows, lemonade braids, so many possibilities.

    Do you not realize a lot of people have no issues with themselves like they just like wearing hair straight curly or whatever. People like to wear what they like to wear. Straight hair is cute sometimes. Wearing straight hair every day yeah that’s weird. But most people nowadays wear weaves it don’t even be straight anymore. It be curly textured.

    • @Empressemoni
      @Empressemoni  6 місяців тому +10

      It’s deeper than just wanting to wear different hairstyles. Black women are the only race that wear other people’s hair textures. So yes it’s a self hate issue and It’s a problem. Wearing Brazilian curly hair is still not our hair texture.

      @@incognito_tab43 You are being dishonest. Afro textured hair has become the most disrespected and hated hair texture on the planet. In response to this black women have internalized that hatred and resorted to only wearing wigs, weaves, and extensions that mimic the texture of another race of people. I know black people who are literally SCARED of being seen with their natural hair because they think it's so ugly. Black women are the only women you will find under an indian girls hair routine asking for it to be cut off so they can buy it or crying about how they hate their own hair. Black women wear straight and loose wigs because we are traumatized full stop and we need to fight against it for the next generation of girls coming up.

    • @theprettiestliyah
      @theprettiestliyah 6 місяців тому +5

      that's literally the isssue, if more black women started wearing their hair, dont you think it would be encouraging for the one who are insecure to wear theirs too? Yes black women aren't the only people who wear wigs blah blah blah, that's besides the point she was trying to make, you need to love your natural hair and be proud of it before anyone else loves it and accepts. Yes there's always gonna be ignorant people who say rude things about natrual, but so do they about black skin, black facial features, names, history, so you guys need to not let it get to you when they talk about your hair. And also there's always gonna be people outside of your race backing you up, like me for example, you guys are not fighting alone. If you wanna be ignorant and defend the issue go right on ahead

    • @Empressemoni
      @Empressemoni  6 місяців тому +3

      @incognito_tab43 You are being dishonest with yourself and it is that deep. Especially with black hair it is always that deep. Black women make up the most consumers in the weave industry. When other races of women wear extensions it matches their hair texture!! That’s the problem I’m pointing out. You shouldn’t be defending the idolization of other hair textures, when you wear someone else’s hair that’s exactly what you are doing idolizing their texture over your own

    Im white but learned hair from black teachers in a cosmetology school in a very black area. I did only the 4 required relaxer services &I knew after the first one i would never do it again. I love natural hair too much to do that to women when i can help you feel beautiful with services that ehance what God gave you. The same applies to wearing a style of clothes, or dyeing your hair a different colour. This is not about race, but about being confident with yourself in general and can apply to anyone regardless of how you look or who you are. Do whatever you want to wear/look, fashion is not locked by race. Clickbait title. ((ps: it looks like you're not wearing clothing in this vid))

    • @Empressemoni
      @Empressemoni  6 місяців тому +1

      In my opinion dying one’s hair a different color is for self expression. Most people regardless of race like to experiment with hair color. I don’t see how fashion correlates personally because it’s unique to everyone unless you’re appropriating another culture. I also don’t understand how the title is click bait lmao 🤔.

    • @Empressemoni
      @Empressemoni  6 місяців тому +1

      @7Freya7 I believe you’re missing the point. I even explained in the video that black womens natural hair is extremely versatile and we can do different hair styles that do not involve wearing other hair textures that’s not of our own. Wearing other races hair textures is not a form of “self expression” it’s a history of self hate and Racism.

    • @7Freya7
      @7Freya7 6 місяців тому +3

      @@Empressemoni
      The argument that Black women wearing other hair textures is inherently self-hate and racism is overly simplistic. Hair styling is a form of self-expression and personal choice. Many Black women may choose different hair textures for versatility, practicality, professional reasons, and fashion, not as a rejection of their natural hair. Modern interpretations of beauty standards are diverse, and engaging with different hair styles can be empowering, reflecting autonomy rather than self-hate. Thus, Black women's hair choices are complex and multifaceted, not solely driven by negative historical contexts. Reducing this choice to an act of self-hate and racism fails to acknowledge the agency and autonomy of Black women in making personal grooming decisions.

      @7Freya7 I 100% agree with you. I personally love my natural hair, and after recently cutting it, I have been focusing on making it more healthy and plan, but I also love wearing wigs so that I can experiment with really fun hairstyle, like light blue curly hair, without damaging my own hair. My natural hair means too much to me, for me to dye it, add heat to it and do all other forms of strenuous labour to it.

      If you choose to not care about hair black people are being represented then do you. No one is saying the world will end lol. But do other races of people look at us as a joke yes. Do other races of people not take us seriously? Yes. Do other races of people assume we hate ourselves YES. Everything matters. Black people have so much to work on a race and wearing other people’s hair texture is only ONE of the many issues we need to work on. You don’t have to agree but to sit here and act like it’s not a problem is crazy 🤷🏾‍♀️. Wearing the hair that grows on our hair naturally is not a personality trait lol it’s normal and we should be more proud of ourselves.
