I look up to you as a sweet and caring person Meg. Putting your children's needs ahead of your own and making the choice to save up and retire from acting to raise them, and be that mother figure to them is admirable ❤️
I totally agree. It's wonderfully heartwarming to hear about people who put family first.
Thank you so much! It didn't seem like a choice at the time. Just did what I felt I had to do. 😊
Humble and modest, Meg, you are an exceptional person. Personally, you are a legend amongst Hollywood royalty 🔥🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘🤘♥️♥️♥️♥️
Well she can do what she wants, but you need to consider what it really was that she gave up. Tens of thousands of starry eyed kids , struggle, literally starve and scrape by, just to get a chance, which usually NEVER pans out. To actually be in that position and win a Golden Globe and have an Oscar nomination , puts you in a very good position. You are able to command millions for every job thereafter. I hear her reasons and see that it was her choice, but It's bigger than that .I personally worked in the movie industry for over 35 years and no one ever explained to me what happens to MOST actors and Artists for Film and TV when Middle age hits. You end up poor , and with no way to support yourself . The stories that I have personally heard, including my own, would make you want to jump off a bridge. To be given this more than a once in a lifetime opportunity and just let it go , is insane beyond belief to me. Again this is just the opinion of a person who was in the same industry and failed miserably. Take that for whatever it is worth.
Woman wear many hats in our lives. We all loved your talents in movies and knowing you are a good mother makes you even more lovable to your fans! 😇
Thanks. That's very kind of you. I try to live my life thinking about my future self and regrets I might have if I did/or did not do something and then try to avoid those regrets. It isn't always possible but it's a goal. 😊
Oh, Meg! You just shine in these youtube videos! Regardless of the format (movies, stage, books, youtube, podcasts, dance) The world loves story tellers, and you are a natural story teller. Wherever life takes you, there will be a place by a warm fireplace and a cozy cup of tea with people who would love to hear every story you got.
Aww... 😊💕💐
I understand why you left acting. Still, I can't help wish you had kept acting. You were so good! I enjoy seeing you in movies.
Thanks so much. And I can never say never because you don't know what life flings your way.
This gives me such joy! I know in my heart, we haven’t seen the last of your acting work 🙏🤞🤞
Greetings from Romania! I love all the movies with you! And I've recently discovered these videos...so, it's a pleasure to see you again!
Wow you’re like…. A great mom! Taking the kids when you had an acting gig ! Bravo 👏🏽👏🏽 the tillys only get cooler 😎✌🏽. I’ll definitely give that tea a try!
😊
Still it was cool to see you come back with Jen for the Chucky series.
Tilly Tuesday!!!
Thanks for watching! 😊
I just ran across this gem. You made a great decision to be present for your children. My mother was at home every day I got home from school. It was great! Plus she was on top of everything that was going on with me. I believe this was a huge advantage for me even if i didn't realize at the time.
Oodles of thanks for another heartwarming video, Meg ! I love what you're wearing & the pine cone holiday tree behind you ! I admire you for so many reasons, but especially that you put raising your children before your acting career. Your kids are so incredibly blessed to have a mom like you ! I heard today on the news about the torrential rains hitting the British Columbia region of Canada. So sorry to hear of anyone suffering up there in our Neighbor to the North. :-(
You are very welcome. Thanks for all your lovely comments. My kids are such a blessing in my life as well. In raising them I had to re-raise myself. Learned so much from being a mom.
My heart goes out to all those people who were hit so hard. We were incredibly fortunate in my family but oh my goodness. It was so sad.
We cherish the years you shared telling stories with light and shadow and are grateful now for the stories you bring to readers. Thank you for all you do and the delight you bring to so many!
Thank you so much, Toolman. Truly. I worry sometimes when a question will veer me into the shadows momentarily, as I know people come here to get a break from all the challenging news out there. But, I am who I am, and the shadows and challenges I've gone through are a part of what shaped me into who I am. 💐💕
@@megscozyteatime3760 it’s really shocking to know that director behaved so badly as to throw a chair at you. Although the end film work often is quality work, clearly it sounds like the road to that quality often is at the expense of others.
@@toolman67 tool man , yeah very shocking and disturbing ! There's never an excuse for that kind of behavior from an adult .
Opened web Browser, clicked, clicked, clicked somewhat randomly and ended up watching this video from beginning to end. Romantic suspense and Tea? Not my thing. But listening to her speak gave me an overwhelming feeling that genuinely beautiful people that exude a nurturing and joyful personality give me great emotional and spiritual fulfillment. You seem like an absolutely wonderful person.
Hi Meg your so good you will always be a wonderful actress to us all and you made the right choices as I
Gave up my job for a few years to take care of my unwell mother until she passed in 2018, so we all make
the choices not just for are selves but for those who we Love.
So very true. Sometimes life has other plans for us but being flexible and adapting is the key, I think. 😊
We miss you in films tho, Meg! You are so adorable with an adorable voice! Much Love to you! I look forward to reading your books! God Bless You! ♥
Meg thank you again for your insights. Much appreciated.
You're welcome. Thank you for watching the Tea Times! Without my Tea Timers I'm just chattering away into the ethers. 🤣
@@megscozyteatime3760 oh no my comment disappeared .
Meg , I just found your channel a little while ago and I'm really enjoying it .
I was telling a friend of mine about your channel and she had earlier told me that actor William Hurt has died .
I'm wondering if you have any stories you could tell us about what it was like working with him ?
Or any recollections at all of the man ?
Hi Meg I'm a big fan of your channel my name is Michael and I'm a big fan of your story and I love your story and your sister Jennifer Tilly is the best and awesome
I can certainly understand your decision to stop acting and be with your children… good for you!♥️ I’m sorry to say I haven’t read any of your books yet, but I’m going to… I promise.
Also , I lovvvvve your dress! My kind of bohemian flair!
Thanks so much! I love the dress too! Jennifer gave it me when I visited!
I wish I had the confidence to wear bold stockings like your friend’s!
Haha, me too! 😊
Hi Meg! I'm just seeing the movie Psycho 2, congratulations for your interpretation! Greetings From Music Passion (Gabriele).
Thank you and welcome to the Tea Time! Thanks for watching! 😊
@@megscozyteatime3760 Thank You
Mag!
To day I'm drinking Black tee and Honey 🍯.
Nice 2 c u again.
You two sisters are so real, just real good ppl. I like that.
Welcome back! Black tea and honey sounds tasty! 😋 I used to drink honey in some of my tea but I've really had to start watching where I get my sugars.
@@megscozyteatime3760 Agave sweeteners are good. :)
If only I had an acting Mom like you who put me first without getting pulled from school. You're a great Mom Meg!
😊
always such a joy when you answer our questions, thank you Meg.
Thank so much! And thanks for writing. I love reading everyone's comments!
Have you ever tried Mighty Leaf spring jasmine? It's light and sublime like a rice paddy field on a misty morning 🌄
hurray a new vlog from Meg !!!
Hope you enjoyed it!
I always wondered where you went. You are a wonderful actress. I am enjoying your tea times. Thank you.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Meg spilling some tea while drinking some tea!!!
That's how I roll. Can't cry over spilt milk or tea. 🤣
I read your first book Singing Songs in 1994. It knocked me out. I still remember scenes from it. I wrote you a fan letter at the time. I was writing films in L.A. then. One of my scripts almost got made. Tim Burton was going to direct. Jack Nicholson agreed to play one of the leads, and I'd convinced Tim to offer you and your sister the roles of the twin sisters who drive the story. Sadly, it didn't happen. I wish it had. I'd have loved to have got to know you.
What a great mother. I would pick you 👍👍👍
You are an exceptional deserving person. Sweet, yet completely real.. Thanks for being..🙏
Tea Time always feel like I'm sitting in front of you. With all that you and your family have gone through. How is it that you keep such a warm, sweet and wholesome spirit? 🌹
Awww, thanks for the lovely comment. 😊 I think it's because I went through such challenging times that makes me so grateful for the life I have now. But believe me, I am not always so cheerful. There are definitely days I want to crawl back in bed and pull the covers up.
Wow, this is cool. I remember seeing One Dark Night in theaters and having a blast. I know it's probably not one of your personal bests, but we, horror fans, love it. But, as a mom myself, I totally believe children come first. 😊
5:36 Cookie crumbs; love it!
What a wonderful smile, laughter, too.
Fairly new subscriber here, Meg....love your way, beautiful one.
🌺
P.S. Really enjoyed LEAVING NORMAL
Welcome to our Tea Times, Joy! ☕️🎉Thanks for subbing!
@@megscozyteatime3760 Thank you! Looking forward to the next one.
Happy St. Patrick's Day,
Meg! 🎉
Your hair is so cute!!
Thanks so much! I've had to be my own hair cutter during the pandemic! Thanks to some great advice from my Tea Timers I've managed to keep it from looking too unkempt! 😊
Awwww I love you so muuuchhh 💖
Thank you! And thanks for watching! 😊
Awesome video, thank you for sharing
Thanks so much for watching!!! 😊🎬
Thanks for sharing your Great and special experience and the decisions you made, Ms. Tilly. ❤ YUK01
God bless you.
Thank you, Jack.🙏
Thanks for reading my comment, Meg! It sounds a little more poetic when YOU read it! 📖😊 I'm really sorry that you didn't have as much fun making "Leaving Normal" as I've had watching Christine and yourself (I guess you DID retire from the hardware store, huh?😂), but perhaps being incentivized to make changes for your kids by an obviously toxic environment (Grrr!!), makes it a blessing in disguise. Taking them along wasn't a bad idea at all, actually...who could've guessed what happened to your Emily, with the school? Anyway, I like you at least as much in "Bomb Girls" or "War Machine", and maybe seeing you just being you is best of all! 😃
BTW, my Mom and I had kind-of a tradition with...MINIATURE CHRISTMAS TREES! 👍❤️
Thanks for all your comments, Paul. Glad you enjoy watching Leaving Normal. There are so many challenging things in life that can turn out to be blessings in the end. It's sometimes hard to see that at the time, though. Even when you remind yourself. 😊
I'm late to the party, but I love your Cozy Tea Time. I appreciate your videos and the great memories you left me with your films. Peace and warmth to you and yours.
I'm so glad you found the channel. Welcome! Peace to you as well. 😊
@@megscozyteatime3760 I just found your channel a little while ago and I'm really enjoying it ... and I just told a friend of mine about it .
Right before coming to your channel she told me that actor William Hurt has died .
We're wondering if you have any interesting stories about what it was like to work with him ?
MEG, IF FRIENDS WERE FLOWERS, ID PICK YOU !!! LOVE N HUGZ, RICHIE RICH.
could you please make an episode about Psycho 2. i love that movie! Please make an entire episode about your experience on that film. thank you!!
Wow! I just looked up Body snatchers I Remember watching it when I was little. I actually need to watch it again now lol. I remember you and the famous where you going to go line. I remember being like dang she hot lol. I didn't realize gabrielle anwar was in the movie. I was like wait a min. Omg I used to watch the tv show burn notice I was like wow. or a few other actors. It's been a min. I saw your last name I was like wait is she related to Jennifer oh wow I guess yall are sisters. I remember her is a few movies but chucky stands out. It's pretty awesome that you're on social media too. You seem so young and cool so to speak love the vibes. Sorry I don't know any of your other work, but I will check it out. Have to play catch up lol. Anyways Happy holidays and may next year be a better one with all that is going on in the world. have a bless one.
Thanks for joining us Tea Timers! Yes, Chucky is pretty awesome (from what I hear, I'm too scared to watch it 😬). But I've seen clips of Jennifer and she is great! Happy Holidays! ⛄️
Back in the 90s, it was difficult to balance motherhood with career.
Had your show Winnetka Rd been successful in the 90s, would that have provided more balance to acting and motherhood...or were you already set on taking time off from acting by that point?
It was difficult. I imagine it's even more difficult now. Thank you for the great question! I've written it down in my notebook to answer during a tea time!💐☕️
I'm missing out on this chair throwing director... Ferrara???
which act did you like the most to do?
I've enjoyed different roles for different reasons. I can't choose just one. Each character has taught me something new so it's hard to pick a favourite. Now, if you want to talk least favourite roles... that's another story entirely. 🤣
@@megscozyteatime3760 I asked the question with the help of Google translator. I speak Portuguese, I'm from Brazil.
Hey sorry u can't comment quicker u post when I am in school
The nice thing about UA-cam is that it's always around. No time schedule needed! 😊
