She's priceless......💛
I just got home from work and I can’t believe that my question was answered! 😄 What a delightful surprise! Thank you so much! Also, that’s really sweet that you got your grandma a bunch of pin cushion dolls. I’m sure that that meant a lot to her. 🙂 As always, this was a lovely tea time. Thanks again!
I'm loving your channel so much. You're such a great story-teller, and have such a warm, gentle demeanor, and your accent/way of speaking reminds me so much of a very dear friend of mine who I haven't seen in a long time. I really enjoy seeing you with Jennifer, and listening to your stories that involve her. It's just so touching to see/hear about such loving siblings, and your deep affection for one another comes through in every photo. I read your first book when it was first published, and really appreciated it (I'm not sure that "liked" is the correct word, as it was so disturbing and heartbreaking, but it's beautifully written and I definitely got a lot out of it and am glad I read it. ) I have no idea why I've never read your other books, but I need to change that. Thanks so much for creating such a warm, comfy space on UA-cam, which is not always the most warm or comfy platform.
Tea time! Thank you for having us over, Ms Meg and Mr Don!
I am glad you mentioned "Agnes of God:" I cannot imagine anyone else in the role of Agnes! You, Ms Bancroft and Ms Fonda made me forget it was a movie, and for me, that is the best acting.
What a wonderful, loving thing you did for your mom! Paying her mortgage was such a help and loving gesture. I am so glad I found your UA-cam channel, and again, you both are like the neighbors we all wish we had next door!
i’m drinking coffee, too! w silk vanilla soymilk so i dont need sugar
So sorry to hear of the passing of Lenny Dohlen, your costar in "Leaving Normal". Pls describe working w/him & the cast in that fun road film. "...where we can sit & watch the Aurora Borealis!"
Soo glad I found your channel, new subbie here! Love your energy ❤❤❤ I know you aren’t doing UA-cam anymore but had to write a little note to thank you for your videos 😊
Loved this Episode ❤
Now, I wanna watch
TEX, again! 😉
You really are a happy go lucky kind of person! Upbeat! Inspiring! I'm glad I found your channel and plan to hangout here from time to time. I STILL cannot believe that I never knew that Jen was the older sister! I probably assumed Meg was because I started watching Meg's work, first, soo long ago! And now we have matching hairdos. 🤗
I always enjoy your tea times and I just remember discovering them at the height of the COVID isolation. Tea time always brightened the days back then and they still do. They make me smile and reflect. Thank you.
oh! so glad to see you--I thought you were going to be gone for 2 months!!
You two are a hoot!😂
Hi meg!!. Your books are amazing. I'm continue reading them as you are an amazing writer. I'm going through a rough hard time and your books and movies are helping me.
You are amazing, beautiful, and just a heart of gold!!. Thank you for your amazing work.
Meg, you have a beautiful heart ❤️❤️❤️
Dear Meg Tilly, I am a woman in ny sixties, and I was so lucky as to find your Tea Time channel in oct. 2020. I was so touched by your posting on May the 17th, especially the last 5 minutes of it. I really empathize with you.. I know you are away and will probably not read this, but I feel an urge to write this anyway.. You were always my favourite actress, even though I have only seen Agnes, Valmont and Girl in a swing. Agnes, Madame de Tourvel and Karin all moved me deeply, I almost feel like I have met and known these women. When Agnes came to the cinemas here in the 80s I went with a group of friends to see it. We all felt that you represented something entirely new within acting. The emotional honesty and sensitivity affected us all. I wish Ingmar Bergmann could have made a film with you. Now, having listened to you in T.T., I understand why your filmcharacters made such a lasting impression on me. To listen to someone who is without pretence, and who is genuine and authetic is rare these days. There is something healing in it. T.T has room for all kinds of memories, also those that hurt. We who listen are the richer for it. Much love and gratitude. Anne (from N.)
Thank you Meg & Don so much for such a fun answer to my question - and how sweet that your first paycheck splurge was on your grandmother :) Don is absolutely right - the screen name breaks down as "Rob at Sea 2009", which would be much easier if I had spelled it that way back in 2009 when I started the account. It's a nod to my former life on the high seas. Don't ever worry about going off on tangents as they are always entertaining detours. I think I learned today that if one is cutting one's own hair it's best to get the scissors before they get used on the dog lol.
Hi Meg! I recently discovered your UA-cam channel and I’ve been catching up with all of your videos and enjoying every one of them! I’ve always admired you and all of your films and now I can share tea time with you. Your life stories are very interesting and many times humorous, you always make my day! Thank you 😊
Also--unfortunately I didn't mark which ones, but while catching up w/many of the posts I was behind on (b/c I came late to Meg & herTeaTimer's party), it became absolutely obvious that you are FANTASTIC at making all kinds of sound effects! Makes me wonder if you did this w/your kids & now w/grandkids when reading to them.
My mom was the same way. On school nights I was only allowed 30 minutes of screen time and 60 minutes the rest of the time. I also struggled in school, especially with math so my mom made me play educational video games. Didn’t help though. I still can’t do math. Lol
You two give me warm smiles! Thank you for sharing your life with us.
I really love these tea times. I just finished having ginger tea from my favorite mug. I hope you, Don, and family are well. 😊
tl;dr
Was chatting to a mate of mine a couple of days ago and I think we got onto the subject of not knowing when a woman was coming on to us, so he sent me a video of George Costanza from Seinfeld not recognising the obvious signals when being invited up for a coffee.
From there we talked about other sitcoms, including Cheers and MASH and I commented that I have both intro themes in my iTunes library.
He said the MASH theme always made him feel sad for some reason. I said, well, it’s called Suicide is Painless, but on checking on UA-cam, I discovered that in the series it’s just an instrumental, so he wouldn’t have known that.
I then thought of another one of my favourite themes from TV which was the Barry Norman’s ‘Film’ intro theme.
In the search results, there was a full episode which focussed mainly on The Big Chill. I’d heard of it, but never seen it.
In the clip they showed, they were at the dinner table, and there sat Meg Tilly. I really liked Meg Tilly and was always sad that she stopped acting. Was great to see her in War Machine a few years ago.
So, from there, I wondered if there were any interviews with her now, so I searched and found results for her and Jennifer.
So I searched for an interview with them both… and I ended up in Meg’s Cozy Tea Time and the episode with Meg And Jennifer. The further I got into the episode, the bigger my smile got. Fantastic to see their giddiness and their obvious affection for each other. Was so happy to see they weren’t cold and distant.
And now, I’ve watched about 30 or 40 episodes and am loving it. Funny how your searches sometimes lead you to a pot of gold.
P.S. get Jen back on!
Just found your channel and enjoying it so much! Live on the Island and loving my Murchies 🫖
Your stories are always so fun and those camping pajamas are fabulous!
Hi Meg and Don! You two must be the cutest, funniest couple ever! I could watch/listen to you two talk all day! Anyway - when you were answering the question about which movies you didn’t like your kids watch reminded me that one of the time I crept into the TV room as a kid late at night while my mom and dad were watching Masquerade on HBO. I recently saw the film for the first time as an adult and loved it. I was wondering what your feelings are regarding the film, and working with Rob Lowe. Thanks!
Don, representing us coffee drinkers! Try putting a scoop of vanilla ice cream in your coffee! Delicious!
Meg, what was the silliest thing you spent money on when you started getting some steady pay rolling in, Maybe an overpriced car that turned out to be a lemon? A T.Rex egg, perhaps?
Exciting drumroll.
Congratulations to Len.
Shucks ! I didn't win the drawing ! But there's always next time. Another fun episode ! When you & Don laugh it really brightens our day ! Sounds like you raised your kids wisely ! And how heartwarming you paid off your mom's mortgage with your first big paycheck ! You're a real sweetheart, Meg ! By the way, I found that "Carmilla" episode you did back in '89 on TV's "Nightmare Classics" which you discussed in last week's episode. Watched it earlier this week here at UA-cam. Enjoyed it very much ! Well written & well cast. What was it like to work with veteran actor Roddy McDowall ? He'd been appearing in films just over 50 years at that time. THANK YOU, Meg...and thanks of course to Don too !!
I keep imagining Snoopy to those pajamas, but I always get disappointed when I realize he isn't there! 😂
Thank you both so much for sharing your time with us. It’s a fun and special part of the week!
many suspected that the role of Jodie Foster, which you were consired, had been "accused", but is it possible that it would have been "five corners" also released 1988?
'Not sure if I missed/or misunderstood re: when to expect post after this one, and b/c no post Xs 2wks seems unusual, I just want to let you know I'm thinking of you two & hoping all is well. 🥰
Oh Meg. I'm laughing out loud about the "old store" for teapots (I know you meant Antique Shop) and the "pop up like a happy surprise" comment. You're so likable ! My question is what does your son Will think of "Valmont" since both his parents star in it? And did Colin help you financially (child support) for Will after the break-up? I hope that's not too personal a question to ask. Hugs to you.
Hi Meg! I'm a new viewer of Tea Time, and I'm so glad to have found you on UA-cam! Without sounding condescending in any way, but you are so adorable and spirited, a source of delight in these challenging times! I'm a big fan of Psycho II, and even though it was not the happiest experience for you at the time, you have such a positive way of reminiscing that gives it value and worth as part of your history. I am enticed to seek out your books sometime soon. Blessings to you and all of your family! One question I have: Do you keep in touch with colleagues regularly with whom you shared the screen?
Is it my imagination or are you wearing different camping pjs?
I love Meg's tangents. Part of your charm.
What was your and Don's first date?
We were visiting Victoria, and I went to Murchie’s!! I thought of you ❤️
enjoy your time away ..from youtube ..good luck with the film !!!
Hi Meg!
7:00 You, I feel, are also lucky that when you’re working or doing official press you look one way. And at home you keep it simple. You and your sisters are naturally beautiful. But you def have a very glam “work” look that children could separate from the “mommie” they know. So when your son remarked that he was glad he hadn’t grown up with THAT woman, I totally get it. It’d be too weird, living with a movie star 24/7. When you were on Stroumboulopoulos’ show, I was stunned how extremely-glamorous you looked in just a lbd. It was like a totally different person., although she sounded just like you. And as gorgeous as you looked, I’m glad SHE’S not the one that shows up to host tea time. Even your literary headshot is def the movie star version of you. You still look like Hollywood royalty. Many A-List actresses are always in full Hollywood glam make-up, on-and-off set. So their kids are not allowed to ever forget that she’s a STAR. She’s this important Hollywood “thing” that they must share with the world. She isn’t theirs. And I believe it messes them up. I’m glad you kept it separate. Because as a male actor and star, his father couldn’t change his look off-set. Colin’s gonna look like Colin, no matter where you see him. And I’m sure for a child it’s intimidating to try and claim such a recognizable face for his own as simply “dad”. Plus I suspect Colin’s been 40 since he was 16, judging by his earliest work. You gave that child the normalcy every Hollywood kid craves but never gets.
Is meg tilly going to be on chucky show
Yes, indeed. Coming this Wednesday. With a watch party on Friday at 6pm PST.
