    Thanks for sharing your workflow. It sure taught me a few things. I'm new at this and have yet to land my first paid gig. In the meantime I've asked a few people if I could take pictures and video of their homes in order to create a portfolio. It's good practice too. I have an Air 2 S, so use a darker ND filter for video, which means one flight for photos, then another for video. I'm excited to be doing this!

    I think variable aperture is about the most overlooked feature on a drone. I love my mini 3 pro, but next drone I add to the fleet will 100% have that feature.

    Great video! You mention “ parallax “ shots a few times with the actual definition being not quite right. Without going into angles of perspective, the simplest example would be foreground developing faster than background and visa versa. ( to try this at home) frame your subject on full zoom - push toward the subject while zooming out. ( add horizon tilt to taste) and you will get a vertigo or parallax effect. All manner of photography or videography are laden with term and lingo- aerial photography will be no different. Safe flying!

    I get asked about aerial all the time. I’ve held off for now, but want to get into it. A couple of questions: shopping around for insurance, it seems like there are a million small business insurance companies. Any recommendations for RE photo/video in particular?
    Second, any tips on when the neighbors come and ask you what you’re up to? Or if someone is displeased that you’re flying a drone in their neighborhood?
    Thanks again for all you do for the RE Photo/Video community

      @@bryanmurphy909 Good tips! That’s what I’d recommend too. For neighbors there’s not much you can do except try to be quick for any shots that might be from over their houses. I’ve had some confrontations in the past and it just took listening to them and being chill about it, then explaining what we were doing to diffuse the situation. Another tip is to launch from the back yard so if someone goes around to see where the drone is coming from you’re not standing on the street 😂 That works too lol

    Hey Taylor , a big fan of your work and tutorials. They have really help shorten the Bridge to learning real estate photography and video. I’ve recently been doing real estate photography/video for about seven or eight months now and I have a question for you.
    Along with showing off the property my clients also request showing local shops and attractions are near the community of the house. How would you go about filming this and editing it all into the actual walk-through video of the property(house)?
    Any help will be greatly appreciated and again I thank you for all the videos you’ve been sharing with us and I wish you the best of luck on your journey on teaching other people and your overall success.

    • @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo
      @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo  2 роки тому +1

      Hey! Thanks so much for the comment, awesome to hear your feedback!! Great question. Definitely charge extra. Driving around and finding shots can easily double your time filming depending on how much they want even if it’s just a short part of the video. If it’s a really big selling point here’s what I’ve done in the past - have it at the beginning as a part of the intro to provide context to the listing and lifestyle of the area so viewers can quickly note and be interested if they like the area. Otherwise the end or middle can work too like transition from back yard to nearby features or something, then end on the house as a recap. Also easiest way to incorporate these is on videos with voice overs or realtor tours since it seems less random than just footage :)

    Hi Taylor. Am just starting to get into this and stumbled upon your video when I Googled " real estate drone photography settings." One thing that concerned me about my situation right off the bat was your suggestion of an aperture of 8.0. The problem is that my literally newly-purchased Air 2S apparently only has a fixed aperture of 2.8. Please don't tell me it's impossible to use this particular drone for real estate! The interesting thing, actually, is that there are other UA-cam videos that claim it's a great drone for real estate photography, which now that I think about it is kind of surprising given the aperture issue. Thanks.

    • @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo
      @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo  11 місяців тому +1

      Hey! It should be fine. I’ve had this drone for a while so forget that most can’t choose the setting. Sorry for the concern! New tip though! Try using Auto Exposure Bracketing (AEB) to do HDR drone photos. It boosts quality a lot since you can get way more dynamic range than without (on any camera) Since doing this video I’ve started doing that almost all the time and love it :)

    • @echowhisper99
      @echowhisper99 11 місяців тому

      @@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo Great, thanks so much for the response, and for just making me feel better! No, I mean seriously, it would have been pretty depressing to have to pack the drone I just opened right back in its box and send it back just to buy a more expensive one. Yes, AEB sounds like a logical solution to such a problem, so it's definitely something I should check out. I've also heard (from the other videos I referenced on the use of the Air 2S for real estate) that the ND filters can be helpful in this regard, I guess the idea being that it reduces the amount of light hitting the sensor like closing the aperture does. But, anyway, I guess the point is that it sounds like there's a way to make this work, which is a relief. Thanks again -- glad I found your channel. I think there's a substantial learning curve with this so I need all the resources I can find!

    • @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo
      @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo  11 місяців тому +1

      @echowhisper99 Glad you feel better! Polarizer filter would be most helpful for photography and ND for video (helps get better colors and bluer skies). No real need to use ND for photos unless you’re going for a slow shutter speed effect like smooth water.

      Hey! Thanks. Have you tried waiting a day or two to see if it processes to 4k or are you just watching right away after uploading? Can always check to see what resolution it’s playing in at the bottom but usually mine starts out really bad too at like 360p or something.

    Taylor, my drone doesn't have a continuous bracketing ( DJI mini). I can do just 1 shot, not 3 or 5 with different exposure. Is it still possible to get a good photo with my drone? Thx!

    • @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo
      @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo  7 місяців тому

      Hey! Yes. Just make sure to shoot in RAW and expose for the highlights (sky usually). Sometimes it might work better to over expose the sky so the house looks better and do a sky replacement in editing afterward too. Having a polarized filter (just polarizer or nd4 with polarizer would work) will help make it look like you have a little more dynamic range too since they cut back on harsh lighting + glares & darken the sky a lot of the time.

      @@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo well I'd like to have just 1 drone to do lots of videography of houses & also extra for hobby
      I only have a phone gimbal
      So its just not as stable and quite limited
      So I'd like to have a drone that can do
      - exterior shot of houses
      - interior house its not a gigantic house only about 200-300m2 house, meaning basically just 3x3meters bedrooms not that gigantic,
      I'd like to have a cinematic pan shot (cuz i dont have professionals gimbal and camera to do buttery smooth pan shots and zooming dolly shot)
      And i also like to do like a whloe house walk thru (better with avata 2 or mini 4 pro?)
      - as an extra I'd like to explore nature like in beaches and jungles so i find flying FPV would really be fun

    • @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo
      @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo  Місяць тому

      @Messi10billy nice! Honestly I’d think using an iPhone (14 or 15)+ gimbal would get better interior results than a drone unless you’re doing something creative like fpv fly through where you need it to be a drone. Drones just don’t do that well with low light scenes and interiors are usually not super bright.

      @@daniell1869 I think honestly most clients don't notice much of the fine details like that lol. • @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo
      @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo  2 роки тому +1

      It depends - Do you want another one that will do the same stuff, or another one that will do more stuff ? Both are great but the AD200 is way more powerful+faster, which can be really handy for big spaces or really bright rooms (as well as portraits, event photos & more creative work) Might be unnecessary to spend that much if you don't really need any of that, though. Also - I wouldn't really recommend the V1 even though it's great - I would personally rather have one that has the normal speedlight shape so it wouldn't have any issues fitting in some modifier/softboxes I like to use.

      Definitely check your local FAA requirements first.. You can’t (legally) do it without a license for commercial purposes and usually need to register your device with the FAA too. Some of the tiny ones (under 250 grams) are less restricted but just for hobbyists. So yes (for fun) and no (for a business). It can vary a lot depending on where you live though, so just check online or call them to get more local info :)
