I have no idea how Blue Run continues to price their products. Maybe I’m in a bubble, but I never hear anyone say it’s fantastic juice. It’s a hard NO on all of these bottles.
Agreed!! Never heard anyone loving them but the company sure does by pricing them that way
Blue run sucks arse!!!
We do a lot of bourbon hunting on our channel and we've only ever met 1 person that said he like Blue Run. The brand is an example for the power of marketing in the current era of production. The price for that collection is incredibly out of touch for the current market.
Expensive butterflies 🦋
I am one of those ones that like their High Rye. Found them at half the msrp price.
Thanks Judge! I can sit comfortably, thoroughly enjoying my JDSBBP, Knob Creek 12 and Rare Breed. Knowing that some tater is leaving them on the shelf while buying these absurd bottles.
Love it @danr07. Same bottles as yours on my bar!
Yes sir!!
Rare Breed has declined in quality tremendously.
There is no bad pizza. There's pizza I wouldn't pay for.
Apparently these distilleries missed the memo the Bourbon Bubble is bursting as we speak 😂. The day before yesterday I saw Blantons ON THE SHELF. And not just one bottle, it was 6 bottles with 2 unopened cases above on top of the shelf (so 18 bottles total) 😂😂😂 And it wasn't $100+ a bottle it was $79.99. I'm seeing Stagg Jr on Craigslist for $150-$160 and it sits there (batches 23b, 23c and batch 18). It's only going to get worse, or better if you're a consumer and not a flipper!
Great video Judge, Cheers!
So true
This is your best video ever, Judge! Keep preaching the faith! It's insane what some people are asking for untested, sourced (but skillfully marketed) swill. A big BOO to Blue Run!
Lol ty Jon!!!
Thank you Judge for standing up to the insane extreme pricing of the latest bourbon ‼️ No matter who is making it! Most of us middle to lower income folks can’t afford it ❗️❌
We’re the ones buying the majority of the whiskey/bourbon being marketed!
My pleasure!
@judge I'm surprised WT Master's Keep didn't make your list. $270 for a 10yr rye is a little insane.
Excellent add on
Agreed on all accounts. I might add Old Elk to the list as a brand that I like but just more in the $50 range. They seem to think they're a premium brand over $100.
Excellent video! I just shot a similar video Friday night. Mine was more of a rant video about distillers raising prices. The new Weller Whiskey price is insane. At first I thought the article was a joke. I skimmed through the whole thing, looking for them to say it was a joke.😅
I hear ya Myron…. Yeah these distilleries are going crazy$$
They seem to be bucking the trend from what I am hearing the bourbon boom is going bust people are hurting in this economy and whiskey is low on the totem pole as far as high end purchases are concerned ,people are looking for a good juice for low cost and there are plenty of those out there.-
What's happening is that the prices of allocated bourbons on the secondary markets are falling. Secondary groups are invite only and have very strict rules.
Preach it judge! This is just my opinion, BUT with the available bourbons from legacy distilleries that are always in the shelf, there is no world in where a bourbon TASTES like it is worth over $150. Plus you can make your own home blends that meet or beat many allocated bourbons. Just sayin. Just subbed. Keep keeping it real!
Appreciate the sub!!
McKenzie wheat bib is delicious btw. I've been seeing those seelbach emails come out and it's blowing my mind. Plus you still have an extra 20 on it for shipping. To many good store pics out there at 100 or less. Even their middle West spirits pic is crazy high. It's still in my cart but haven't pulled the trigger yet
Judge!!! Have you heard or tried JFC 16year from Wise Caldwell Distillery?
I have searched for a video review but haven't found one yet.
This is one that should have been on the list with a price tag of $295
Thank you for another great video Judge.
I haven’t heard of that one
Great video Judge! Those prices are insane and so are people paying it. When people quit things will begin to normalize.
Hopefully soon
Allview’s single barrel of Premier Drams is $199 - still high but under $220.
These are truly crazy prices and well beyond my means. I do have a friend that bought a bottle of batch 1 of the Old Louisville HAZMAT. $380, he hasnt opened it yet, but says maybe for the 4th of July.
As long as there are enough people with more dollars than sense, these cash grab releases will keep coming out. Great video, Judge!
Got my welcome on the day I get a chance to buy a barrel pick all the while I'm sipping some Hard Truth Sweet Mash and my goodness what a great Rye Whisky!
Nice!!!
Those Sagamore Barrel picks are amazing. Specs in Texas did a pick with @Tiltedbottle and it’s fantastic.
Thanks for sharing this Judge! Great content.
Too many people spending more time trying to find something they can one-up their bourbon buddies with vs trying to find great bourbon at appropriate prices. And the smaller, craft distilleries are using that to their advantage putting out average bourbon for insane prices.
Valid points
is this mgp or is this their own mgp or a mix of both? this is for the barrel pick of sagamore. Thanks
Mgp…
Agree on all. Especially the greatness of Old Carter.
Blue Run is outta control with those prices! Good call Judge. Salute 🥃
Cheers Ben
Absolutely agree, prove your worth and even proven, not spreading more than a $100 on a bottle
Over the weekend I was drinking a Russells Single Barrel Private Store pick and it was flat out fantastic and 65 bucks. I guess there are people out there buying these bottles and buying into the hype but not me there are so many great whiskeys out there for well under 100 dollars and 90% of my purchases are 70 bucks and less homey don't play these games
Judge; Great video. It just goes to prove there's a sucker born every minute (the people buying these). Also, some of these distilleries are getting beyond greedy. Thanks and keep the videos rolling.
👏🏾🥃
I was wondering if that Weller Millennium was going to make the list stuff is crazy.
Oh yeah
I agree with you
I had a flight of the Premier Drams (American Whiskey, Bourbon and Rye) half ounce each. They were good but I couldn’t justify $200 a bottle for it. I passed and got a Ry3 16yr light whiskey for $85 that is fantastic. Cheers Judge 🥃🥃
Thanks Michael… good to know
I won’t go above $150 except for a very special purchase bottle and even over $100 is very rough for me to say yes to. Cheers 🥃🥃
Well said
My buddy and I have 2-3 Blue Run. Meh is as good as it gets. Never heard of the rest.
watching the clocking waiting for my email....so excited!!!!
Hope you like it! Cheers sir
These prices have gotten completely out of hand
Another great video Judge
👏🏾🥃Blake!!! Appreciate you
Thanks Judge. Time to call out the silliness
Indeed
That would be 0-7 for me!!!
Weller charging 7500 for maybe 150 dollar juice.
Lol
I have a feeling that that the business model for some of these brands is to slap an extemely high price tag on their bottles in the hope that it convinces some people the juice must be exceptional if the price is so high.
Agreed
100% agree with you judge
Thnx Tony
Thank you for great video
Glad you enjoyed it
hear hear! crazy prices, I'm not buying any of them (: Cheers!!!
$7500!!!!! After I drink it, it needs to drive me home!!!!!!
Lol whiskey with an Uber!!!
"Not Today, Not Tomorrow...NEVER!"
🥃🤣🤷🏽♂️
Plus tax, insane pricing
Would you be suggesting that there are more people winning lotteries than I had imagined? Perhaps there is more to FOMO than I had imagined! Tell me what is wrong with Rare Breed or for that matter, 1792 full proof, or Larceny barrel proof?! I'm at a loss for words here, I just can't imagine what madness might drive anyone into any such choice as to wasting their money as such! Nonetheless, this was a great show as always! Thank you, and cheers!
I hear ya Kirkland
Judge, If you have any extra of your picks you tryna get rid of, let me know.
Will do
That Weller is just plain stupid. You can buy the Jimmy Red BiB in a regular bottle for under $100, it's just the jug that pushes the price. It's actually very good.
👏🏾🥃
Well out of my league Judge,,!
Drinking blue run golden rye as i watch this. Only paid $55. Still think i over paid a little
Just wanted to say you're awesome 👌
I appreciate that!
Too many of these companies are getting too big for their own britches. Sad thing is many of them will not be around in a few years.
Well said Steven!
Great content judge, I'm not purchasing these whiskies either no way... cheers
Thnx Miles
Nope, nope, and hell no. Cheers Judge
I am 60, and I really got into bourbon about a year and a half or so. There is no way in this God's green earth that I will pay $100 for a bottle of bourbon. My max spending amount on a bottle is $75, and only for special bottles a couple times a year when extra money comes in. There are way way to many good bottles in the $30-$50 range for me to buy. Over $40 there are diminishing returns., for the most part, in the price to flavor ratio. Give me a Rare Breed, Coopers Craft 100, Old Forester 1920 or 1910 any day and I can still buy a second bottle.
👏🏾🥃👏🏾🥃
Lol, who's buying this stuff? 😂
The rich…
A fool and his money are soon parted. No way, at those prices you could buy a bunch of good stuff. How good is a 7500 dollar bottle, nuts
😂🥃$$$$$
$400 hundred and no decanter? Jus an ordinary throw away bottle. No, I wouldn't ever!
Literally!
I will never own Willet based on crazy price
7500$ 😮😮😮😂😂😂😂
Bahahahahahaha...definitely none of those for me.
Lol
Lol
prices will drop if no one buys it
if you had Bill Gates money ... you might be buying all y'all (: Cheers!
Lol
I'm not going to be buying them! Miss you and Joy!
Toni!!!! We miss you too my friend!!!
Premier drams is a joke!! They have them at Drug City for 199 and they taste thin at best. Old Stubborn is another waste. Put them in a blind against russels reserve store picks or rare breed or even some ECBP store picks and they lose. Blue run has to be the biggest gimmick ever. I've had several samples of Old Louisville and save your money. The industry should be ashamed of itself for what it's turning into. Way too many 4 year old whiskies that are finished to make it taste better and justify a 100 dollar price when the base 4 year whisky is crap. Be choosey Judge it's all we can do.
Preach!!
Bloody Insane !!!
