How about we say retiring is a personal choice. I do not believe there is no true retiring. Remember, "affordability" depends on who defines it. This means you can say it is not possible if you think it is. Others can think the opposite. English is open to different interpretations

From my own experience I just want to share for ppl looking to YOLO and go the non traditional path. Find something u like to do AND start WITHOUT thinking of making money. Just for the passion. Eventually if u realise there’s a demand for it, that’s where u think about monetising. I went full time trading 4 years ago. Before that I was working about 14-15 years in finance industry. But trading is my interest and passion. When I started out, I didn’t think about how much money I want to make. It was just fun like how some ppl play games. Everyday after work, I will watch market till 1-2am and only slp 4-5 hours a day. Weekends were spent reading and learning. It was only after some time that I thought through how I want to monetise this interest.

Disraeli: "Youth's a folly, mid-age a crisis, and old age a regret." You have to create your own path, and it is easier if you have fewer financial commitments, more self-discipline, and a good social network that creates opportunities and shares good ideas.

Very true, chase what you want but before that read up on how to get to your destination, like for example you want a million dollars, read personal finance book, you want to be a better spouse , read relationship books, you want to be a better person, read self help books, no need to traverse into the unknown when there are tons of articles and books out there to help you

Excellent video and great thinking, Kelvin‼️ You are definitely in the right direction. In many societies, people are not truly happy unless they become really successful. In Finland, they believe that they're not really successful unless they're truly happy. Finland is the happiest country in the world for five years in a row. In the case of Singapore, I believe that most of the population will continue with their 9 to 5 job until they reach the maximum re-employment age. Retirement expenses are very high. Taking care of the medical and daily needs of a large number of retirees is no joke. It is very taxing for the country if too many people are not working. Hence, the system is engineered in such a way to allow citizen to work till they are very old or near to end of life. By doing so, the retirement expenses will be kept to the minimal or even zero for those who passed away whilst they're still gainfully employed.

Sure...As long as you have no wife, no children, no commitments, forever single, or actually find someone who actually don't mind you don't have a stable job, which is like very rare, or you have rich parents who don't need you to earn a stable income to support them. So T&C applies to even be in your position in the first place to quit and do UA-cam videos. Feel the need to mention the caveats which you didn't mention but very relevant to this discussion nonetheless.

Hi Kelvin, I believe we're of the same age. Currently, I'm employed in a corporate job that I enjoy, but I feel that it's not the ultimate path for me. I've always had a desire to create my own sources of passive income and start my own business, while also networking with exceptional individuals such as yourself. Although I've been meaning to start a UA-cam channel, I find myself constantly procrastinating. I'm glad to see that you have succeeded in your endeavors

I retired early fifthies. I worked all my life. I know people who were as ambitious as some of you, started business after university, spent few hundred thousand studying only to go straight into business in the USA. After 25 years later, failed. No cpf and no savings, now only decide to go back to work. Yes,the world is cruel and very cold,no one gives you free money other than your parents.Life is never easy, everyone have their share of problems but life goes on. Do you prefer to work hard when you are in your twenties or wait till fifthies? I dont have many millions but at least some savings, cpf , and own a roof over my head with a family of 4 children.Time passed really fast. Decision on whether to work or have own business is never easy, everyone have to decide.Sometimes we ponder on "what if "we had done this or that, but i guess no one will really knows the outcome. I am happy that i worked really hard when i had full energy to do that when young, dont think i will have the energy and tenacity to do it now.
