Well...exactly. Not sure how a tribute to a boat does anything for a crew that couldn't negotiate a reef that's been there since before Australia was discovered by Europeans.
Sorry to hear the demise of Corsair 111 but at least the crew survived. The sea is a cruel mistress, nobodies immune from her might. Those stormy sea conditions are incredible. Thank you for the videos, I enjoy them immensely.
Very fortunate lads. I watched a video from Sal this morning and he described it perfectly “ the water is great but it’s one purpose in life is to try and kill you, your job is to make it safe “
Having navigated the rip many times. It is hard each time it's different and with the weather conditions and the time this happened would be horrifying. Even for the most experienced of captains. Glad everyone is safe.
I wonder can they salvage anything and or rebuild it or just inspect it. It would have been scary out there. Glad they are safe. I'd be scared as all heck
Fantastic tribute video.
Thanks for this Daff 😊
So glad that everyone is safe and well. Unless there was a mechanical problem, does anybody else see the irony of a pilot boat running into a reef???

A case of poor judgement, human error?
Yes it’s odd
@@sjbechet1111I agree but some unusual currents pushed it? We don’t know what happened. Hopefully it doesn’t happen again
Thanks Dave, thankfully all safe.
Thank you Daff.

Sal has a great informative channel.

Reef was there for few hundred million years but he eventually found it.
A fitting tribute.

Welcome aboard!
if i remember right in the mid 1980s a pilot vessel was lost in the vicinity with the loss of the two crew,
Yes the launch George Tobin, sad day. This was a lucky escape for the tree aboard Corsair.

Just came across your channel. Are you Dave Wallace and part of a yatch club?
I am a yacht club member yes.

Sad report. Highlights how dangerous "The Rip" is!!
You can see that wind-against-tide mayhem in the photos.
Not an ideal job if one suffers from sea sickness.
