I spent time driving in Italy years ago. Yes the roads switch back and forth blindly. I drove with locals and when you get to a blind corner you beep your horn if no one beeps back it means you are clear if they beep back then stop and wait your turn. Hope this helps. Better when you know the beep and safer. Love you guys stay safe have fun
I love sitting in the jump seat with ya'll on travel days. Its as if i was physically there 🤗 😂🤣 Wow, pucker power is the word of the day, when the semi's appeared from around the corner. 😂🤣🥴 Especially when one side is against the wall & the other side is a straight drop off 🥴 Thank you for inviting us along ♥️🤗 Safe travels & Godspeed 🙏♥️🤗
Sooo so glad you folks are taking these back roads instead of the freeways. Sometimes tense driving but beautiful scenery and interesting homes, farms etc. makes it worthwhile. I bet in the late spring, early summer the scenery is stunning there with all the leaves on the trees, flowers in bloom and green grasses. Awesome trip, thanks for taking us along with you. 😊❤
I love watching your videos! I feel like I'm traveling with you and loving it. I am 82 years old and can no longer travel and really miss traveling from place to place but the only place I have ever traveled to that is out of the US is Japan and loved going there years ago. Thanks so much for showing us the world!!!
My partner of 31 years was born and raised in Croatia. I've been 4 times. It's a beautiful country. But you will run into winter in the north (Zagreb - where my husband's family lives and where he lived too).
Good morning Snow and Curt ☀️ What a beautiful drive, if a bit scary in places. My heart was in my throat when I saw those rigs 😱 Excellent job Snow, keeping your home on those narrow roads. I love when you guys travel on the roads less traveled. My hubby and I call them scenic diversions. If we don't have strict timelines, we like to take the side roads, there's just so much more to see and appreciate. Thanks for bringing us along. Safe travels, 🤗🇨🇦
We used to live in Faenza, the bigger town 15 mins from Brisighella (where the 3 hills are with cool stuff on top - the clock tower and fortress). It's a shame you didn't have time to stop in Brisighella as it's really lovely to walk around. The farms between those two towns are famous for kaki/persimmon and kiwi production :D
I was lucky to visit Italy in November for a week as a 70th birthday present, and my son was our driver on the windy roads in the beautiful Chianti region. The roads were so narrow, even for a car, and parking and driving in any town was challenging. We noticed that many vehicles' side mirrors would automatically fold back next to the vehicle body when in park or shut off!
I am so happy you changed plans and went northeast! It's so amazing! We are hopefully going back next year. The Italian Alps is an engineering marvel. Keep going to the Dolomites! Thanks for the reminder of the beauty!
We loved Croatia on our roadtrip there last year especially Rovinh and Plitvice lakes. Ljubljana was definitely worth a visit too, in Slovenia. We would have spent more time in Slovenia if we could have.
Beautiful drive. Y’all have skills!🚐 I cried at the end, looking into G’s gorgeous green eyes. I had to send my sweet boy, Clyde 🐈💕, over the 🌈 bridge last Saturday. He had those big green eyes, too. I’m just 💔. He’d just turned 20 on Xmas Day though, & it was time. I hope you get as much time with your furbabies.🐈💕 As always, safe travels.✌🏻💕
Thx so much. Yes, I’d say he had a great life. I took him, & his sister, Bonnie, in at 6 wks old, & spoiled them rotten! We lost Bonnie at 18. They gave me so many wonderful years, & are immensely missed, but I’m grateful & blessed to have had them in my life so long.🐈🙏🏻💕
I’ve done the road between Bosnia and France many times through northern Italy but using the autostradas so this is all new to me. Are you going to Sarajevo, the Jerusalem of the Balkans? I lived there for 3 years, it has a very special vibe. Slovenia is nice and green but Croatia is stunning. Natural sites, Roman ruins, Aaagh I miss this region of the world
Love coming with you on your country drives, that mountain road experience was interesting, I think I would be more scared in the semi trucks, yikes! Safe travels!💕🇨🇦
Croatia is beautiful. dont miss Dubrovnik, too bad its all the way in the bottom of that country. And there is an amazing nacional park there. Don't remember the name. The back rodes were very cool . Safe travels
💝 I think I really enjoy your trip now after having followed you in South America. Realize how the people took Europe with them to the Americas. Love your travels. Take care! ❇❇❇
Fantastic drive through the Tuscan countryside. It’s known for its lavender fields. The plants are most likely Lavandula angustifolia, the plant of oil commerce. Oil is used since early Roman times for medicinal and home fragrance purposes. I’ve seen the fields of southern France in the Spring, these Italian fields are in bloom from June to August. You made my horticultural day 😊❤
Yes, lavender fields are gorgeous in season. In France, the main area is around Valensole. They are in full bloom by late June. By August, they've all been cut. You can visit a distillery to see how they produce lavender oil. We visited the Lavande Angelvin in shop by the side of the road and went to their tiny distillery. We were the only visiters that day. In the town of Valensole, at the WWI memorial, I remember remarking how many family names were repeated several times (such is the case all over France) and especially the Angelvin name.
Wow! I got to watch you for the first time on a big tv! How much more beautiful can these places be? Now I know. My daughter has the tv and she suggested I watch you at her place. Love it. Thank you for these roads less traveled. ❤
You should try to meet up with Margaret and Ladi, they might even get you more subscribers and they even featured you in one of their videos when talking about tilting solar panels.
The trees that were growing fruits that "looked like tomatoes ", could they possibly be persimmon trees? That's my guess. Anyway, enjoyed the scenery. Thanks again for sharing your journey. 😊
I visited Sicily for 5 weeks last year Sept/Oct. The DRIVES were awesome through towns and Villages. I LOVED everything about Sicily!!! Enjoy your time there. 👍😀 🇮🇹
The Nutria are so cute. We have them all over Oregon as well. I even saw a white one once. Like a beaver and a rat had babies 😁. Beautiful countryside ☺️
@@donnareis6862 it was just trying to be safe. They are water creatures, but even they can out run a flash flood. Not aggressive creatures. It just wanted to live. ☺️
Beautiful country side scenery. Always excited to see a new video drop and enjoy your adventures with my first coffee of the morning. Great way to start off my day. Thanks guys
Pity you didn't get the chance to visit Lunigiana a bit better. Happy you loved Colonnata and Carrara. My grandpa was from that area. Have a lovely, smooth journey to Croatia guys!!!👍🙏💖
It is gorgeous. Thank you for doing this styles of video. Tis is one of my bucket list to do. Just driving and sight seeing on local road in Europe. I found it more beautiful and interesting this way.
Thank you SO very much for sharing your adventures. I look forward to seeing you four (of course including the kitties). I have always wondered - What animals are thinking when they are in a car moving forward/watching things move past them BUT their legs aren't moving. It must be a fun sensation. Off the beaten path, Luv it.
I keep on being disappointed when things are "closed", Europe seems so "managed"! but it is the middle of Winter so things are going to be shut down. It'll be really interesting to see over the boader from Italy, Serbia etc..And wait until May, then there will be the Eurovision Song Contest for you both to experience LOL. Lovely to see the nature. Safe travels..
Che bello viaggiare così, io ho fatto strade di montagna con il camper e con il furgone e hanno un fascino incredibile. Certo attenzione nella guida ma anche un divertimento nel guidare in questi scenari
We are headed to Croatia for 2 weeks towards the end of April and I am so excited. Italy was where we wanted to go but the prices for travel and hotels were crazy. We are big Game of Thrones fans so I am sure we are going to love Croatia. I cannot wait to see your videos from there!
Country roads are the best! And what’s the hurry right?!? We’re loving that part of our retirement, no hurry, sleep in? Sure, why not. Last minute airline deals… ahhhh the joys of getting older
Hari Om Oh yes, this is Snow and Curt getting into their groove again! Not that the Europe journey so far has not been entertaining... but it is to be expected that adjustment phases will be there and the cultural shift is significant; not just between continents, but also between countries on this one continent! I do hope you don't run out of Schengen time though - it can creep up real fast and you've a long way to get out of it yet! YAM xx
One of your comments said it reminds him of some of the roads in tennessee along the appalachia and I was thinking the same thing. What a beautiful trip. I enjoyed that I held my breath at some of those turns that big truck coming by you. Snow and Curt take your kitties are looking for a walk. Enjoy the 2 or 3 days. I'll see you on Wednesday. One of my thoughts were wouldn’t that beautiful right around harvest time. God bless you in all you do.

They have those toilets in Vietnam. I have no idea how you would use them, that doesnt look like a pleasant experience especially waking up first thing in the morning lol

@@rudfil yeah poor choice of words for sure. My bad. I meant looking out my window in the US that is practically brand new compared to where they are. Sorry about that. No offense meant.
The fruit trees you saw, based on the appearance of deciduous red branches and pruning style , could be plum . I saw some apple trees as well. Possibly some persimmon trees with orange-red fruit still handing.
