Thanks for watching Tony. If you have a commercial splitter and a helper it can definitely be profitable. I hadn’t considered it before this customer asked, but I will promote it now.
I just placed my order for a Wolfe Ridge log splitter . I went with the 22 RS auto cycle for speed and simplicity , the 28 Pro was high on my list also . I can't wait to use it
A few years ago, I split for a neighbor on shares. One load for him, one load for me. I took home three pickup loads of wood. I've often wondered since then if there was a market that way too.
Great video. Very rarely do I see videos with people splitting dry firewood, let alone dry hickory. Looks like the splitter handled it pretty well. Looks like you brought the A-team with Jose helping you out. Always love seeing Clifford in your videos as well. Keep up the good work.
Hello Joe. Thanks for watching and thanks for the comments. Those dry hickory rounds were like rock. It was some of the hardest wood I have ever split. Clifford has become a real celebrity in the woodyard!
Hello OGF, splittin' is my best part of firewood, you cut, I split ,Jose' stacks. You fellows made a pile of nice sticks in a short time, the three of you worked together well.
Great video Dick. I been thinking about doing this same venture and after the video I'm going to research even more. That was a very good price and now gives me something to base what I may charge. Keep up the videos and keep on moving!!
Great video Dick! Thanks for taking us along on the job there, Nicely done! Glad that worked out good for you :). Lots of stacking at the end there for sure! Thanks for the update on the HiSea boots! Take care! Andrew from NB :)
I just discovered your video channel and really enjoy it. I have a mobile wood splitting service out here in Oregon and like getting the exercise and a little extra work money. Your splitter does a nice job and watching you change the wedges is useful. Have a good day and thanks for the great video! Scott
??? Yes I think it’s worth it, no cutting, no hauling the wood, etc. Quick bucks with in and out service 🇺🇸👏🏻👍🏻. The upfront deal too is a plus. Keep the videos coming! If you ever up my way give me a holler.
great video. I've thought about offering a splitting service but i wouldn't have a clue on what to do it for. plus, i'm probably slower than most....lol. Jose is a great helper. Hes great to have around. I watched your last video with the opening and review of the HISEA boots. Based on your impression, i bought a pair of steel toes for when im working with wood. They arrived in a couple of days. Like you, i have a wide foot and sometimes cant even get my foot into a boot. These went on easily and were certainly wide enough. They're a good looking, well made boot. The only problem i noticed was that they pinched a little up above the ankle but that subsided as i wore them and once fully broke in, i'm sure they will be fine. For the price, and the lifetime warranty, you cant go wrong. Thanks for posting.
Thanks for watching. I’m charging $85/hour with a 2 hour minimum. I have to have a helper to be efficient! Glad you like the HISEA boots. I’ve been pleasantly surprised with them.
6s in and you've already made a mistake Dick. My edumacated guess on how long I thought it would have taken to do that first pile was no more than 2 hrs. I wasn't that far off. Jose earned his pay that day.
Hello Alan. Jose normally helps me two days a week in my landscape maintenance business. This time of year we are a little slow and we have some time for him to help with wood. He is a great friend and worker. Your guess on time was a good one!
Hey Dick I’ve did it several times, my current pricing is $100/hr with 3 hour minimum, if it takes us less than 2 hours it’s still going to be $300.00.
Cool. But...why didnt you stack that wood back up after splitting it? Seems like that should be part of the service. One guy runs the splitter, one guy stacks the split wood
Hi Jeff. This customer actually had a handyman that worked around his property. We priced the job without stacking. He could save some money by having his guy stack it.
Thanks for watching Rick. It turned out to be a good job. I was amazed at what the customer was willing to pay to get his rounds split. He was very pleased with the end results.
I think mobile splitting is definitely a service worth providing. Keep up the great work. You and Jose are a nice team! Enjoy your day! Brent
Thanks Brent. If all jobs were as profitable as this one it would definitely be worthwhile.
I like the mobile splitting idea, another revenue stream for a firewood business! Great video, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching Tony. If you have a commercial splitter and a helper it can definitely be profitable. I hadn’t considered it before this customer asked, but I will promote it now.
Nice job fellas! I agree, can’t beat the boots for the money!
Good morning Mike. My boots have always been in the $150 range. The HISEA boots amaze me for the price!
I just placed my order for a Wolfe Ridge log splitter . I went with the 22 RS auto cycle for speed and simplicity , the 28 Pro was high on my list also . I can't wait to use it
Thanks for watching. You will love your Wolfe Ridge.
Love the sound of splitting wood! Good work!
Thanks for watching Heath. I know… that is a great sound. About 90% of that wood was really dry hickory. I’ve never split any harder wood.
Great job to you both! Made short work of them log piles for some good money!👍👍
Thanks for watching Jeremiah. I was surprised at how much people are willing to pay to have their rounds split!
Looks like a good service to provide going forward. Thanks for another great video!
If travel isn’t too far I think it might work.
A few years ago, I split for a neighbor on shares. One load for him, one load for me. I took home three pickup loads of wood. I've often wondered since then if there was a market that way too.
I'm sure there is... just not sure how you would find people to partner with you in a barter.
Hey Dick, the Wolfe Ridge will put the wood out with two guys!! Nice job for a few hours, just down the road. Talk to you later. Terry
Thanks for watching Terry. All the commercial splitters really need at least two people to make them efficient.
Great video. Very rarely do I see videos with people splitting dry firewood, let alone dry hickory. Looks like the splitter handled it pretty well. Looks like you brought the A-team with Jose helping you out. Always love seeing Clifford in your videos as well. Keep up the good work.

I did Moble splitting 35 years ago guess I've been doing firewood for a long time.
I’m right there with you!
All that wood in two hrs is very respectable for the Wolf Ridge.👍 Fine job Dick.
Need to get Jose some ear protection though.
Thanks for watching Jimbo. Jose wears foam ear plugs. I didn’t check but I assume he was wearing them. The Wolfe Ridge splitter does a great job.
Hello OGF, splittin' is my best part of firewood, you cut, I split ,Jose' stacks. You fellows made a pile of nice sticks in a short time, the three of you worked together well.
Thanks for watching Ben. I think I agree with you… I like splitting best!
He got his money's worth.
Thanks for watching Patrick. He was pleased and so was I!
Great video Dick. I been thinking about doing this same venture and after the video I'm going to research even more. That was a very good price and now gives me something to base what I may charge. Keep up the videos and keep on moving!!
Thanks for watching Obie. It was a profitable job. I wouldn’t do it without a helper. You need at least two people to make the Wolfe Ridge efficient.
I think it's worth it.. my goal is to look at this option this year and see how it plays out..
I think there is money to be made Daniel. It's nice not to have to buck and stack!
Nice job Dick . Pretty nice , no cutting or stacking , just splitting !!
It's really pretty easy money Del. I'd definitely do it again!
Hi Dick. Thanks for taking us along. Interesting prospect for a side hustle. Have a great one and keep on moving!
Hi Chris. Thanks for watching my friend!
Nice work fellas! Seems like you may have found another side hustle for the Wolf Ridge. Great video Dick👍🏻👍🏻
Hi Todd. Thanks for watching my friend. It has the potential for nice profits if it doesn’t involve too much travel time.
hi from france very beautiful video thank you so much
Thanks so much for watching Yohann! I hope you subscribed and will watch my earlier videos.
Great video Dick! Thanks for taking us along on the job there, Nicely done! Glad that worked out good for you :). Lots of stacking at the end there for sure! Thanks for the update on the HiSea boots! Take care! Andrew from NB :)
Thanks for watching Andrew. I was glad the customer didn’t ask us to stack the split wood. The price would have been high for sure!

I am looking at doing the same thing with my Wolfe Ridge splitter..
No hauling, no bucking, no stacking. I charged $85/hour and the customer was really happy.
Nice too have good help!
I couldn’t do it alone Sten. Jose is a great friend and great worker.

Thanks Phillip. I really appreciate you!
@@oldguyfirewood Welcome, sir!
Great video
Thanks for watching. It turned out to be a very profitable job!
You made short work of those piles and clifford made it in the video stay safe my friend
Hey John. You KNOW Clifford will find some way to photo bomb!
Well done
Thanks for watching. It worked out well.
What did you charge per hour
Thanks for watching Dave’s I charged $85/hour. After doing some research I think the splitter and two people should be $100/hour.
Good vid guys. Grabbing a little cash is always good
Hey Mike. Thanks for watching! It was a profitable job for sure.
Enjoyed the video! KC Don 😉
Thanks so much for watching Don!
Great way Dick to make extra money especially when out of your own seasoned wood.
Thanks for watching Dana. It was very profitable. It amazes me how much people may be willing to pay to have their own wood split.
6s in and you've already made a mistake Dick.

Picked up my tractor last night
Good news. It’s a game changer.
Whats the lift capacity on yours
I believe it’s rated at 350 lbs. Haven’t had one yet it won’t pick up!
I really need to invest in one even if it’s used told the wife she should have one under Xmas but she was like😂
It really makes life easier!
Hey Dick I’ve did it several times, my current pricing is $100/hr with 3 hour minimum, if it takes us less than 2 hours it’s still going to be $300.00.
Thanks for watching Joe. I definitely see the potential. A minimum 3 hours is what I require also.
Just subscribed
Thanks so much for watching and subscribing! I hope you have a chance to watch my previous videos. I love comments… keep them coming!
Awesome stuff hoss, another Avenue for revenue!!
Thanks Greg. It turned out to be pretty profitable!
@@oldguyfirewood Dick, ya gotta hit Hisea up for Jose a pair of boots!!
How much was ur hourly rate to do that
Thanks for watching. My mobile splitting rate is $100/hr. for the splitter and 2 men with a 2 hr. minimum. Travel time is billable.
He got a very good deal for two men
Good to job by hr help out fellow friends .
Thanks for watching Leonard!
How's that kubota? With it being a diesel engine, do you just let it run when you're using it? Or are those diesel engines ok to start and stop a lot?
Hey Jeff thanks for watching. The diesel on the RTV 900 can be turned on and off no problem.
I’ve seen someone pull into our neighborhood’s front yard and he fired it up and split a bunch of wood for her.
Win/win for sure! Thanks so much for watching.
You could do your taxes on that cycle time lol
Ha! Sometimes you have to slow down to go faster!!
Mr Dick : What kind of wood was that ? Looked like White Oak to me ......
Thanks for watching Anthony. About 90% of that wood was hickory. The real dry hickory that had been stored under the shed was as hard as rock!
Well worth it if you can get it done quickly enough if not then stay with the hourly rate Dick
Thanks for watching Todd. With a helper it can be very profitable.
Great job Dick and some extra cash also👍🏼🚜🪵🇺🇸
If you don't have to travel far I can see it as being a real money maker Larry.
Seems like a sweet deal Dick…..close by….just split…a little gas and a little time…..I would think it’s a win, win 🪵🪵🪵🪓👍👏🇺🇸 Rick
Thanks for watching Rick. It turned out to be a good job. I was amazed at what the customer was willing to pay to get his rounds split. He was very pleased with the end results.
