Will do brother! I’m gonna contact my shop and see if they will look it over. They typically don’t touch the hydraulic side of splitters, but it’s just the engine in this case. Gotta be a stupid simple fix…!!
That pile of wood looks like it needs more work than just splitting. Of all the vertical splitters, the Axis seems to have the most power and widest blade. I havn't seen one stop on a piece of wood yet.
Yessiree James! The pear wood on the top needs some buckin’… And I’ve gotten wood stuck on the wedge. Typically the Beechnut and Norway maple give me a rough time… I just have to read the grain better, and not play “hero” and it all works out in the end - haha 🤣
@@kenskuts we get red oak and maples but no hickory. I may start saving a bit of the nicer straight grained stuff and try to get a premium for it. Nothing ventured nothing gained.
Some of those chunks were really knotty. Hope you can fix the splitter. Hope you can get rid of the ants - could make things nasty for the other wood. Stay safe.
That first dark crotchy piece was a trunk of hard maple, I believe it was silver. Been laying around the woodshed for some time and it was time to get split…! I was tired of moving it around! I opened some apple and pear off camera. I’ll show the rest in a future video once I resolve the engine issue….
Pear 🍐 one of my favorites
It’s some tough splitting wood too…! Almost like hickory…!!
Good Splitting 👍 I love the shirt I got from you, I've gotten a lot of compliments on it. Hope you are able to fix that linkage easily.
Thanks for the support Lyle! I’m sure the linkage mess is an easy fix. I’ll contact my shop ASAP. Wrong time to be without an operable machine !!!
👍
Where in PA are you?
That’s some gnarly looking stuff buddy. The Axis still eats it. Keep me posted on the linkage, can’t imagine it’s something too bad. 👍🔥

Hi Ken I found you over at Willey's :) Russ & Kevin were talking about you 👍, That is a nice splitter for those big ones :) Work safe take care
Thanks for the sub! Kevin and Russ are great dudes! Catch you on the next one!
If we aint breaking stuff we aint workin!!!! Easy fix though, may have to take off the air cleaner box to have good access to it. 💪💪
Exactly!! Great thoughts. I’ll have to look into that or maybe 🤔 just take it to the shop!

@@kenskuts Pear is a real nice wood, like all fruit and nut woods. You don't get it often.
Cherry is the fanciest smoker wood I get here in Maine. Even at that I don’t get much of it.
White and red oak can be smoked, as well as silver and sugar maple, if that’s available for you. No hickory in Maine?

Thanks for watching Robert! (I edited out the wood that stuck to the wedge!)
Was that first piece pear that you split? I never have had any pear here.👍👍
