- There's just something fun about licensed games. Sure, a lot of them are terrible. And maybe I just have a soft spot in my heart for video games based on a movie or tv show or food product I like.
But I enjoy them. Here's 10 SNES licensed games that prove that not all licensed games are terrible.

Yep. Rock n Roll Racing has a Genesis release. And it has one more song: Radar Love.
There's also another isometric racing game called Biker Mice from Mars.
You would never see a game like Michael Jordan Chaos in the Windy City today. This is one reason why people play retro games.
True. And to think this game is the reason Michael Jordan wasn't in NBA Jam--He, like Shaq & Charles Barkley had separate deals for their own video games. Too bad Shaq-Fu & Barkley: Shut Up & Jam sucked...

Rock and Roll Racing on the Genesis has basically DOUBLE the tracks as on the snes. In the Super Nintendo and Gameboy Advance versions, the tracks repeat when the player graduates from Division B to Division A. In Rock n’ Roll Racing for Sega Genesis, the player is treated to a whole new set of race tracks for each division.

well we did get a space jam game on the ps1 though it wasnt a platformer
Good list, and I agree that True Lies & Maui Mallard are underrated. I'll also add Dino City, The Addams Family, Inspector Gadget, Time Trax, Tiny Toon Adventures: Buster Busts Loose!, Magical Quest Starring Mickey Mouse, Batman Returns, and The Adventures of Batman & Robin to the list of licensed SNES games that don't suck.
^In addition, there's Demolition Man, Goof Troop, Aladdin, all three Star Wars games, Hook, X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse, Terminator 2: The Arcade Game, all three Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers games, Animaniacs, Robocop Vs. The Terminator, Wolverine: Adamantium Rage, Phantom 2040, Judge Dredd, Stargate, An American Tail: Fievel Goes West, & some of the Looney Tunes games (especially Daffy Duck: The Marvin Missions & Taz-Mania).
I actually enjoyed True Lies the film and the game as well, I thought it was really well done. I struggled with the game after the shoot up in the bathroom scene, but it was still fun!
Superman was...interesting. Like you said, they had to find a way to make it work as a beat-em-up game and I feel like while it wasn't as good as it could have been, it was still fun.
Rock n' Roll Racing and Pirates of the Dark Water were both amazing games, though I must confess I didn't play a few of the other games on your list, like Cool Spot or Maui Mallard.

The Krusty game is a reskinned version of the Amiga game "Rat Trap".
chaos in the windy city is the most under rated licensed game. loved that game as a kid.
Ngl Snes beat em ups really just copied Final Fight and called it a day. Which isn't a bad thing.
Oh man of all of these games I really really need to play True Lies. I think I remember somebody highlighting it before Maybe Josh.... I can't remember. It's one of my favorite movies though. Who cares about trying to work out and get Linda Hamilton arms when you can have Jamie Lee Curtis body.
God I love Death and return of Superman. Other licensed games that I enjoy are Robocop V. Terminator and the two spiderman beatemups. And of course my guilty pleasure game Revolution X...Music is a weapon.
I will ALWAYS love Revolution X. As a lifelong Aerosmith fan, it gets special dispensation to be one of my favorite arcade experiences - and the home ports ain't bad, either!
I completely forgot abut Robocop V Terminator! I love that game!
Fun fact: every game is a licenced one,those titles who aren't official so to speak are called bootlegs,homebrews and such.

Rock n roll racing is one of the best racing games forsure i agree, but i also thinks its obe of the best games on the console, top 20 if not top 10 in my opinion!
Do not sleep on Cool Spot, its one of the best platformers.
Great list of games man. I have really amazing memories of renting Rock n Roll Racing and Krusty’s Super Fun House! True Lies is on my short list to get and try, it looks like a really fun game. Totally awesome games and video!

Nice list but you should try Batman Returns and The Adventures of Batman and Robin for SNES.
Adventures of Batman and Robin was on the previous iteration of this list, and Returns was the last game cut. :)
Getting into the deep cuts here! True Lies is one my mom wouldn’t let me rent 😂 but clearly I missed out! Maui Mallard I do have some nostalgia for, and it looks like it’s held up pretty well
Maui Mallard has legitimately one of the best animation systems on the SNES. I'm floored by how good it moves!

Looney tunes bball is almost like a space jam game. I think it's because they couldn't obtain the license to space jam so they went in that direction and left Michael Jordan

@@SquarePegs it's a pretty fun game. It it doesn't take itself too seriously and it's got elements that wouldn't be in a regular basketball game

Biker Mice from Mars, against all expectations, was actually pretty good.
Biker Mice from Mars was my first game featured in the original SNES video I did for licensed games. SO much better than it has any right to be!
Absolutely love the SNES Cool Spot game! The neighbor kids had a SNES and we'd take turns beating levels - I was awesome at the rope jumping level! Good times.

Cool Spot is even better on the Genny, but I agree, all of these games don't suck ass. They range from average to fantastic.
