That's a very authentic version of Defender. Good to see one finally appear for the ZX81. I do ZX81 coding myself as Bukster Games. I use Flat Assembler which compiles the code straight into a .P file. The code screen looks to be called CodeWright. Is that a better program and where do I get it from?
CodeWright is the editor I used in my day job until recently, I just use it for Z80 assembly language because I'm familiar with it. For assembling I use sjAsmPlus but that only creates a .BIN file not a .P so you're probably better sticking with what you have.
This seems to be highly playable.
Well, maybe the ZX81's original keyboard adds a new level of difficulty. 😉
