Rusty Fuzz Pedal Review - In DEPTH

- Apologies to the people of both the Netherlands and Denmark for my map mistake. I really didn't mean to bring you into this, Netherlands. You're just sitting there, minding your business, eating your Bitterballen and just get dragged into a fuzz video. Then Denmark is all like "What the hell? We made this pedal!" But look - if you and the Danes could be friends after the Torstenson War - you can be friends after a UA-cam mixup! And I'm too lazy to fix the map.
This is A big, fat, geeky, in-depth review of the TC Electronic (TCE) Rusty Fuzz pedal.
Rusty Fuzz sounds galore.
Not a bad cheap fuzz pedal review - if you ask me.
It may be subjective but honestly one of the best pedal reviews I’ve ever seen (and I’ve seen a lot). Love the geeky aspect regarding the construction. Subscribed 👍
Thank you - this was the best pedal review video I've seen.
Watching this because the JHS Smiley is wayyy too expensive!
This pedal is truly a hidden gem. Sounds amazing, built like a tank
This is by far the most informative demo of this pedal. I really like how you show different settings and describe them in detail. Very well done!
I tried both the EHX Big Muff PI (original design) and the Dunlop Fuzz Face (light blue one) fuzz pedals. I felt that the Rusty fuzz pedal sounded better and more inspiring to me.
I suppose that's the funny thing with pedals. Hearing a final result is half the story. A Big Muff has a very specific feel to it that you definitely won't get with this Rusty Fuzz - but dang this Rusty Fuzz records and plays well with different equipment way easier!!!
@@misterguitargeek Hi, the TC Rusty Fuzz Inspired by the Boss Fz-3 ... is the Rusty Fuzz sound more of a fuzzface or tonebender ?
Haha, you showed the Netherlands, but tc is a Danish firm, not sure if they'd be too happy about that ; )
But since it's from China anyways...
You make it sound really great btw, I'm seriously considering this, thanks!
DerEchteBold Oh, Crap!
Haha - not
Outstanding job hitting all the bases on a low cost fuzz,- hey, man. - the luv has got to start somewhere.,..
would you recommend this or the green russian fuzz?
They're really different. Green Russian is a big muff .. more of a fuzzy distortion while this is a bit more of a traditional fuzz.
If you don't know that you like fuzz the greenwashing is probably going to be easier to get into. But I actually think this one's a solid pedal
Good review. Nice analysis. Well done
could get and eric johnson tone with this?
Hard nope on a rope
Great information❣️
Recording sounds , tones and graph/data collecting are in the perfect presentation.
Thanks all the info of guitars, the controls and the amps.
Very easy to understand how to control the TC Rusty Fuzz.
Excellent Review, I am impressed, I liked the different tones and for $79AU you can't go wrong!
Amazing
"Rusty Fuzz must be a Danish joke, yes? For redheads? ...down there?
you can go wrong for 50 bucks, i've been there
It's Danish not Dutch.
Thanks for the review!
Thank you for your review. I need to find a good (cheap) fuzz, playing blues from hendrix to Black PistolFire... Have you ever tried the Biyang fuzz ? I wonder which one to buy...
Mehdi Acoustic Jam I believe the Biyang is a Big Muff clone or similar. It seems generally well regarded but suffers from perhaps a lower build quality. Your call, really.
Thank you for your answer. I think I'll try the TC Electronics :)
Wow! What an excellent review. Very informative and comprehensive. I think I'll get one of these. I'm searching for the "No Quarter" sound. One question - why is the Bassman breaking up? No electricity any more?
That Bassman was an HX Helix model - interesting that I subsequently got a legit one and they behaved the same way.
I don't know what you're talking about, but I acknowledge your knowledge :) Tried to make a joke - breaking up? Does that mean full gain?
@@blueshorecreative3146 In that context, "breaking up" means that the amp is starting to overdrive. It is known to sound best with fuzz pedals.
It runs on 9v battery
Great job!
What kind of transistor is in there?
Mar ooh Silicon.
can it run on battery or is it solely powered by a/c?
Jimmy P DC wall power only, but I bought a cheap adapter to allow using a 9V. works great
Jimmy P i was wrong. battery is ok
so no battery option it seems...
MR B Yes, there is. You have to unscrew the bottom screws to access it. I also bought one of those old carbon style batteries and tried it. Maybe it sounded different but it wasn't enough to Warrant making a big deal about.
It can mush. But, can it gate?
Be a man and use your damn volume knob... Lol
Real question is: can it chug?
