The engine is under the steps, that is the battery compartment. You can remove the tube and the bunks in the forward v-berth and install a bed, we did it on mine.
Baltic 42DP or 43 JV i looked at a 371 before i bought my Baltic 37, it needed work but like you commented, its a swan and its bullet proof. German Frers are my favorites
A beautiful boat...in need of some serious intervention before she passes the point of no return. Love teak, but those decks need continuous maintenance to ensure that they survive.
I recently purchased a 371 swan and, after navigating and enjoying how she felt, I noticed that the cap shrouds were sitting aft on the chainplate of the intermediate shrouds, giving me a different feel than I am used to, CAP shrouds FWD and intermediate seated AFT. I’ve been struggling to figure it out with the swan boys here where I live in Spain and thought about writing directly to you. It would be a great pleasure to know if this is the original configuration or if it has been changed by the previous owner or rigger by accident. Best regards and fair winds
@@SailingAnarchyUSA Hello Scot! did you have any luck on checking the position of the shrouds, it would be of tremendous help!! all the best for sailing anarchy!
Maybe you have to be old to like it, but that looks so so weird compared to new boats and no one I know wants a mono boat. Catamarans are in and these old wood things look like a nightmare of hassle and trouble.
With respect, unfortunately your comments are not completely accurate. Original Swan 43’s (S&S magnificent designed) had extensive blistering issues and Nautor did not stand behind their work. They were exceptionally beautiful boats but the resins were not properly cured in a suitable warm environment.
I believe the Bukh engine is made in Denmark and is not British. There is a reason you will find them in many lifeboats. (but hopefully you aren't buying this boat for the engine!)
you are indeed correct Sir. Most Swan owners have replaced their original Bukhs with something with more horse power since Swans are heavy boats. I have a 40hp Solè engine in my Swan 371
Great videos Scott! Mike Smith (Accord - Peterson 37) says hello!!
I still love the interior of Swans or Baltics new boats interiors remind me of a hospital room psych ward

Wonderful boat, the first Swan I was invited to sail on. Not very fast but a real ship.
This is the same boat i have in Norway, and it is the best blue water cruiser i can think of.
All the Swans are well built and go go go
At last somebody that knows what their talking about, excellent !
Many thanks for Very nice review.
I actually got this boat hull#57.
And love it!
I love the retro series.
Miss ya Scott. You do great boat reviews .

You could do either John’s or mine. We both have Baltic 43s now. One of the true classics of the mid 80s
Very nice, fun and informative - keep them coming! :)
That boat is amazing
These have all been cool, but still waiting on the Express 37! :)
we shot it last friday and we have at least one more to launch and then the express - you will like it!
@@SailingAnarchyUSA Great to hear!
LOL ...that was awesome !!
Please do a retro on a F&C 44! They are the most beautiful design of German Frers!
Scotty - you have to get them out sailing - on a bit of pressure especially the good pedigree
we have sailed 2 - they sail wonderfully.
Swans and their split cockpit, what is that purpose? Love Swans!!! Ooooh I want to go sailing when you need that seat belt!!!!!

I love it
Tell us about that beauty next door! Classic or modern faux classic?
How about a Rhodes?

So obviously this is the lighter side of Sailing Anarchy, it’s a refreshing change from the A hole cynical format of the daily website
What is the beauty to starboard?
a near perfect Cheoy Lee 36 i believe
Swede 55 please :)
How about a C&C 44. Classic Racer/Cruiser
Never made a 49..
