I remember a funny incident when u played a gig in Moscow for the 1st time. We stayed in the club after the show, and when we decided to go home, we stuck behind the gates that separate people and the band with u guys. And security thought we are together so we almost went further on tour with u.
Hey, please excuse me, this post got very long. But, as a fellow Mucc fan, I am curious about your thoughts. Here's my actual response post: Oh man, really?! I mean, it's your taste, I have no right to question it. But I do think that Mucc have always put out at least some incredibly strong songs on every fucking album that I'd consider career highlights. And I find this so remarkable bc imo not many bands can keep up with that consistency this long into their career. Like, what about any of the following songs: - Sei to shi to kimi - Myakuhaku - Yueni matenrou (probably my 3 fav late-era Mucc songs) - Ms. Fear - Overdrive - Zettaizetsumei - Timer (that whole ending: "Mirai wa... mirai wa shinde..." 😍) - World/Goner You seriously don't like any of those? Furthermore, I am really enamored with Shangri-La from 2012. It's kinda my surprise favourite album of theirs, if you get what I mean. Ofc there's the classics like Hoyouku, 6, Gokusai and Shion and so forth, but that Shangri-La album... man, I really really love it! It's so colourful. Maybe that's the problem for some people, that it's too eclectic. But still, almost all the songs I find incredibly strong and creative. Literally 2/3 of the songs are top tier Mucc material for me. And there is also the EP from 2019, Kowareta Piano Living Dead, which brings back some old school vibes imo, and in a good way. If I remember correctly, they used some older material there. I mention this EP bc a) I think the songs are very strong and b) I can imagine this release having flown over quite some people's heads, bc for some weird reason they put out like four or five "albums" with a very similar cover on streaming services, and some are only ok-sounding live albums. So in my mind there is a chance that you missed this release. In which case, you'd be missing out imo 😉 Should you want to find it: It has this black-and-white cover artwork, has nine songs and opens with a slightly creepy-circus-y piano intro, and then kicks you in the teeth with the super energetic opener Psycho. @@muenchhausenmusic wow the answer seems easy: i'm not as big a fan as you or maybe I'm too old for this sh*t Sure, some tracks on later albums that are individually incredible but I miss the production value (and consistency!) of Hoyouku or Kuchiki no Tou. They began to lost me with the synth-disco of Anjelier (seriously?!) and the over the top electric riffs of Fuzz on Shion. And so on. I don't like really like Shangri-La for the same reasons. Too bright, too clean. Bland IMO. And since the release of Siren, they created... Ai no uta... outch
It would be interesting if they made an anisong this time (they did many anisongs during the Shangri-la era). Or at least they could cover their own-produced songs from Ensemble Stars or ARGONAVIS.
It sounds great, although I find it a little distracting that the melody sounds similar to the white stripes - seven nation army. But I still love this work, it sounds super fresh
Woooooooow, you're absolutely right!!!! I think this song was almost certainly inspired by the Maneskin one! I think at least Miya always keeps an ear to the ground and might have felt urged to also do a song like this. At the very least I know this phenomenon very well myself, hahaha 😂 But for real, the musical material that both riffs draw from, the scale so to say, are almost identical. And it's a quite uncommonly used one. The fact that this came out mere months after the Maneskin one makes it very unlikely that Miya just randomly came up with this on his own. I'm not knocking it, though. Both songs are different enough from one another, so it's fine. Plus I like this one here even more, hehe 😁 Steadily increases and explodes towards the end, while Maneskin played it a bit safe imo
