Just read all those comments about whether he is Faroese or Danish or whatever, but does it really matter, as long as keep on making these great songs?
@Randimable The Faroe Islands colonial status ceased in 1948, and are now, as I just said, an autonomous province of Denmark. Way to "know what you're talking about", bellend.
this song is brilliant, this performance was brilliant, and Teitur is brilliant. And I don't know why people are arguing over where he's from...it certainly isn't this planet.
I'm danish, and honestly couldn't care less about his origin. What matters is his music which is beyond beautiful. Something we don't see in this modern day of lets-make-nothing-but-club-music.
for all you teitur fans out there. if you whant to hear Teitur sing in his native language(Faroese), then there is a good song hear on youtube - watch?v=C3NISCu6Vbw&feature - you will not be dissapointed.
Hey out there Teiturs last name is Lassen typically danis last name - but i think he would not be as good and special if he is if had been living in denmark. But denmark roules annyway and with out us you would be a big bank collaps so let us help you as a firend not as an emeny - like england we let you go when you can tak car of you selves - we are still a bit viking but no longer violence ones
@Soraplushie Well... I'm Faroese and while that might have happened, I doubt there would have been rape, murder and colonising in an area which was under Scandinavian control for many years both before and after the Viking era. I can see that my account name might have thrown you, but I know my history and yours.
@RakeHumping Yeah you're probably right about that. Thruthfully, I don't care that much about Danes getting these things wrong, that's of course not what's important. On the other hand, if one never says anything, people might think that one or the other side are right when they aren't. So sometimes I comment and sometimes I don't. This time, I commented.
@Lippreader No it's not the same thing at ALL. New York is located in America, and not in the middle of the sea, in some islands for itself. If you go back when India was a British colony, do you think anyone who loved being in India, would refer to themselves as British, when they had lived in India their whole life? No, just no.
Danish kingdom... There those silly Danes go again with their colonialism :) I'm just glad Teitur already has stated that he is Faroese, and even offered his acceptance speech as "Best Male Artist" at the Danish Music Awards, in his native language, so as to set the record straight that he is Faroese... Give credit where credit's due... To him and to his country...
One of the reasons Denmark would want to classify the Faroe Islands as Danish would be that Teitur would be all Danish. Unfortunately he isnt and luckily he isnt. Teitur is amazing just the way he is, so why change anything :)
@ThePrincessMeowMeow You're right. I shouldn't call Danes silly. That was uncool amd untrue That being said. The rest of your post is just laughable and I am pretty sure you have no idea what you are talking about...
@tkblfc I know he is not danish but Faroese and has always known - sorry not mentioning it anny clearer in my coment - he might be half dane due to his last name lassen .... but thats another storry
I would just say faroe island people. be glad that you have the support of Denmark, you lost without us. You can do nothing on your own, you're lyke 45.000 people and he is the only one who is known!
I can tell he's tuned to an open major key, when he strumms. Aurally he's playing in F. However, the capo is on 3. That means his guitar is tuned to open D. Is that enough to start?
Greets! Any idea what the chords would be, with or without capo? I'm poor at tab, a more intermediate player, and too old to learn above my current average status. LOL Tx much for any/all help! If you would, message me?
well, this song is in a different tuning D A a high F# High, D maybe a lower A and then i higher D again i think...you could play this without the capo, but you would have to transpose all the positions. As far as the chords it's the basslines that decides that, but i think its pretty straight forward...just a couple of octaves and stuff over the D...this is only from what i can hear tho...JUST MESS AROUND WITH IT!
This songwriter seams to be a very special guy - Teitur, so great! He ist the fire - and I know a woman, she feels like an O-cean; I think, they know about this energy, and about the rhythm of love, who is inbetween everyone. So the one love will come truth. With love - J.
@cyberspace123 meh, faroese kind of adopted some danish surnames for obvious reasons (hey, we're still under your crown, whether we like it or not), does not mean everyone with a "danish" surname is related to denmark within the last few generations :)
This is the crappiest song I've heard in a long, long time. I heard it while waiting for takeout food in a restaurant, and it droned on and on and on...
+Chris topher You clearly don't have much of a life to hear a song you hate while waiting for takeout, then to come on UA-cam, and comment that you don't like it, most normal people would move on from that experience and forget about it...
2019 and still AMAZING... this is such a gem of a performance.
True
Perhaps my favorite song of all time. So beautifully written! I can't get over it.
2016 and still listening.
I heard this song in a Food Maxx after midnight. That is all.
He is so very talented.
And as for his looks, he looks very charming and sweet, intelligent.
Just read all those comments about whether he is Faroese or Danish or whatever, but does it really matter, as long as keep on making these great songs?
I got to see him live a couple years ago & he really really impressed me!!!
Im here because i-hop was playing it....

@Randimable Danish colony? Wat?
Last I checked, we were an autonomous province of Denmark. There's a difference.
This is one hell of a song writer and his delivery is right on. I keep coming back to his stuff here. Very listen-able.
I'm danish, and honestly couldn't care less about his origin. What matters is his music which is beyond beautiful. Something we don't see in this modern day of lets-make-nothing-but-club-music.

Randimable, I'm not a 100% you really know, what you are talking about.
Themightychickens thoug, he seems to get it. I'm from the Islands to..
had me in the fog plucking strings of a standing piano.
I don't hope you mean that. This song deserves not to be smothered in keyboards and stuff. This version is much more earnest.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teitur_Lassen . Want more proof, then ask agian.
So you say the faroe islands is a danish colony? you should try to do some research
@fidelio1980 no unfortunately, the correct way to say it is with emphasis on "tei".
Does somebody know the tuning he's using for this song?
JOHN MAYER RAVES ABOUT THIS ARTIST!!! I see why...nothing boring here.
@treehugger02084
Yes he does sing in faroese as well ;)
Hope to see Teitur one day 😊❤️🌹🎶🎶🎶. Awesome music artist and one of my favorite Teitur songs .
This version is much better than the album version.
I can't believe he was on the bullard show. :)
@cyberspace123 he's Faroese, NOT danish !
Us Faroerians are the greatest I daresay.
Greets!

look it up. There are tons of websites.
Do you got any other musicians?
Hahaha
This songwriter seams to be a very special guy - Teitur, so great!

this is what music is all about!!!!!!

@ToldoMexes Ignorant remark alert...
I like his way of sitting. He looks so innocently. But his face in this clip exspresses energy and he whole looks very interesting. I like his songs
I heard this song at Food Maxx. Explains why I never heard it on the radio.
*JEALOUS!*
could someone tab this?!!!!
Just looked him up cos he's playing at Electric Picnic music festival - liked him instantly! Hopefully, I'l get to see him live!

This is the crappiest song I've heard in a long, long time. I heard it while waiting for takeout food in a restaurant, and it droned on and on and on...
+Chris topher we have pointless, repetitive rap and this is the crappiest that you've heard?
+Chris topher You clearly don't have much of a life to hear a song you hate while waiting for takeout, then to come on UA-cam, and comment that you don't like it, most normal people would move on from that experience and forget about it...
Teitur is pure wonder. This is real music!
Teitur tú rular
awww the ocean :D
Now that would just be ungentlemanlike!
Yes, he sings in Faroese as well. :)
