- Video I recorded looking up at the One World Trade Center skyscraper in New York City, NY. One of the tallest buildings in the United States, standing on the grounds of the former World Trade Center Towers.

I'll be there in a week! I wasn't alive to see the original towers but they seemed taller than this one.

@@Eaterfood123 South tower was 1,362 ft, North tower was 1,368 ft. One World Trade Center is 1,368 ft without antenna and 1,776 ft with.
It looks so much more massive in person. You'll enjoy the visit! Make sure to stop at the reflecting pools next to the building as well. And if you have time try to visit the underground 9/11 Memorial & Museum. You'll get chills seeing some of the stuff down there.

This "One World Trade Center" is not beautiful like the Twin Towers were. The Twin Towers were one if the most beautiful building of NYC.

The one world trade center seems smaller than the north tower. Even tho its the same it just looks smaller
despite how small it looks it's actually slightly taller than the north tower

I wonder what the policy is there about having the roof door locked
no one was going to be saved from the roof on that day. The helicopters wouldnt risk flying into the smoke, and even if you tried to get to the roof, the smoke inhalation would have killed you before you could reach the door.

I Would Not have Put a Spire on Top of that Building.
Mostly because of the Lessons Learned from 9/11.
It Seemed to Me at 9/11 that it was Possible to Rescue People from the Roof of the Twin Towers Via Helicopter. (If No Spire)
We Know We Can Lift Objects onto the Top of Buildings Via Quality Helicopters.
Therefore there was a Chance We could have Saved People Via the Roof.
Further,
The World's Architects, Builders, Town Planners are Stuck Building on One Maybe a Few Small Blocks of City Land.
Someone Must Build a Genuine Large Low Rise Structure which Covers Hectares of Area, but Leaves the Ground Level Empty of Homes/Commercial Structure.
My Preference is to Include Building Over Existing Roads/Transport.
This Would Allow Improvements with that Transport.
This Would Allow Large Home/Unit Sizes and Possibilities.
Let's Suspend High Rises for a While, Build Some Large Low Rise Multi-purpose Structures.
No one does roof rescues with helicopters, because this isnt Hollywood. You want to go away from the smoke in a fire, not into it, that means going down, not up. Also, the antenna was necessary, because a lot of radio, TV and satellite broadcasts from it. We lost like 4 major channels during the months after 9/11 before they could figure out a way to broadcast them from the Empire State Building. Why do you think they would they put a 700 foot tall mast on a building, for decorative purposes?
