He was my first 'gay crush'. When I was a young gay teen watching this story line, I loved him, and it made such a difference being able to see somebody going through the same thing I was going through. I still crush pretty hard on him to this day.
oh same here... I was hot for him in 1992? and still hot for him now. I watch this clip because I was just over on his Instagram page, and I always remember him as Billy. His voice is so high here still...and I would rush home to OLTL at 1pm. Never miss a minute of him.
Not much was done with the Billy character was done after he came out to everyone. They tried to include stories with him getting harrased at school and having a boyfriend but they didn't really go anywhere
He comes back again for HIV Awareness day (when television shows mention HIV related issues for one day). I don't have a copy of that appearance. I'm thinking it was in 1994.
I felt very sorry for Billy Douglas on "One Life To Live", especially after he was rejected by his father. But, Sloan Carpenter was like a surrogate father to Billy. I still remember the scene when Billy almost got slapped by Walter (his father), and Virginia (his mother) did nothing. Luckily, Sloan stopped Walter from hitting Billy.
That s kind if strange that Sloan was a surrogate father to Billy considering he was a big to his own plate son that was gay. I never did understand that. Billy seemed like such a sissy...
Oh i remember this scene...is there more of Billy Andre Sloan in this episode also showing how how far his father has come...kinda getting a 2nd chance with Billy as a father that he could not be and support his son. Always lived this storyline andnwish they had been able to really do more with Billy and that it did not always have to be about "issue" driven with the character.

Yep, so they wrote him off the show.
but for 1992 that was a big deal
@@truecrimelover2022not really a big deal. Not common but not like it was 1975. Lol. There wasn’t a huge shock factor or anything.
