Unfortunately it was clear to me that 38” 3840x1600 OLED wasn’t going to happen after CES this year. They are committed to 3440x1440 for all 21:9 sizes. We have to wait for the 45” 5120x2160 21:9 OLEDs to become a thing which is going to be a couple more years.
I've used both 34" flat and curved ultrawide monitors, and yeah you need that curvature. It's actually amazing just how much of a difference a slight curve makes, when it comes to comfortably viewing the edges.
honestly makes no sense I think its entirely placebo. I have an Alienware DWF with the slight curve and its so small its essentially pointless.. I ony see it mattering for monters like that Samsung 49" or whatever that has an insane curve.
@@DelScully Maybe it's just personal tolerance, but the parallax you get with IPS panels due to their polarisation layer on a flat ultrawide, made viewing and interacting with content at the left and right edges of the screen (especially thin scroll bars) uncomfortable. A flat 34" or even something as wide as this 40" OLED ultrawide might be ok, as the panel type has no parallax with pixels appearing to more or less sit at the surface of the screen. That said, if anyone is on the fence between going flat or curved, I would strongly recommend the latter. The DWF (which I also use) I think has the perfect amount of curvature.
My wife just bought the MAG401QR for her birthday, she just had a 60hz fhd 24in panel previously. I play on a 32 inch 4k monitor and she wanted something bigger for days when she works from home. She and I both loved it as soon we got it setup on her desk. I did end up having to order a new arm with a higher weight limit but it's well worth it. My monitor is not high refresh rate either only 60hz so it's my first experience and it's threatening to change my mind about 32 inch oled as my next display. i work from home as a sysadmin have 2 side displays and i've always been interested in an ultra wide but it just felt niche. But 40 inch ultra wide feels amazing for productivity it's great for multiple windows with text and small widgets.
One thing I wish could be shown is split screen multiplayer on games because that's one thing I'd be worried about losing going to an ultra wide instead of 2 monitors side by side and I would like to see how the resolution scaling would do in that
I have this one and it is amazing! I cannot notice any bad blur, stuttering or tearing at all with my AMD 7900 XTX and I think it is due to using AMD FreeSync Premium. Excellent large and very comfortable monitor with superb build quality.
I'm still enjoying my LG 40WP95C. 72Hz refresh rate? Oh well. It's 5k2k resolution, plenty of ports, IPS, built in speakers, plenty of ports, plus is slightly curved. I'll wait until someone puts out a similar monitor but with faster refresh rates and response time at the same resolution and size.
I so agree, I wish there were more 40" Ultrawide options at 1440p, it's definitely on my wish list. I checked out a 34" Ultrawide in store and I just found them a bit on the small size and wanted something just a bit bigger for more immersion and a more cinematic experience. I get why 34" ultrawide is so popular at 1440p due to optimal pixel density when sitting only a few feet from the screen but I would happily give up some pixel density for a slightly bigger screen.
I was facing the same problem. I had a 34” Ultrawide monitor from MSI that I was using for a while and it just began to be very small. So I upgraded and bought a 40”IPS monitor from INNOCN recently and gave the 34” to my dad. I would definitely recommend looking at this brand PC Centric recommended and the Innocn 40C1R both are great products imo.

27" is ideal for WQHD, 24" for FullHD. So it depends of your videocard - what res can pump up in bearable fps. In vertical height the visible part should be 35cm for 1440p. (usually there is additional frame, so the screen gets to 38cm) If it is bigger, the display would be grainy. If smaller you will be tempted to look at it by too close (leading to eye problems). You might want to go larger 4k with that GPU. Depends what type of games you play. If mostly first person shooters, go with the smaller displays either 2k or 4k. Consider getting an OLED instead of IPS if you want the best for HDR content and more calm multiplayer games or single player centric.
I think its a good widescreen, its just not for me, especially with no HDR. I game on a 77" OLED, I only use it for gaming on Xbox and my PC (4090). I know it maxes out at 120hz, but it does the job for what I need, which is 4K HDR @ 120fps gaming. I would probably pick one up fo rmy other rig, if it was HDR.

At some point I imagine the task bar will burn in since it will get used 8 hours a day for my wfh job. The phones I've had with OLED displays have all burned in the status bars.
Monitor manufacturers will do just about anything to avoid OLED won't they? Gamers: "Can we please just have a 1440p 32" OLED Monitor, flat, with a glossy screen? Monitor Manufacturers: Nope, the best we can do is a 38" ultrawide monitor, curved ips panel, with an obnoxious matte screen. Gamers: Ok? That's not at all what I asked for. Monitor manufacturers: Too bad, suck my ass. Gamers: Well is it at least TRUE HDR? Is it FALD with plenty of local dimming zones? Monitor Manufacturers: Ummm, no but it's super "FAST". It's 360hz! Because all of you are obviously professional FPS gamers. Gamers: So why wouldn't I just buy an OLED TV? It's obviously the best image quality. I get unlimited contrast ratio, inky blacks, and absolutely no blooming. Unrivaled response times. That is why we're purchasing a monitor after-all, we want the best image. I use that when I'm visiting family and I use a 240hz VA panel when I'm at home and I gotta say - the IPS panel seems to be superior, even for gaming and definitely for working (My VA is Odyssey G7 27 1440p)
Once you go OLED....VA and IPS both look like crap@@dhLotan
@@drunkhusband6257 My console tv is a 77in OLED so I'm aware. I will get an OLED gaming monitor soon but I'm worried about burn-in more on a PC using OLED than a TV that I don't keep on the same channel basically ever. At some point I imagine the task bar will burn in since it will get used 8 hours a day for my wfh job. The phones I've had with OLED displays have all burned in the status bars.
All the newer oled monitors have screen shift and pixel refresh when you turn them off@@dhLotan
Fourth I guess? I've never been this early before.. From one UK boy to another, nice video.
This guy never reply’s to anyone. Just sad.
Pixel density is horrible…
If it’s not Oled then I don’t care
Not 4k not interested tbh..
Monitor Manufacturers: But ours have RGB and look like a space ship. That's cool right?
Glossy screen? U mad lad. Most curved screens are va not ips at all
glossy? which mindless creature would want glossy? Gipsy, india-n or other arabs only, which live in caves etc. Everything else is 100% true. Many-fcuk-tourers are like that, indeed.

Pc centric my your my favourite UA-camr and I want to start content creation and streaming so can you surely ship me out a pc for a video and give me tips because my dream is to become a big UA-camr like you
Why would you spent so much on a monitor when you can just buy a lg c2 42 inch, overall better quality for gaming and you can switch between watching TV. It’s plain and simple, monitors are dying out.
lg c2 42 inch cost $1,076 lol, the monitor in the video cost $449
@@RackifwThe guy in the video said it is £570 and lg c2 is £850 well worth the extra £270, you will never look back.
@@oz2451and the extra power you need to run games in 4k? 😂
@@googley98You get what you pay for.
@@oz2451 Who said you didn't? The reason a lot of people game at 1440p is that it can be a sweet spot if you don't want to constantly upgrade to play AAA games.
Ouch
still 1440? lmao no thanks
