Brings back memories Terry. We used to have an old fireplace range and my Mum used to do all the cooking on it. The huge fire was fabulous for toast and muffins. Incidentally the Sun Inn at Beamish used to stand at Fore Bondgate in Bishop Auckland and I remember as a young rookie cop watching them move the whole building onto special moving equipment. Happy days. Thanks for showing us round. Great video. Take care and stay safe. Cheers.👍👍👍
Class terry gr8 day out would recommend it 2 anyone we were there 2 weeks ago and grandson son loved it nice look back in time brought memories of my grand parents back mate 👍
Thanks for the memory refresher, such as working in Rookhope lead mine to my neighbours hut at the bottom of the garden with the racing pigeons. The added bonus was the sign post with my home town of Stanhope on it!
It’s a shame w couldn’t see it till the end but it was a great video. I’ve got relatives living in Birtley and Sunderland so we could pass the tickets on. The pit bungalows weee from Hetton-le-Hole rebuilt brick by brick. There were two pits in Hetton and all over the north east. All over Britain really. All gone now. Even though there’s plenty of coal down there Maggie closed them all down, smashed the communities and left thousands unemployed. It was the same with the Shipyards and the steel works. Anyway
I love Beamish Been there about 15 times summer times " winter times " & special event times All shops where you can purchase things are by contactless card I myself won't be going again until the 50s village is finished Because I've seen everything lol 😂🤣
When my dad was at school they had what the teacher used to call “stick sums” and if you got them wrong you would get the stick. That was back in the 50s.
I have the DORLING KINDERSLEY DK EYEWITNESS GUIDES Book of TRAIN. Discover the story of railways - from the days of steam to the high - speed, sophisticated trains of today. In association with THE NATIONAL RAILWAY MUSEUM.
I’ve been here a few times but it’s over 20 years since Last time. It’s changed a great deal. Do you think it’s worth the money if I only got there once in a year?

Hello Terry Good evening
Hello Craig
On some of the other videos of Beamish, I have seen a Local Policeman Constable out on his beat.
Even sometimes riding past on his bicycle.
Class mate
Thanks.
