The reason that “The Paper” is widely forgotten is because it’s actually “Valentine’s Day”’s sister episode, which as you would expect, is only ever really reran on Valentine’s Day, meaning that the episode is usually only played once a year
V day is also just a kinda weak episode, amongst the first 3 seasons I'd say it's probably my least favorite
That's really weird because I was thinking my forgotten episode would've been the Valentine's one, but I remember watching the paper one on multiple occasions

This is definitely the reason. It's one of my favorite episodes, but whenever I talk about to other people, they either didn't know it existed or barely remember it. I saw it a lot because of the old DVDs that included it. It wasn't until I saw it on TV and realized it was paired with the Valentine's episode that it explained why it had very little runtime. If anything, the Valentine's episodes was the one I hardly know out of the entire first 3 seasons so I can see it happening to the other side of that coin with The Paper
Valentine’s Day I rarely saw reruns. I saw it maybe three times before.
Early season Patrick always seemed more like a "Big Brother who leads you astray" archetype who was mostly just ignorant of how things really worked instead of just being a complete dummy. Generally Patrick plots would revolve around Spongebob encountering something, asking Patrick about it, and then Patrick confidently giving Spongebob completely incorrect information about it and Spongebob believing it wholeheartedly. The joke always seemed to be moreso about how gullible Spongebob was to completely believe Patrick without question rather than just the baseline of Patrick being dumb
Yeah I think the episode with Patrick's parents really ruined his character for me.
Patrick also was a prick in the Dark Age seasons when he really was rare for that to be the case

It's practically impossible to go wrong with Classic Spongebob. Maybe I'm biased, but the first movie is one of the greatest animated movies ever made.
Season 4 and beyond only go wrong

Season 5 too have some good too episode like: friend or foe, Roller cowards, le big switch, the battle of bikini Bottom, etc
Season 6 have some good episode (all episode good except with one with Squidward torture p0rn) like: not normal, gone, the Krabby kronikle, sand castle in the sand.
Seasons 7 have little good episode like growth spourt
I like the movie but as a Sheldon lover I didn’t like how flat out evil he was in the movie. It just felt a little out of character for him to try getting Mr Krabs killed and enslave all of Bikini Bottom-

"Red mist original frame" i was visiting my grandma and my younger cousins were over and i noticed spongebob was on, it was the newer episodes and the scene was spongebob and squidward were trapped in a room of no walls but just endless doors covering each wall. Squidward opens a door and receives a jump scare of "The Red Mist Frame" i lunged outta my chair and said, "its the meme! where it looks like dead squidward". this episode aired about a month ago but the frame lasted a second or 2, if anyone knows what episode im talking about see if u can find the frame
I remember when this episode first came out. It was night, around 8 or 9, and the tv in my room was on. The channel just so happened to be on nickelodeon with the episode "Spongebob In Randomland" playing. I was initially shocked to see red mist squidward behind one of the doors, but i thought the reference was really cool nonetheless.
I really wish Nickelodeon didn’t opt for the ‘Red Mist/Squidward’s Suicide’ reference to be taken out and replaced with Baby Squidward, I know Nickelodeon intends for SpongeBob nowadays to be a kids TV show instead of one for all ages back in the early seasons, which is something I don’t like about modern Nickelodeon, I get why Nick removed it, as Red Mist is a creepypasta that has implied suicidal themes (admittedly it’s a very bad creepypasta, as lost episode creepy pastas are generally pretty bad, as almost every single one has things in it that would realistically never be accepted by the show runners, I once wrote a lost episode creepypasta where SpongeBob takes his boating exam, and manages to get his drivers license, SpongeBob goes home, tells Gary he finally obtained his drivers license, and Mrs Puff celebrates not having to teach SpongeBob anymore), but I think that could be solved by removing the black ink-like substance around red mist frame Squidward’s eyes in the original version of ‘SpongeBob in Randomland’.
@@MKF543 Honestly, baby Squidward would've been fine if the Red Mist easter egg hadn't been there originally. It was such a nice call back to the earlier days of Spongebob media and the internet. However, I do understand why they removed it. (As you said, Red Mist is a pretty graphic creepypasta that's not exactly family friendly.)

So the story behind the just one bite deleted scene also goes back to another incident. Basically some kid watched this one Beavis and Butthead episode, and that caused him to burn his house down with his baby sister inside. That was either the inciting reason or the other reason as to the scene got cut

In defense of Mid Life Crustacean being scrubbed from streaming, As a kid I always thought it was gross that they stole Mr Krab’s moms underwear and that apparently SpongeBob and Patrick have stolen them multiple times. Always kinda left me with an uncomfortable feeling but it doesn’t mean that the episode was bad or deserves to be taken away. Just another perspective of the situation

i think the reason people see the leaf blower episode as the first one is because in the original season dvd sets, it’s the first episode that plays before even help wanted. pretty sure it was a short to play when there was extra time after a movie special and they needed to fill it with more than commercials.
Do the original season 1 dvd releases have help wanted? Because I have I think the newer one and from what I understand they couldn't get the rights from Tiny Tim's estate so it iust isn't there, but is played first in the first 100 episodes dvds

One weird Thing about the Episode in which Neptune works in the Krusty Krab at the End: for some Reason, at some Point it started always ending when the last Word of the Episode was only half finished, in the german Synchro. I remember it though always finishing the Word instead of cutting off so weirdly, when I was a Kid.
Also: not really classic Spongebob, but of the Episode in which SpongeBob builds that Stonehenge like Structure out of Statues to distract the Jellyfish, at least in the german Release, it only showed the first 1 or 2 Minutes of the Episode before abruptly ending. Not always, but often, causing it to be relatively rare back then to see the full Episode on TV

I’m not sure if this was mentioned or not but there’s also the story behind why SpongeBob’s name was changed from SpongeBoy. The most common rumor was that Nick’s legal department found out that SpongeBoy was the name of a mop. In reality, the name SpongeBoy was used for a brand of pencils.

You know, i sometimes wonder if the name Karen was picked to represent the "I want to speak to your manager" type ladies because of Plankton's wife. I doubt it but, it kind of fits. Maybe not in the sense of a pushy/bossy customer but because of her commentary on literally everything plankton does.
Also, idk about anyone else, but Band Geeks is my favorite first and formost because its one of the few times Squidward wins. He and his friends come together and ine up Squilliam immediately because they genuinely care about Squidward and want to help him, and he truly gets a good ending

Is it officially confirmed that the gasoline scene was removed because of the 9/11 attack or no? Because I think that scene was pretty reasonable to remove because you wouldn’t want kids to fuck around with gasoline. The thing about the panty raid scene too is that some higher executives in Nick probably just didn’t think it was appropriate and didn’t want kids recreating it. As to why there has been such a change you must keep in mind that Nickelodeon is owned by a company that has different people making the decisions all the time. SpongeBob is more of a purely children’s cartoon more than ever and it’s very clear, especially with the red mist reference getting cut. I felt like you could’ve tried to put more understanding into the potential reasoning behind these decisions.

SpongeBob Seasons 1-5: Pretty good, the occasional mediocre episodes. (4 and 5) .
SpongeBob seasons 6-9a: pretty bad, but has some decent episodes sometimes. But this was the low piont during those times.
SpongeBob seasons 9b-14: pretty decent and heck sometimes GOOD even l, most of the time!,very experimental, and very self aware sometimes.
SpongeBob Movie 1: 9/10. (Very good should of end here)
SpongeBob Movie 2: 7.8/10. (The SpongeBob Renaissance starts here, isn't perfect of course but better than the middle seasons.
SpongeBob Movie 3: 4.5/10
( pretty mediocre, ruses of a plot from a season 4 special, but the animation is good, though).
My all time favourite peace of lost media is a picture of SpongeBob say “dear Jesus please smite my enemies” (i dont like how it could be like mocking Jesus but i just like how out if context it is)
