The reason that “The Paper” is widely forgotten is because it’s actually “Valentine’s Day”’s sister episode, which as you would expect, is only ever really reran on Valentine’s Day, meaning that the episode is usually only played once a year
That's really weird because I was thinking my forgotten episode would've been the Valentine's one, but I remember watching the paper one on multiple occasions
This is definitely the reason. It's one of my favorite episodes, but whenever I talk about to other people, they either didn't know it existed or barely remember it. I saw it a lot because of the old DVDs that included it. It wasn't until I saw it on TV and realized it was paired with the Valentine's episode that it explained why it had very little runtime. If anything, the Valentine's episodes was the one I hardly know out of the entire first 3 seasons so I can see it happening to the other side of that coin with The Paper
Early season Patrick always seemed more like a "Big Brother who leads you astray" archetype who was mostly just ignorant of how things really worked instead of just being a complete dummy. Generally Patrick plots would revolve around Spongebob encountering something, asking Patrick about it, and then Patrick confidently giving Spongebob completely incorrect information about it and Spongebob believing it wholeheartedly. The joke always seemed to be moreso about how gullible Spongebob was to completely believe Patrick without question rather than just the baseline of Patrick being dumb
It's practically impossible to go wrong with Classic Spongebob. Maybe I'm biased, but the first movie is one of the greatest animated movies ever made.

"Red mist original frame" i was visiting my grandma and my younger cousins were over and i noticed spongebob was on, it was the newer episodes and the scene was spongebob and squidward were trapped in a room of no walls but just endless doors covering each wall. Squidward opens a door and receives a jump scare of "The Red Mist Frame" i lunged outta my chair and said, "its the meme! where it looks like dead squidward". this episode aired about a month ago but the frame lasted a second or 2, if anyone knows what episode im talking about see if u can find the frame
I remember when this episode first came out. It was night, around 8 or 9, and the tv in my room was on. The channel just so happened to be on nickelodeon with the episode "Spongebob In Randomland" playing. I was initially shocked to see red mist squidward behind one of the doors, but i thought the reference was really cool nonetheless.
I really wish Nickelodeon didn’t opt for the ‘Red Mist/Squidward’s Suicide’ reference to be taken out and replaced with Baby Squidward, I know Nickelodeon intends for SpongeBob nowadays to be a kids TV show instead of one for all ages back in the early seasons, which is something I don’t like about modern Nickelodeon, I get why Nick removed it, as Red Mist is a creepypasta that has implied suicidal themes (admittedly it’s a very bad creepypasta, as lost episode creepy pastas are generally pretty bad, as almost every single one has things in it that would realistically never be accepted by the show runners, I once wrote a lost episode creepypasta where SpongeBob takes his boating exam, and manages to get his drivers license, SpongeBob goes home, tells Gary he finally obtained his drivers license, and Mrs Puff celebrates not having to teach SpongeBob anymore), but I think that could be solved by removing the black ink-like substance around red mist frame Squidward’s eyes in the original version of ‘SpongeBob in Randomland’.
@@MKF543 Honestly, baby Squidward would've been fine if the Red Mist easter egg hadn't been there originally. It was such a nice call back to the earlier days of Spongebob media and the internet. However, I do understand why they removed it. (As you said, Red Mist is a pretty graphic creepypasta that's not exactly family friendly.)
Considering a scrapbook of NSFW SpongeBob images made by the actual storyboard artists has been unearthed, I feel like the uncensored scripts of Sailor Mouth probably can be made public

So the story behind the just one bite deleted scene also goes back to another incident. Basically some kid watched this one Beavis and Butthead episode, and that caused him to burn his house down with his baby sister inside. That was either the inciting reason or the other reason as to the scene got cut
Ayyy Another iceberg video!!!!! I've been really a huge fan of icebergs lately and I love how each creator varies on the style or approach to explain the Iceberg, this is definitely no different
i think the reason people see the leaf blower episode as the first one is because in the original season dvd sets, it’s the first episode that plays before even help wanted. pretty sure it was a short to play when there was extra time after a movie special and they needed to fill it with more than commercials.
Do the original season 1 dvd releases have help wanted? Because I have I think the newer one and from what I understand they couldn't get the rights from Tiny Tim's estate so it iust isn't there, but is played first in the first 100 episodes dvds
Ive heard Reef Blower was only made as filler to fill the last few minutes of the first episode as Help Wanted was around 7 or 8 minutes and Tea At The Treedome was 11 so they needed to fill those last few minutes and thus made Reef Blower (this is also the reason it has no voice acting as it would've been too expensive for what was essentially filler
46:23 dude SAME. that's actually the only episode from like the first 5 seasons that I never once saw on TV, and I watched this show ALL THE TIME. It was literally my favorite show lol. The thing is, when I was a kid I rented a SpongeBob DVD with a bunch of random episodes on it and Scaredy Pants was one of them, so I did see that one a few times. Here's the weird part though: that DVD didn't include the companion episode "I was a Teenage Gary", so I didn't even know it existed until I revisited the first three seasons years ago on streaming. I always thought I had seen every episode so many times that I could quote every line, so watching that episode for the first time and slowly realizing that I didnt remember anything about it was honestly really freaky to me. it was like finding out I had a twin brother that my parents kept a secret from me my whole life lol. At least it was an episode that seems to be regarded as the worst episode of season 1, so I guess I didn't miss out on much. I think part of the reason I didn't know it existed is because it rarely gets talked about or referenced anyway because it's just not that funny or memorable. Glad I got to see Scaredy Pants though, that would've been a bummer to miss out on, love that episode
37:30 Stephen Hillenberg basically confirmed this theory in an old spongebob dvd behind the scenes extra, he said theres "some kind of relation there" when he was talking about bikini atol specifically. I cant remember what he said exactly but all you have to do is look up "spongebob behind the scenes" and youll find it.
27:51 For the canal 5 release, they would play the different version of the episode back to back, so you would see that same episode 3 times. I remember back when it was airing that I'd feel like I was going crazy when they would play the "same episode" that many times 😂
I enjoyed this video, even if I knew every entry, but I noticed a few entries lacking, mostly towards the start, so I decided to write up somethings I feel like were left out or should had been expanded on 7:32 Incidental 6/ "Chocolate Guy"'s real name is Tom, and recently his chocolate addiction was brought back up in the game "The Cosmic Shake" again under the name of Tom. 8:28 You briefly bring it up, but Bubble Bass' order is made up of actual Restaurant Slang, an example being "On a raft" means Texas toast and "Animal Style" is Mustard. 8:44 His name is Painty The Pirate, and a DVD bonus is what confirmed his lips to be of Stephen Hillenburg. 11:55 His name was always Fred, there is a Production image with Incidentals that says "We call him Fred", he was also called by his name in the episode Patty Hype, along with Tom. 12:36 Its the first episode on the Season 1 box set, and the reason there is no voice acting is because this was made to pad out Help Wanted's run time, but would had cost too much to pay the voice actors again. 14:47 Fun fact, Incidental 70 only shows up in Seasons 1 and 2, and went missing for 20 years. He finally made his return as an Incidental in the Patrick Star Show after fans asked to see the return of Incidental 70. 16:53 This is later confirmed 100% canon, as Prawn shows up in Season 13 episode "Captain Pipsqueak" where he is seen reciting his opening dialog from BFBB. 17:42 According to William Reiss (Storyboard Artist and Writer for the episode) on a DVD commentary, 6000 trophies come out of SpongeBob's closet. 21:14 Interesting thing to note, Nosferatu was the name of the film, but not the character, in the movie his name is Count Orlok, but I guess for simplicity he's named Nosferatu in the SpongeBob universe. 22:20 The REAL reason is Movie Neptune was made to look like his new voice actor, Jeffrey Tambor, but for legal reasons they could not use the new design in the show when it continued, so they went back to the old one. While they were most likely meant to be the same character at first, the 20 Year Anniversary Poster shows both Neptunes meeting. A fan theory I like is that while Series Neptune is the actual God, Movie Neptune is just a King named after the God, as he has no real powers, all his powers come from his trident. 23:24 His name is actually Primitive Sponge, and he technically isn't a Caveman, unlike SpongeGar who is.
One weird Thing about the Episode in which Neptune works in the Krusty Krab at the End: for some Reason, at some Point it started always ending when the last Word of the Episode was only half finished, in the german Synchro. I remember it though always finishing the Word instead of cutting off so weirdly, when I was a Kid. Also: not really classic Spongebob, but of the Episode in which SpongeBob builds that Stonehenge like Structure out of Statues to distract the Jellyfish, at least in the german Release, it only showed the first 1 or 2 Minutes of the Episode before abruptly ending. Not always, but often, causing it to be relatively rare back then to see the full Episode on TV
My mom had a streaming box that had media from brazil that had the pantie ending in Portuguese, I still have the box, but the episode was probably removed. idk, I was 5 or 6 at the time I can remember, but I had very bad memory so it might not be there at all.
Was there a pilot episode to night light Idk why but I used to remember this one episode which included SpongeBob leaving the krusty krab and some others stuff but there was this one scene where a door opens and fog came out and a face like the one from the night light episode and SpongeBob gets scared and he goes back to the krusty krab Is it just me or am I crazy?
Dude, I remember having a DVD or VHS of the secret box episode where after the episode ended, one of those painting-quality cutscenes popped up showing the christmas photo that patrick was holding above the box. It showed the christmas photo.
Bro… I clearly remember when Patrick woke up finding SpongeBob breaking in I remember that SpongeBob parents came in and gave SpongeBob a lecture about breaking in
Allegedly the reason the footage of the racecar crashing was cut because the driver died, so early versions of "Procrastination" unintentionally showed footage of a guy dying when that clip is shown.
You know, i sometimes wonder if the name Karen was picked to represent the "I want to speak to your manager" type ladies because of Plankton's wife. I doubt it but, it kind of fits. Maybe not in the sense of a pushy/bossy customer but because of her commentary on literally everything plankton does. Also, idk about anyone else, but Band Geeks is my favorite first and formost because its one of the few times Squidward wins. He and his friends come together and ine up Squilliam immediately because they genuinely care about Squidward and want to help him, and he truly gets a good ending
Yeah, when he does sml he just seems bored and cynical and seems like he's only doing it for views. But with this video he seemed genuinely excited to cover it, he should really just do videos on stuff that makes him happy like with this and not just make videos out of a obligation like his sml videos.
hearing that "the paper" was considered forgotten actually shocked me because in hungary(my homecountry) one of the most famous voice-over parody's on that side of the internet CAME from that episode, everyone i knew back in the day had seen it. the link is what i THINK is the original upload of the video, but it might date back even further: ua-cam.com/video/qn9AhtUDflk/v-deo.html
I’m not sure if this was mentioned or not but there’s also the story behind why SpongeBob’s name was changed from SpongeBoy. The most common rumor was that Nick’s legal department found out that SpongeBoy was the name of a mop. In reality, the name SpongeBoy was used for a brand of pencils.
Is it officially confirmed that the gasoline scene was removed because of the 9/11 attack or no? Because I think that scene was pretty reasonable to remove because you wouldn’t want kids to fuck around with gasoline. The thing about the panty raid scene too is that some higher executives in Nick probably just didn’t think it was appropriate and didn’t want kids recreating it. As to why there has been such a change you must keep in mind that Nickelodeon is owned by a company that has different people making the decisions all the time. SpongeBob is more of a purely children’s cartoon more than ever and it’s very clear, especially with the red mist reference getting cut. I felt like you could’ve tried to put more understanding into the potential reasoning behind these decisions.
The reason that “The Paper” is widely forgotten is because it’s actually “Valentine’s Day”’s sister episode, which as you would expect, is only ever really reran on Valentine’s Day, meaning that the episode is usually only played once a year

My mom had a streaming box that had media from brazil that had the pantie ending in Portuguese, I still have the box, but the episode was probably removed. idk, I was 5 or 6 at the time I can remember, but I had very bad memory so it might not be there at all.
Great iceberg video! This deserves more attention
Was there a pilot episode to night light
Idk why but I used to remember this one episode which included SpongeBob leaving the krusty krab and some others stuff but there was this one scene where a door opens and fog came out and a face like the one from the night light episode and SpongeBob gets scared and he goes back to the krusty krab
Is it just me or am I crazy?
Dude, I remember having a DVD or VHS of the secret box episode where after the episode ended, one of those painting-quality cutscenes popped up showing the christmas photo that patrick was holding above the box. It showed the christmas photo.
Bro… I clearly remember when Patrick woke up finding SpongeBob breaking in I remember that SpongeBob parents came in and gave SpongeBob a lecture about breaking in
This is peak bro
Allegedly the reason the footage of the racecar crashing was cut because the driver died, so early versions of "Procrastination" unintentionally showed footage of a guy dying when that clip is shown.
Scaredy pants got re runs for sure i remember watching them growing up. I never saw the valentines episode tho until i ran across it on the internet
Sonic '06 music in the background? A man of culture I see
This is a really great video👍
Holy shit this was an hour, time just flew by. Great iceberg! It was interesting hear you share the lore behind the show!!
Personally I'd group Season 4 with Seasons 1-3. And that probably was the best end for the show since afterwards is when stuff really got worse
Personally I think if season 4 is grouped in, season 5 goes too. Season 6 is when the show dropped the ball completely
I have a dvd of the season mid life crustacean AND all these scenes actually, very fortunate ❤
I have a SpongeBob theory... I believe the cyclops from the SpongeBob movie killed Mr. Puff and turned him into a lamp.
39:06 is that undertale music or a hat in time music?
Its MF DOOM, Rapp snitch knishes
Commenting again to say that i live how the dubs of the pizza song are like at least 70% OHHH YAAAAA PIZZAAAA PIZZA YAAYAA OHHH PIZZA YAA XD
48:32 “it only sings for you squidward”
I really do wish Patrick was still made as a silly but relatively intelligent character. It’s makes him more funny in my opinion
I’m watching this as if I don’t already know all this
You know, i sometimes wonder if the name Karen was picked to represent the "I want to speak to your manager" type ladies because of Plankton's wife.
You must be pretty young to not remember when the just one bite scene was still on TV
Keep doing these, way better then sml crap
Yeah, when he does sml he just seems bored and cynical and seems like he's only doing it for views. But with this video he seemed genuinely excited to cover it, he should really just do videos on stuff that makes him happy like with this and not just make videos out of a obligation like his sml videos.
OK The MARIO Image HAS to be Kyo from Dir en grey
Thats what I thought too lol
😂 I love that you can buy Bold and Brash. Might buy the Painting when I finally have a Apartment 🙃
incredibly disappointed you didn't feature the german krusty krab pizza segment
hearing that "the paper" was considered forgotten actually shocked me
because in hungary(my homecountry) one of the most famous voice-over parody's on that side of the internet CAME from that episode, everyone i knew back in the day had seen it.
the link is what i THINK is the original upload of the video, but it might date back even further:

Ngl Sml is horrible now, and I really love how much more energitic with this than sml.
8:01 I love this lil gag
I had a scaryd pants dvd
As a dutch person, i do not remember the crusty crab pizza song sounding like that, or spongebobs va at all
Why does bro sound like „🤓☝️“ 😭😭😭
1:07:39 Uh.... Who Is... Joe.....?
Joe mama
Search we gotta get spongebob back
@@MatthiasCCreek woah
40:01 omg is that a Vinny Vinesauce reference
I’m not sure if this was mentioned or not but there’s also the story behind why SpongeBob’s name was changed from SpongeBoy. The most common rumor was that Nick’s legal department found out that SpongeBoy was the name of a mop. In reality, the name SpongeBoy was used for a brand of pencils.
Why is Spongebob's Czech voice actor so deep sounding?
Fine I’ll rewatch the first 3 seasons again
This better blow up
28:34 okay mr. High maintenance
Thank god u didnt explain an iceberg list. EVERY GODDAMN VIDEO explains it as if they arent the billionth video doing it
Your voice matches your profile picture perfectly
Can you do the SpongeBob movie iceberg
SpongeBob was the bay harbor butcher all along
Customer actually appears in a season 12 episode
Krusty Krabbyyy pizza for you and MEEEEE HEEE!!!
19:54 i can speak lithuanian and this is funny ☠️
I always found it funny how Mid-life Crustacean got banned for the panty raid yet every other show will show bare ass
IF UR NOT TALKING LIKE THAT ON PURPOSE YOU SOUND LIKE SQUIDWARD(IN A GOOD WAY OFC I LOVE SPONGEBOB)
any seasons after season 4 wasn't the best.
Nothing can ever replace the pure joy and whimsy of watching og spongebob as a kid
You sound like SpongeBob’s eccentric cousin
mid life is also on the dvds
47:09 HES JUST AN ORANGE TOM SMITH
38:11 the houses are mufflers
