Not the UN to be blamed, but the allied forces after world war 2. They abolished Prussia and almost the existence of Germany itself. Though tried they may have, its existence will always be present and in the hearts of any Germanic culture.

@SpiritBearTotem Kant, Hegel, and Leibniz were significant cultural contributors. Martin Luther was also a decent contribution.

Reading the comments here reminds me why I always hated addressing essay questions, even though I loved investigating historical things generally. They always required you to identify and weigh the prior factors that influenced a later phenomenon, but then to naively interpret one prior factor as a causatory "thing in itself" that sprang from nowhere, with no etiology of its own, exercising some innate drive inbued with distinct moralistic qualities.

I've just started learning German's Low Prussian Dialect. It has many differences and similarities. And its tons of fun to learn. While Standard German goes, Das ist gut. Prussian would be, Das oss goet. Do ya'll see the difference? It's incredible.

The Austrian Empire who dominated the Holy Roman Empire would not allow another king in the Holy Roman Empire The Elector of Brandenburg had to call himself the King in Prussia, his duchy outside of the Holy Roman Empire. The Kingdom was later called Brandenburg-Prussia, though.

@wachaufeuropa most of the nazi symbols were not even german in origin.. the eagle banners were coppied from roman standards and the swastika was stolen from budhism. when in the 1930s german mystics went to tibet to try and find the origin of the Aryan race they encountered people using the swastika and thought they in turn had copied it from a far more ancient 'white' race of super beings.
the prussian iron cross was kept ofcourse because of the military tradition in place at the time.

Prussia isn´t Germany,if something Germany is Prussia.
    Prussians were originally baltic,not germanic.

  • @IvarDaigon
    @IvarDaigon 14 років тому

@wachaufeuropa look at pictures of the roman eagle in contrast to the prussian eagle.. then look at nazi eagles you can clearly see that they nazi eagles are based on the roman ones.
Swaztika does appear as a religious symbol all over the world in pre-christian societies including greece and germania but it is not a rune. the word Swaztika comes from the ancient sankrit svástika if it were a germanic symbol it would be called something from a germanic root word not a sanskrit one.

Prussia heavily forested area before arrival of Germanics was Baltic too. Population was germanized.

@steveforsane You are wrong. Hitler developed his ideas when he was in Vienna. The NSDAP movement was formed in Bavaria, in Munich, the so called "capital of the movement." - Bavaria is culturally connected to Austria. Whereas Prussia during the Weimar Republic was the only German federal state with a stable democratic government (SPD). Some authors say that, after the unification, Austrians were the most fanatic Nazis. Hitler hated Berlin.

@unfukkkmee well, Prussia is the best counterproof I can give you! Frederick the Great established a social school system, as the first king of Europe. Frederick gave Jews equality also as the first king of Europe.
BTW: The only "Babaric" German Empire (lasted from 1933 to 1945 and was called 3rd Reich) used Greek architecture mixed with Germanic and Hinduist symbolism
Hail to Germany, supreme power of Europe, economic powerhouse of Europe and future leader of a common European federation!

  • @IvarDaigon

@wachaufeuropa I think your confused.. germany and prussia are not the same thing.. never have been and never will be.
sure over the past few hundred years prussian leaders have dominated german confederation but that doesn't mean the 3 reichs were prussian.
hitlers ideas and designs for empire go back to the holy roman empire. which was in fact a frankish kingdom. ie proto french pretending to carry on the legacy of rome. dont forget that germany was never conquered by rome nor romanized.

@wachaufeuropa the nazis believed that sanskrit the native language of the aryan people was the language of an atlantean style nordic master race which lived on a continent in the north sea.. this is what the thule society believed... the progenitors of nazi mysticism.
they took their ideas directly from indian mysticism which was envogue in germany during the 1800s. the words aryan and swastika are both sanskrit in origin not celtic or gothic.

I blame Great Britan for ww1 and ww2. They wanted a strong prussia as a shield against France. The result was that prussia started to attack its neighbours who was weaker and didnt stand a equal chance. While the smaller nations was in war with this powerfull country, Great britan did nothing. Then prussia grew even bigger, and united all of Germany, making them a new powerhungry superpower.

powerhungry? germany was giving her colonies away in exchange for peace offers which britain refused. helped france with her colonies. sponsored independence movements. and kept peace in europe by stopping AH and russia from fighting each other.
they were turning powerful because of superior industry, peace was what they needed, not war. war is what Britain, France and Russia needed if they wanted to not get absorbed by Germany's mightier economy

after WW1 prussia was removed from the seat of power over the other germanic stats in 1919 during the creation of the weimar republic.
'Prussia as a state was abolished de facto by the Nazis in 1934'
they removed the government and gave Hermann Göring control of the prussian territory. Prussia as a nation state officially ceased to exist in that year. So your notion that america destroyed prussia is completely false.

  • @Exodon2020

@unfukkkmee But anyway: i think the main reason why your country didn't get as much reparations as the others was the Civil war and I was born into the 3rd Generation after WW2, I'm not willing to pay for crimes committed by a low amount of my ancestors... (I did some research: none of them were NS-party members nor were they SS-members)
