This is a EXCELENT clip. The depiction of 'Der Alter Fritz" (Frederick the Great) is marvelous and is clearly based on contemporary descriptions of him

Very clever display showing Friedrich Der Grosse composing the 1741 March. I think Frederick goes down in history more for his many classical concertos that he composed with Jocheim Qauntz in his years at Sans Succi. The Prussian military band of Frederick's day was not considered as advanced as contemporary French or Austrian military bands were. Prussian bands were quite basic until the advent of the 19th century when their instrumentation was increased. Still, great to see alte Fritz!

Das nenne ich Militärmusik! Ein Hoch und gut Spiel auf alle HMK 1er!!!
Die spielen richtig gut. Schade dass sie nich neben den barocken Uniformen auch die dazu passenden Instrumente spielen. Sowohl die Flöten als auch die Trompeten waren zur Zeit Friedrich II ganz anders gebaut und haben auch ziemlich anders geklungen.
Das Heeresmusikkorps I aus Hannover ist eine Klasse für sich! Die besten! Gegen dieses Musikkorps ist sogar besser wie das aus Berlin vom Verteidigungsministerium!

You're wrong in one point: The Luftwaffe wears blue uniforms.
There has been a lot of arguing going on about whether we should re-introduce some parts of historic uniforms (Sabres, for example). Imagine the shitloads of money that we would need to spend for that. I think that money is better invested in protected vehicles.
