A year and a half later and B2W2 is finally finished, it has a very rushed ending and didn't do the original BW's justice and overall wasn't really worth the 7 years of waiting. But all in all, it's a good thing that the author can now fully focus on SWSH and return to the normal releasing schedule. XY and SM were some of the best arcs in my opinion so I'm thrilled to see whaf gen 8 has in store -and the sinnoh remake arc we all know it's coming-
I was reading since chapter 1 came out i was REAAAAALY disappointed with the ending of the manga. Really wished it wasn't rushed cause the story was so good until then

you're the only person I've ever seen to dismiss Frlg and praise Oras (also, from what I've heard, kusaka said he doesn't like writing remake arcs, which is most likely the root of their issues and maybe also why we haven't gotten an LGPE arc yet)

@@Swampert444 my problem with ORAS was that it was too rushed, and some of the characters Red and Green were just waisted. Especially Red with Deoxys
I disagree that LGFR are the worst arc but they do feel the it’s the most out of place compared to all other arcs. There is something off about that arc that doesn’t feel like Pokémon Adventures, it didnt have a lot of material to work off of and because of that Kusaka had a ton of wiggle room to tell a story.
Now i wish for more video like these about the pokemon adventure manga since it not really talk about a lot
This was My first video I watched from you and honestly hooked. This video really delivered and it honestly gave me a answer on why there's barely any pokespe content other then it is underrated-even tho I feel like it only became underrated when BW came around-Tho still kinda wish their was more cause poketuber pretty much dying. ok its really only dying on the anipoke side with copy right but game poketube all feels the same. Every fact has been covered at this point. So maybe this video will make more people cover pokespe. Bbbuuuttt it could end up like game poketube oof. Needless to say great video overall.
That switching between tones and dynamics is something hxh dabbles in for JUUUUST the right amount of spice

It truly is a shame that BW2 were delayed for so long. I'm glad it's updating still, especially with the latest update. I'm hopeful we'll eventually reach the end of the generation 5 manga.
It in 2021 ends. The black 2 white 2 are getting publishing in may I hear. Or June.

@@jfricci807 Funnily enough, no. They delayed BW2 (finished it last year), but continued to the next region every new generation. The manga has declined in quality since BW2's ending, with pacing and rushed storylines being forced on them with how quickly games have been coming out the past 8 years.
We're currently in the Sword and Shield arc.

A few years later and now PokeSpe is again up to date, only one arc running (Sword/Shield). Though as a result XY, Sun/Moon and Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire all have 30-something chapters instead of the usual ~60.
That said arcs like Yellow and Emerald were also short and worked. I'm reading with the English volumes so I'm at the start of XY, no idea how anything turns out from here on, but I trust Hidenori Kusaka enough to deliver quality Pokémon content (which is so rare to come across).
With Gen 9 on the horizon, and the titles of the Sword and Shield chapters I've seen from Japanese listings citing events near the end of the game (like Eternatus being awakened) it doesn't seem like this arc will overlap with the next one. The mangaka probably wants to avoid another situation like B2W2 (and that happened before too, Fr/Lg, Emerald and Diamond/Pearl all running at the same time).
About that problem with the FireRed/LeafGreen manga series you just described, it almost felt like the same thing happened with Digimon Tri, even though it’s a movie series. I felt that the 01 cast’s journey is complete and doesn’t need to continue further than that of the 02 season. Unfortunately, when they did try to continue the 01 cast’s journey when they were almost adults with new characters and arcs, the story ends up being an overcomplicated mess with subplots and ideas left unanswered and poorly explored, everything being unnecessarily dark and edgy, and a bunch more that I’m not going to mention because Tri is just full of problems that killed it and less people are talking about it. And wouldn’t you know it, there’s going to be a movie coming soon about the 01 cast again when they are fully adults. So take that what you will.

I think abut this PokeSpe is doing very well than Digimon Tri. It took the previous story instead of a completely different story (this is what Kusaka always does).

I feel like a lot of the problems with adventures could be solved with characters appearing more in later arcs after their debut like how Blue (or Green depending on what translation you're reading) was in XY iirc. They don't have to get a ton of focus, the spotlight still has to be on the new characters after all, but just appearing in some capacity other than a one-panel cameo would be nice. I also don't like how HGSS and ORAS take place before DP. With HGSS they at least connected some elements to DP but ORAS's placement is just weird to me. I Think HGSS and ORAS, and honestly even FRLG would have been great opportunities for the older dex holders to meet their successors. I haven't read XY in a while but I remember feeling like X's character arc was incomplete for some reason, and if he appeared in ORAS it could have solved that. The B2W2 hiatus seems to have affected later arcs as well, since USUM was just awkwardly combined with SM instead of having its own arc; I'm not caught up on SWSH but I've heard that DLC content will just be condensed into like 5 chapters; there was no Let's Go arc, and it's looking like there won't even be a BDSP arc, let alone a Legends Arceus arc, so the Sinnoh trio probably won't be appearing any time soon. There's no longer enough time to cover every game in a generation, so at least the characters that would have appeared in those arcs could appear in whatever arc is currently running at the time. But even then, they still might not have enough time for anything beyond a simple team-up battle (though that's still better than nothing).

I first got into this Manga when I bought the Red and Yellow compilation volumes from a book store when I was kid. I'd love to reread those countless times, even though I was only getting a few chunks of bigger stories and a few years later I eventually read both arcs in full and have a ton of nostalgia for both! But lately I've been wanting to start from the beginning again but truly go through every arc, just not sure if I should read past ORAS because I haven't heard many opinions on the series past that point or even really any opinions on the BW2 or XY arcs for that matter

Hunter X Hunter, because we don't know when it will end, but we know that B2W2 will end finally. (Although B2W2 has become a famous turning point hiatus of PokeSpe.)

Maybe if I reread the series I would feel differently but I always thought bw was the worst one (not i haven't finished x and y yet or anything past it). Now this may have to do with the fact that I've read all of the manga in boxsets at the same time so I don't really seperate things like r&b and yellow in my mind but still it's been the least enjoyable for me so far
I also definitely think the game releases are a detriment to the manga. It forces them to have extreamly abrupt endings as they try and force all the legendaries to make their cameos. It would work better if pokemon was on a slightly better release schedule but it's almost annual release schedule. Let's hope swsh dlc method helps benifit the end of the story arcs from this point on and that we eventually get an anime adaptation that helps out the end of the previous arcs.

From 1-29, the series has always mentioned people from other generations (ok maybe not so much of 15-22) but makes a comeback in 29. Throughout theres a timeline which matches really well.
BW does not have that "Easter egg" but the villian is freaking scary.

nice video if what you said is all true with the hiatuses for black and white 2 it would make a lot of sense especially if you look at the sun and moon manga as its being written with the knowledge of the games coming out fast now because sun and moon and ultra sun and moon is one long story and not two different ones

I want to say your argument is kinda flawed towards end? You think it’s a double edged sword because it causes the author to have a horrible schedule, but keeps the story fresh, wouldn’t it be better for the author to have his own pace? It worked out for jojo ? And the current structure created Fr/lg which you didn’t like ?

Did not know there was any sort of controversy at all, and I can't really imagine what it would be. She's a good character with a really fascinating struggle to go through in regards to her relationship with her Pokemon., and it makes her really interesting to follow.
It was small enough for many to not care but a lot felt that Hilda's character design gave off a real tomboy/wild girl kind of vibe rather than a girly girl who hardly picked up a Poke Ball before meeting Black. It was pretty silly.

Are the FRLG chapters backwards?
Earlier versions of Viz's localization flipped it to read left to right like western books do, so some of the scans come from that.
The original 14 volumes are the best
