Heard this great harp tune being played on all possible and impossible instruments - but this is the first time I hear it on a mandocello! It sounds absolutely lovely!
Yes it has round back. I’m guessing Ovation made a limited number of these using guitar bodies and possibly necks too. It plays beautifully, sounds quite good and intonates unbelievably even at super high frets. I bought it in the late 1990s.
Hey Mr. Reid, these are really pretty arrangements. I’ve just started learning mandolin and am looking for repertoire to work on. Is there any way I’d be able to learn your arrangements? e.g. sheet music, tabs, etc.
@@bunkerman99 It's about the sound and the tuning. I also play a Gold Tone mandocello and enjoy the deeper sound from the cello background. It's a little different sound than any guitar I've ever heard.
Harvey is a great player, and I love Mandocello

This is beautiful music. Thank you for sharing with us.

Yes they are super rare. After looking almost 4 years I finally found one and have been playing it now for about 5 years.
In Bflat as played?

God do I hate the sound of Ovations. Nice tune and playing Harvey...
That's not a mandocello, but a guitar with 8 strings !
Ovation made mandocellos on their Elite bodies years ago. I’m kicking myself for not picking one up!
This is a mandocello. No doubt,
