I think that of all the bosses in this trilogy, Buzz has the biggest intimidation factor for a few reasons. 1. He's the first boss you face in Spyro 3, but at no point will Spyro's attacks be able to directly damage him. In fact, Spyro's fire breath has no effect on him at all, and Buzz's charge attack will launch the player much further than Spyro's charge can launch Buzz. 2. If you don't react to getting hit swiftly, Buzz can easily combo to stack up the damage and throw you into the lava. If you're hit close enough to the edge, you sometimes will hit the lava twice on your way back to the arena. 3. Buzz pulls new strategies out of nowhere 3 TIMES in his fight. The first is when you first hit him. Most players, on their first fight with him, will stand by the edge and watch Sheila stomp on him. He immediately punishes this by literally steamrolling over Spyro, then rolling to a safe distance. He'll almost always be able to get a charge attack in afterwards as well. The second is when he enters his second phase. By that point, the player will have fallen into a false sense of security that by simply charging him repeatedly, they're relatively safe. He AGAIN punishes this with his random fire barrier. Which he mocks you from behind, and will always charge out of. The third is when he enters his third phase. The player is likely suspecting another trick, so his new attack starts out looking just like the flame barrier. However, while the flame barrier is countered by just waiting, he almost immediately dissipates the barrier and proceeds to sneeze fire in a rather large cone. This is probably the only instance of a feint that I've ever seen in a boss from this era. For a first boss, this is pretty complex and unpredictable. 4. His boss arena appears quite...hellish. All that being said, I still hold up Gulp, Ripto, Buzz, Spike, and Scorch as examples of how a good boss battle can be done. Although I will admit that I'm not a fan of how easily Ripto can be cheesed in his first phase by just spraying fire all over him, his second and third phases make up for it. Both Sorceress fights both fell flat to me (especially the second one, since it's essentially Ripto's third phase if Ripto was faster, but less aggressive), and all the bosses before Gulp were dealt with by attacking them with normal attacks. And none of those 5 I mentioned can be beaten by the strategy that deals with most modern bosses easily: "just poke them in the butt" Boss fights have lost something for me since these days...
Thesaurus Rex Yeah that boss scared me as a kid, but so did all of Spyro 3's bosses haha. Looking back at it, that music really is intense and his fierce design is still creepy along with his movements.
My goodness. The soundtrack and location are very unfitting of a first boss fight. That's not to say a first boss can't be intimidating, but that music and scenery is something one might expect to see and hear from a boss battle towards the end of the game, rather than the first one. Also, WHERE THE F**K BETWEEN A PLACE CALLED SUNRISE SPRING AND A PLACE CALLED MIDDAY GARDEN DO YOU FIND A SEA OF LAVA CONTAINING THE ACTUAL GATES OF HELL?!?!
We all wish for a world like spyros with dragons and magic. We are sentient mammals us humans. Dragons which quite possibly existed (but I'm not sure) were sentient reptiles. We want to have a companion species but they were murded due to the evil of our ancestors. Maybe at one time the world was like spyros world. A magical place which God intended. But it's all gone now. If there is s heaven that's what it's like. I think we all wish for this inside, but due to our species evils we can never have it. That is the reason why we feel such nostalgic for things that either did not exist or were destroyed. I'd give anything to live in a better world with nature and dragons. I hope you get to heaven because I know I'm not going to. I hope you don't have to suffer my fate. But I understand completely...
I think there might have been time/engine constraints that prevented true boss fight mechanics. If you think about it the "bosses" were programmed no differently than regular enemies besides the fact that they ran away and you had to hit them multiple times.
oh man, just hearing the music for the boss fights brings back so many memories. Sigh, this was a pleasant blast from the past. I recently played Spyro 1 on a PS1 emulator and while it was very fun, I realized that apparently the controls are not easy to remaster after playing on current consoles for so long. So I got the 'deja vu' without the pain - thanks!
Ripto suffers one of the most gruesome fates. Even when I was playing as a kid, I thought dying in lava was pretty brutal. Plus he has the best fighting music. What's strange is that he came back in a sequel. It's like you thought you destroyed the terminator for good, but he just keeps coming back.
I know, but Ripto was the first villain to die in lava, so it had the most impact on me. I also feel bad for the Earthshapers you had to push into lava back in Fracture Hills.
+DramakilzU Ripto lives, he is a lava lizard dino, the kind you fight in the caveman stage, they're immune to lava, he comes back in enter the dragonfly, season of flame, attack of the rhynocs
***** well it's universal studios' fault for giving the project to new developers just out of school who haven't made a game before and then bum rushing them for christmas
Enjoyed watching this. You played with speed but also kept the keen awareness that a real fan would have about the game. Those little near falls and all remind me so much of myself and my fast paced style
Morten Pedersen yeah the noises he made and then when he came rolling at you and he would literally be shaving the scales off of spyros ass sure gave me goosebumps lol
I swear, the dog enemies in Toasty’s level still freak me out a little. Getting attacked by a bush later in the game didn’t scare me, but a big ass dog that took 2 hits to kill scared the shit outta me.
What about Bluto? And That wizard in Spooky Swamp? And the chinease dragons in Fireworks Factory? They count as bosses too! Also there was a planned boss fight in Dino Mines, But was hidden in Agent 9's level in the jail.
Tell me, what do you the fight in Dino Mines would have been. I always had theories. - Bailey Gang Gauntlet - Spyro on a Regular Bull Vs. Red Skill Point Dino on a Mechanical Bull - A Shootout which would have had a combination of the two But all would have involved the Superflame Powerup or Re-Use Bentley’s Ammunition in Scorch’s Pit
The games which carried my childhood: Rayman, Spyro and Crash Bandicoot ! Buzz's music is such incredible ! Remember me so much nostalgia with my brother ;(
These are some good tips... let me see.... Crush: Blue means jump, Red means charge, flame him to cause the rockslide, time the blue and red just right, run away from him when he has 3 HP left. Blue for first 2 HP, Red for next 2 HP, both with 3 HP left Buzz: Always charge him where he is closest to the lava, when run along the edges when he rolls after you, don't charge with a ring of fire, able to charge when he blows it Spike: Punches you when close, shoots from afar, shoots twice when using rocks, shoots three time when using red magic, shoots 4 times when using blue magic, watch out for flames from the ground, charge away when he uses blue magic, jump over when he uses red magic, watch his shots carefully and dodge them quickly Scorch: Watch the shadows of his laser shots to see where they'll land, rings around him are a protective safeguard, green rockets last once, red rockets have 50 rapid-fire, uses eggs for foes (First crabs, then TNT yetis, then fire trolls, finally Buzz), yetis and trolls will try to explode near you so make them explode away from you, attack crabs like always, defeat Buzz by shoving him into the ooze or using rockets, use rockets wisely and not when Scorch uses his safe-guard Sorceress (I): Dodge her flame-balls, don't let her swat you with her wand, uses laser shots that vary from 1 to 3 to several, attack her first with cannon, then attack her with portable cannon, then finish her with the flying saucer, know how to fly it to avoid falling into the lava or get hit by her, jump off the vehicles if an attack is coming towards it, don't try to get too close to her or she'll swat you with her wand Sorceress (II): Saucer Battle, know how to pilot the saucer to avoid her shots and crashing into the ooze, fire at her as much as possible, aim and drive well
I seriously disliked the boss battles in Spyro 1. The fact that they are part of a stage just takes away the whole epic arena boss battle feeling and is a real turn off for me.
Why not just take that out of the title then? The no damage thing isn't impressive even if you had managed it, though would be more impressive if you didn't lie.
I remember when I first did the Ripto fight, the way the floor is suddenly all lava when Spyro loops the second time at 15:25 scared me so much XD still does a bit. At the same time I love it and makes the arena look epic.
This has nothing to do with that but the metal sharks in Aquaria Towers scared me so fucking much when i was a kid 😭 i think they still do, creepy motherfuckers.
All the time, since you showed me the secret boss in "spyro 3" i always thought the sorceress became a mutant or so :P( i was about 5 years old when i played this...time for a feel trip)
"another noble warrior falls victim to the plague of love" and yet love is what stopped you from becoming evil in the legend of spyro series. but that's none of my business
ur a pro man i remember my young age i finshed nasty knork and got half way threw the 2nd but u are a pro cant wait for the remake!!!! loved this vid reminded me of my young years and the parts i couldnt get to
It’ll be great to see what these bosses will look like in Spyro Reignited. It was great to see Crash in his remastered comeback but now it’s Spyro’s turn and already he looks better than ever.
Also I just noticed something. After watching this the Sorceress is the only boss that attacks your friendly AI. The other bosses don't even acknowledge that they're there. But the Sorceress will launch her electric balls of Doom at agent nine I just noticed that..
Bosses practically run away in Spyro1, so all the bosses be like *purple dragon that looks like he's going to headbutt us...* RUN AWAY! haha, but anyway, great video! liked! cant wait to see more from you!
ripto is the only final boss that really does it justice. tho having a fakeout death with the sorceress is pretty cool and movie like. but with ripto it goes on for ages, from fighting evenly, to a robot gulp and then flying all over a lava filled arena as everything gets more and more perilous. its truly exactly the sort of epic finale you want to see and play, I wish the other final bosses could manage it on this scale
In Spyro 1, the boss fight dynamics are very different than the other two games. The real action is in Spyro 2 and 3. Personally, I would say that in terms of difficulty I would rank them as follows: 1) Ripto 2) The Sorceress 3) Scorch 4) Gulp 5) Spike 6) Crush 7) Buzz
I think that of all the bosses in this trilogy, Buzz has the biggest intimidation factor for a few reasons. 1. spyro 3 had the best bosses. spyro 3 was the best game imo
Well, ALMOST no damage is more appropiate for title. :)
Neverthles is good
3:28
11:37 damage
the nostalgia... it hurts...
for real mate
I feel the same pain.
We all wish for a world like spyros with dragons and magic. We are sentient mammals us humans. Dragons which quite possibly existed (but I'm not sure) were sentient reptiles. Well... the nostalgia is back in September
soo much
I always loved the bosses in the second game. They were challenging when I was younger and the fact that there was more than just chasing them around.
Can we all agree that Ripto was by far one of if not the most fun boss in these three games
Swifty Artz yep
That's way Ripto has used more than Gnasty Gnorc himself
I always thought the bosses in the first game were pretty weak. I don't really consider them bosses.
I think there might have been time/engine constraints that prevented true boss fight mechanics. If you think about it the "bosses" were programmed no differently than regular enemies besides the fact that they ran away and you had to hit them multiple times.
If you think about it, the games were all made more than ten years ago.
Same. Those were like normal levels with normal enemies, basically.
You also have to remember this was made almost 20 years ago
Here tell you what, spyro one was made in 1998
I used to think the rocks that fall on crush looked like cocoa puffs
Lmao!
Never knew you could make gulp hit himself with his own rocket
darkgemxx its a great speedrun tactic.
3:30 no damage? Lies.
does it fucking matter?
CarlaDaFox I does when it's titled "NO DAMAGE"
11:38 too
Man yo twelve year olds don't know between accidental and perpous.... Damn grow some balls
Bob Martinez "perpous"
Spyro was such an awesome game. These colorful world still remains in my head till my death, lol :-D
17:55
As. a Kid I Was Always Scared Of The Music. And the Battle Itself.
This was my childhood. So many good memories
Ahhh, i remember dr. Shemp. He better WATCH HIS BACK
"You don't know what it's been like listening to him OVER AND OVER!"
oh man, just hearing the music for the boss fights brings back so many memories. Sigh, this was a pleasant blast from the past. I recently played Spyro 1 on a PS1 emulator and while it was very fun, I realized that apparently the controls are not easy to remaster after playing on current consoles for so long. "Blowhard" that just sounds wrong
Glad i'm not the only one who thought that
chocolate flavored oppossum XD
It means someone who’s full of hot air, which Blowhard is, considering he’s just a sheep dressed as a giant shepherd. He’s a fake, living a lie.
Just like your name
My favorite boss was Ripto. Suspense, Action, and Thrill.
Agent 9 Witnesses the Sorceress' survival...Says nothing :L
I know, right? The jerk couldn't even be arsed to finish her off for us!
@@lunarguy6238 i know
That could have been a cool detail to put in Reigned. He looks back but thinks nothing of it. But then her hand completely comes out.
DramakilzU I love how the camera focuses on the bird like, "Hey that Bird is the real evil. Ripto ani't jack :P"
+Shinyhunterlobo and ShinyhunterRaven It's so unfortunate that Enter the Dragonfly was so... underwhelming
***** well it's universal studios' fault for giving the project to new developers just out of school who haven't made a game before and then bum rushing them for christmas
Spike from year of the dragon used to scare the shit out of me as a kid lol
I saw you take damage from Metalhead at 3:28, though it's needless to say that you still did pretty awesome and you're very talented at playing Spyro!
Damage at 11:39 as well
Toasty, Doctor Shemp, Blowhard, Metal Head, Gnasty Gnorc, Crush, Gulp, Ripto, Buzz, Spike and The Empress all disliked this video.
Doctor Shemp and Metal Head have since disliked it. Blowhard, Jacques, and Scorch have not yet watched it, as they are still nursing their burns.
yeah and everyone else who noticed the multiple times he took damage. if he takes damage on a no damage run he deserves a dislike.
*BayareaGuy06 Who's The Empress? Do you possibly mean The Sorceress?*
Don't forget Scorch
BayareaGuy06 And Jacques?
The bass and lows in the music is one of the best things about Spyro! Such great games!
Enjoyed watching this. You played with speed but also kept the keen awareness that a real fan would have about the game. Those little near falls and all remind me so much of myself and my fast paced style
I like the old games for nostalgic reasons
But the new beginning series is awesome!
Yea. I like Cynda
And now the old games is back in September
Man, I hope these games get a remaster like Crash.
Jake Wade spyro the Dragon, aw-some history
Wish Granted ;)
Prayers have been heard! Sep 21st my man!!!
Jake Wade they are
Coming pretty soon~
Gnasty Gnorc: Huge monster, pansy ass sniper.
Ripto: Little guy, *EPIC MAGICAL BOSS FIGHT!*
Sorceress: Wishes she could be like Ripto.
My Top 5 Battles
1-Ripto
2-Crush
3-Scorch
4-The Sorceress
5-MetalHead
No Gulp?
You did great, Ty now I know what I can do. To get a good score❤
really good work buddy
These were the days, man.
Buzz. That dude was fucking scary as a kid.
Morten Pedersen yeah the noises he made and then when he came rolling at you and he would literally be shaving the scales off of spyros ass sure gave me goosebumps lol
I guess "ALL" doesn't include the mini bosses.
Sean Calhoun hey dude, you can watch them here: ua-cam.com/video/-rMhwR40oQo/v-deo.html
Enjoy :D
I can't for remasters of this dude.
Isaac Rodriguez same here
I sure you're happy about today then as I am. :P
it's announced. there will be a remastered version of all three games
Im playing it rn and its LIT!!!!
THE NOSTALGIA!
Now that we have a confirmed remake of this trilogy I can't wait to see these bosses updated.
Ah the 90's; Crash Bandicoot, Spyro and sir Daniel Fortesque are the best memories of my childhood.
Sir who??
@@a-dubwashington1429 Fortesque from MediEvil.
can't wait to see how this looks in HD. also for some reason on the ps3, the sorceress boss fight has the first hub world's music
Crush chasing you actually made me scared shitless when i was young xD
Yeah, it was amazing xD
I can't wait for the remake next month. Spyro 3 is one of my favorite games of all time.
Gulp was harder than Ripto himself. Same story in Year of the Dragon with Spike being harder than the Sorceress.
NCC-1701 Gulp is the only boss that can heal.
Yeah, and he is mental in Reignited man. Try pulling off a Trophy Run without Permanent Superflame.
I swear, the dog enemies in Toasty’s level still freak me out a little. Getting attacked by a bush later in the game didn’t scare me, but a big ass dog that took 2 hits to kill scared the shit outta me.
I love the "boing" sound from Crush :3 So nostalgic when I remember I used to die to that xD
"Spyro 1, 2, and 3 all bosses, no damage (almost)"
I love Spyro, was the best game of my childhood😍😍😍
click bait, you took damage
does it fucking matter?
its not clickbait. its all the fucking bosses and no damage in most of them
CarlaDaFox but he advertised as all no damage
3:30
11:38
You took damage at metalhead and gulp
What about Bluto? And That wizard in Spooky Swamp? And the chinease dragons in Fireworks Factory? They count as bosses too! Also there was a planned boss fight in Dino Mines, But was hidden in Agent 9's level in the jail.
check the mini bosses out here :) ua-cam.com/video/-rMhwR40oQo/v-deo.html
Morrell 74Y
Tell me, what do you the fight in Dino Mines would have been. I always had theories.
- Bailey Gang Gauntlet
- Spyro on a Regular Bull Vs. Red Skill Point Dino on a Mechanical Bull
- A Shootout which would have had a combination of the two
But all would have involved the Superflame Powerup or Re-Use Bentley’s Ammunition in Scorch’s Pit
Great video
Oh I can’t wait to see how these bosses look reignited.
The games which carried my childhood: Rayman, Spyro and Crash Bandicoot ! Buzz's music is such incredible ! Remember me so much nostalgia with my brother ;(
thank you. keep the spirit alive !
Why is Town Square music playing in Jacques's level?
When I faced buzz in Spyro 3 year the dragon on the Spyro reignited trilogy game I hit buzz from the side and his back not once but twice
22:34 - SCORCH JUST DENIED YOU!!!! XD
doctor shemp has got to be one of the best boss fights ever simply because it's so damn funny
Ugh. The Gnasty battle always tripped me up. AND I WAS ONE JUMP AWAY FROM BEATING HIM EVERY TIME!!!
Damn those slowly receding platforms...
These are some good tips... let me see....
Crush: Blue means jump, Red means charge, flame him to cause the rockslide, time the blue and red just right, run away from him when he has 3 HP left. Blue for first 2 HP, Red for next 2 HP, both with 3 HP left
Buzz: Always charge him where he is closest to the lava, when run along the edges when he rolls after you, don't charge with a ring of fire, able to charge when he blows it
Spike: Punches you when close, shoots from afar, shoots twice when using rocks, shoots three time when using red magic, shoots 4 times when using blue magic, watch out for flames from the ground, charge away when he uses blue magic, jump over when he uses red magic, watch his shots carefully and dodge them quickly
Scorch: Watch the shadows of his laser shots to see where they'll land, rings around him are a protective safeguard, green rockets last once, red rockets have 50 rapid-fire, uses eggs for foes (First crabs, then TNT yetis, then fire trolls, finally Buzz), yetis and trolls will try to explode near you so make them explode away from you, attack crabs like always, defeat Buzz by shoving him into the ooze or using rockets, use rockets wisely and not when Scorch uses his safe-guard
Sorceress (I): Dodge her flame-balls, don't let her swat you with her wand, uses laser shots that vary from 1 to 3 to several, attack her first with cannon, then attack her with portable cannon, then finish her with the flying saucer, know how to fly it to avoid falling into the lava or get hit by her, jump off the vehicles if an attack is coming towards it, don't try to get too close to her or she'll swat you with her wand
Sorceress (II): Saucer Battle, know how to pilot the saucer to avoid her shots and crashing into the ooze, fire at her as much as possible, aim and drive well
I seriously disliked the boss battles in Spyro 1. The fact that they are part of a stage just takes away the whole epic arena boss battle feeling and is a real turn off for me.
Hershel Layton I like the idea of the boss levels being levels of their own, however the fights against the bosses were lack luster.
So happy im not the only one who was terrifyied by Buzz as a kid. The other bosses scared me too. Great games and I cant wait for the remakes!
I always loved the sound of Gnasty running
You took damage on metal head and gulp besides that really awesome job man!
For all who complaim about the damage at Gulp and Metalhead - WATCH THIS: ua-cam.com/video/YMwFoVq9PY4/v-deo.html
I agree with you so every one else better...
SHUT THE HECK UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
no need to get angry Gemma.
you could have edit it in the no damage part so it won't seem like click bait or a lie.
Why not just take that out of the title then? The no damage thing isn't impressive even if you had managed it, though would be more impressive if you didn't lie.

You can't blame people for complaining, though. You really should have put THOSE clips in this video.
They scared me a little too, just how fast they were at getting you if you went anywhere near them XD
Scorch scared the crap out of me.
I don't remember the Sorceress making that unholy noise in the pal version of the game O_o
I loved how there was so much side enemy's on the way to the fight in one.
All the time, since you showed me the secret boss in "spyro 3" i always thought the sorceress became a mutant or so :P( i was about 5 years old when i played this...time for a feel trip)
I have a literal tear in my eye and I'm only 3 minutes into the video. Love ya Spyro.
"another noble warrior falls victim to the plague of love" and yet love is what stopped you from becoming evil in the legend of spyro series. but that's none of my business
Think about this, in remastered HD.
Yo u played the reignited?
Peter Gunnarsen yep had a great time!

Always found it cool that in spyro 3 ur dudes come to help
omg whenever I came across a boss I was terrified !
Can't wait to see these bosses in the reignited trilogy!
Man the first spyro 3 boss is the BEST!
I really like the song
It’ll be great to see what these bosses will look like in Spyro Reignited. It was great to see Crash in his remastered comeback but now it’s Spyro’s turn and already he looks better than ever.
Bentley's dialog kills me. He talks like a college professor. LOL
Also I just noticed something. After watching this the Sorceress is the only boss that attacks your friendly AI. The other bosses don't even acknowledge that they're there. But the Sorceress will launch her electric balls of Doom at agent nine I just noticed that..
In Spyro 3, you could feel the hints of Ratcher and Clank, like the battle with Spike on 20:15 the music, the atmosphere, the enemy etc...
Anyone notice how much harder buzz got in the remaster?
Remaster has been announced today so excited!
spyro made my childhood. I loved him. I have aaall games..oh my god I think I have to play them again!!! 😍
LA MEDIA HORA MEJOR APROVECHADA DE MI VIDA!! xD
Me encanto! Like! :3 (No sabía el boss secreto :0)
Can't wait to see all the boss battles in the Reignited Trilogy!
You are fast at getting to the actual boss! It would take me at least 5 minutes to get to them.
cant wait to see this in the HD remasters
27:20
agent 9's just like "nothing to see here lol"
Bosses practically run away in Spyro1, so all the bosses be like
*purple dragon that looks like he's going to headbutt us...* RUN AWAY!
haha, but anyway, great video! liked!
cant wait to see more from you!

15:13 RIP Hunter.
16:12 RIP Clockwerk.
Spike? No damage? I call hax (great video, such nostalgia, much wow)
Great video it looks like you took a hit and some damage against metalhead
Can't wait to play this in the remaster!
SOme video game characters are actually helpful, spyro 3 proved that.
Dat Gulp rocket hit tho
15:07 Hunter?!!
Man also that music for the Gulp battle is used on soooooo many movies! But I first heard it here ha
I use to play thid game with my mom on ps 1,2 when i was just a kiddo.I still miss these days. I wish mom was here.
In Spyro 1, the boss fight dynamics are very different than the other two games. The real action is in Spyro 2 and 3. Personally, I would say that in terms of difficulty I would rank them as follows: 1) Ripto 2) The Sorceress 3) Scorch 4) Gulp 5) Spike 6) Crush 7) Buzz
lol the sheep on stilts. The sound track in Spyro is amazing.
